It is designed as 3.1 w/ bass,so therefore u can use the 2 cube speakers as l/r rear to get the 5.1 surround set up.that soundbar is set already as l/r front and center.
We have an older set had it for years I talking when DVD and CD was still a thing still hasn't skipped a beat you won't be disappointed the quality is worth the price for years of years without failure 😀
I purchased the Soundbar, sub woofer and four speakers. Love it! Tech support is outstanding. Downloading the Bose app to your smart phone is recommended.
Late to the party, but I purchased this Soundbar and base module this week, it’s expensive but I’ve had a sonos playbar and sub in the past that was a similar price. The output is absolutely stunning, I decided to get this over the Sonos arc as Atmos isn’t really important to me, I’ve had 5.1.2 systems in the past and wasn’t really overly impressed with the Atmos experience, if I was to go all out for an Atmos system, it would need to be done properly with in ceiling speakers, I chose Bose over Sonos this time due to wanting an all round system that played music as well as tv sound
Great in depth review! I was just wondering if you think that the soundbar would be worth it without the additional subwoofer when it is used in a smaller room. Would you say the soundbar itself still provides good low-end frequencies without it, considering the room I'd be using it in would be around 25 m2 (around 260 square feet I'd say)
@@HelpCloud Alright! Thanks for the response. I will probably be checking it out in a store and comparing the sound to different soundbars before making a decision. But I'm leaning towards getting this one, seems to me like it ticks all of the boxes for me
@@roelcorpuz8354 no man I have not. It happend quite a bit for a while. Then i just stopped but keeps coming back every once in a while but not as bad. So some times it does it and other time it doesn't. Let me know if you figure it out. I tried unplugging it and tried hard resetting the bose system and starting over and it didn't help much.
Have bought the 700 Soundbar in White. It's fantastic ..... But now I am thinking if I should purchase the Subwoofer, can't decide. Great to really get some advise !! Does it make much difference?
I own the Bose 700 Soundbar, 700 Bass Module and 700 Surround Speakers. The Bose 700 Base Module makes all the difference in the world. Listening to music and watching movies sound amazing! The 700 Soundbar sounds really good on its own but the 700 Base Module will change your whole listening experience. It’s a night and day difference without exaggeration. I recently added the 700 Surround Speakers to the setup and now movies and music come to life and sound unlike anything I’ve ever heard before.. With the Bose Music App, you have complete control of how you want your system to sound and it may be pricey, but you won’t regret it after you hear it. If you can, purchase it at Best Buy and try it out, I assume you would have the standard 30 Day return policy we have here in Canada as well. But chances are you won’t be returning it after watching some movies and listening to your music on this system. I definitely recommend adding the 700 Bass Module first, and if you can later add the Surround Speakers for a complete 5.1 surround setup.
Joe Schmoe fantastic, thanks for the details, really might have to go out and buy it hehe. Surround might not now, as this setup is for my bedroom and weird if I place the satellite speaker on my headboard or nightstand, might consider later on if I do ever move my system out to my living room. Thank you again.
@JoeSchmoe is totally accurate - if you can afford the Bass Module you'll wonder how you listened to anything on your system before you had 3.1 channels. The better dynamic range that is offered with the Module is remarkable. And bass is more about what you feel, and less about what you hear. So as you have those big cinematic sounds moving through your screen you will FEEL them in your chest. It really is a remarkable difference. The nice thing is because you can slowly add the different components you can add them whenever you're ready (whether it's the Bass Module - 500 or 700, or the satellite speakers, or the 700 surrounds). Going to a 3.1 is your first step and one that you won't regret.
I purchase the Bose 700 series sound bar and the surround speakers. I'm about to add a sub woofer but not a Bose unit. It has an auto setting that only turns on the sub when it gets a signal from the sound bar. As soon as I get it hooked up,I will make a comment on the complete unit..!! I love the BOSE 700 Series Sound Bar and Surround Sound Speakers.!!
"it's ................. an awesome TV". Man, i don't know whats wrong with you but ........ I love the wrongness. Staying with the channel. Love the review. Great job 👍👍👍
Hi.. i got a soundbar 700 recently... with the subwoofee and 2 cute surrounds. Can you tell me which is the best place to mount surround speakers. I have kept soundbar at the base of the TV. I need to know if surround speakers shoild be besides the TV (on both sides) or should they be on opposite wall facing the TV?
The surround speakers should be behind you. There are lots of differing opinions on placement, but generally speaking they should be between 130-155 degrees off of the center of your normal seating position when watching your TV. There are lots of diagrams and help online but for me, the simplest set up is a little behind your couch, on each edge, slightly facing towards you, rather than directly parallel back at the front of the room. Let me know how it goes!
I had Sonos Arc for a day and returned it back. Girlfriend wanted to keep it clean simple but eventually made her agree to Klipsch R-28PF powered floorstanding speakers and a 12" woofer... Ohh yeahh lots of power and cheaper too... Now shopping for Bose 700 for my mom. I would definitely get another set of Klipsch but has to go to Europe. Transporting would be headache.
Great review and appreciate you responding to all comments! About the product - how would you compare it to Sony ST-5000? (Sorry if you have already answered this).
Man, I actually preferred the Samsung Q90r simply because the Atmos. Sound quality is pretty equal, but Atmos capabilities might be the slight advantage between the two.
Can you say me the best home theatre and also best base among these companies bose , jbl, pioneer, from these 3 can you say me which is the best home theatre only 1 from all of these
What is the setting you use for the bass module? I realize that increase the bass on sound bar also increases the bass on the module.. So I keep it 50 on center Chan. 70 on bass and 30 on treble... But then I also keep it at 90 on the bass module.. Is this correct or should I keep 0 bass and 100 on module
It’s basically the SoundTouch 300 renamed to the Soundbar 700, it’s exactly the same spec. That’s no bad thing though, I had the Touch300 and loved it.
"At this time, it is not possible to connect two pairs of satellite speakers to the Soundbar 700. We have no information regarding whether this will ever be a feature. It is possible to connect two Bass Modules to the system, however!"
⁉️ Question. I have the Bose 900 Soundbar with 700 bass module. The first few months everything worked great but one day about a month and half ago there was a burning smell coming from the subwoofer and ever since that day we had to turn the bass down to level 0 (had it on 3) and when the bass hit it makes loud popping sounds -I looked at it and it's because it's jumping up and down moving all around like crazy on the hardwood floors. It never moved at all previously. Also before that you could turn the bass level as high as you would like and it still sounded good, and didn't move around. Do you know what would have caused this or have you heard about this from other people?
All depends on what you are looking for. Check out this article www.rtings.com/soundbar/tools/compare/samsung-hw-q900t-vs-samsung-hw-q700a/15422/23516?usage=8767&threshold=0.10
I'm on the fence between a Klipsch surround sound wired system or the bose surround sound set up. Which one sounds better? Not worried about price difference.
@@HelpCloud I appreciate your input and thank you for the video. I think I'm going to go with the bose 700 set up. It's too convenient and bose has never let me down.
700 likes on the Bose 700 lol I made it 701 Thanks for the info, torn between getting the 500 or 700 sound bar. I just purchased the 700 subwoofer & Rear Speakers
Man if you can swing it, get the 700. It's going to handle high volumes better without compressing the sound as much. But both are really great options.
Today I ordered the Bose 700 Set. 2 sourroundspeaker, 1 bass box and the soundbar. All in all 1650€. I am very very excited. Btw: you deserve a like just for your mustache 😎
It’s February 2021 and I’m considering a sound bar and subwoofer set for my flatscreen in my garage. I’m looking at the Bose 700 w/subwoofer. The BestBuy price is about $1700.00, plus tax. It’s for 55’ flatscreen and some music from my iPhone. Recommendations, please?
Great video!! just wondering if this is worth upgrading to from Bose Solo Tv Sound System, the Soundbar and Bass Module seems to be the most advisable thing to get from all the videos i've seen. Missing out on DTSX & Atmos really a big deal??
You would notice a HUGE improvement stepping up from the Solo to the Soundbar 500. There isn't as big of a jump from the 500 to the 700 - but there is still a step up between those two. Either way both will sound so much better than the Solo 5. Also, if you can afford the Bose Bass Module, it REALLY helps the Bose system pick up those low end frequencies. Of the soundbars I've reviewed, the Bose under-performs slightly in relation to it's peers in low end frequencies (hence it needs the bass module more than some of it's competitors). The Atmos question is definitely one to consider. It depends on a lot of variables, the largest variable being the room you're going to play it in (small, med, large, vaulted ceilings, etc). Next is how are you mainly using your TV? Watching Television programs (maybe not necessary), or streaming HD and UHD content with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X formats? Then you will want to look elsewhere for something that will support those formats (NOT BOSE). In reality it's still quite difficult for manufacturers to get the "reflective" sound bouncing of the ceiling right in order to truly create atmospheric sounds.... But, I have been really impressed with several bars that do a great job at creating a believable over-head affect. I hope that helps answer your question.
@@HelpCloud Just noticed you responded, i appreciate this and you sure helped out... I'm upgrading from the Solo Tv sound system from 2012 & a Samsung 5.1 HTS-J5500W home cinema. I used both but defaulted to the Bose as it was just better. Now i watch alot of amazon/netflix and downloaded movie/ tv series, i also watch live tv, soccer and such. PS4 use too. So i just need a unit that can cut across all these. I also intend the upgrade to be a great music player with pounding mad bass (Hence my interest in the 700 + bass module), I keep coming across the Samsung HW-90R , i've heard the HW-70R in my friends house & i admit i was impressed for a Samsung! I don't mind splashing for the Bose 700 + bass module (Surround speakers later), but with the HW-90R being cheaper with the Atmos& DTSX feature, is it worth getting that instead?
I agree with your thinking. The Samsung Q90r is a great option. Because you also mentioned "pounding mad bass" I might suggest the Nakamichi Shockwave series, either the 7.2.4 ($999) or the 9.2.4 ($1399). They both POUND and have phenomenal sound and support Atmos and DTS:X formats. Just something to consider. (I get the need for bass, I have 4 DD subs in my truck :)
Is it better to buy Bose 700 (Bose 700 soundbar+ Bose 700 subwoofer + Bose 700 surround speaker) or Bose Lifestyle 650 (5.1) home theatre? In terms of sound experience.
Hi Ryan. Great review! I have a large opening in my entertainment unit which would fit the soundbar nicely. Would this affect the sound to any extent? Does this soundbar have side firing speakers? Thank you.
It doesn't have side-ways firing speakers on the ends of the unit. Instead they have what they call PhaseGuide Technology that "directs beams" of sound to make it feel more spacious. It works really well and you do get a sense of the movement of sound across the screen (in and out of the picture). As far as placing it in an entertainment center it shouldn't affect the sound as long as it doesn't block the front of the soundbar itself and has room for it to breath behind the unit for the ports as well (largely where your bass will come from without the component sub). Hope that helps and good luck.
Hi, you mentioned in your video that it is future compatible. Do you mean to say that the additional Dolby features for surround sound can be updated to later by updating the firmware? Thanks
What audio settings do you have your soundbar & module set to?? I have this system and I’m not feeling the Bose high quality sound...not sure what my settings should be.
Is your problem already fixed? Because we've had this problem for over a year now and it really pisses me off by now. The sound from a simple cheap JBL box sounds better than this soundbar.
Have been seeing reviews of people claiming on low frequencies that the bass sub will sound like popcorn / crackling. Have you had any of these issues? Or that the bass won’t work without wifi / will lag the music when having issues with connection to the wifi? Any insight will be helpful before I make the purchase, thanks!
I have a question. I have the exact same stuff but when the 2 little speakers are powered you hear very quiet noises which are not audible when you watch something
"The Soundbar 500, Soundbar 700 and SoundTouch 300 speakers are all able to support 1 set of surround speakers at a time. It would not be possible to add a second pair of surround speakers to the soundbar. I currently own the bose cinemate series ii for several years and i am looking to upgrade to something more modern. Is bose 700 soundbar a good upgrade? Also does connecting the 700 bass module wired instead of wireless effect sound quality?
I am unfamiliar with the Bose Cinemate series so I can't comment of if the 700 is an upgrade. Wired to Wireless you will always lose a bit of quality but it still sounds good.
I have the 65” LG CX and my 700 is in front of the TV (doesn’t block the screen) but to have the back baffles of the Soundbar proper distance to not restrict sound flow, how much distance should I have to the screen. Thanks!
I am no means an audio expert but here is something may be accurate. Someone else may chime in too! www.reddit.com/r/audiophile/comments/3ht672/is_having_rear_ported_speakers_close_to_a_wall/
@@HelpCloud Actually I figured it out just last Thursday as it took me hours to pair my Bose Soundbar and my Bose Bass Module Subwoofer 700 series. It's been connected since then. I truly love how clear the sound quality is, which I never got with the other sound systems I owned. Even gaming for me has been great with the explosions and gun fire I get on Call of Duty Modern Warfare.
Thanks for your review. Is this speaker setup the same class or comparable with JBL 9.1? I am thinking to buy either one. But usually the comparison doesn't include the full package of Bose 700 (Soundbar, SubWoofer and Surround).
We haven't tested the JBL 9.1, so we can't give a educated opinion. This page seems to compare the two. productz.com/en/bose-soundbar-700-vs-jbl-bar-9-1/v/lxAdA-A6Bn0
Thanks again for the recommendation. I checked that website too, but unfortunately it’s not too helpful. The difficult thing to compare is the JBL 9.1 has the Dolby Atmos, but I am not sure if the JBL’s sound quality can be comparable with Bose’s.
If it is just the soundbar 700 compared to the Samsung Q90r, it is definitely a better point for the Samsung Q90r, after all, the Samsung Q90r has a subwoofer and surround back speakers. But if it is bose soundbar 700 + subwoofer + surround speakers then Samsung Q90r is simply incomparable.
How do I add 2 Revolve Sound Speakers to the Bose 700 Soundbar group in the Bose App? When I try to add them to the app group, the soundbar disconnect. I can add one speaker, but I want add both speakers in order to get deeper stereo sound. Any ideas?
I have sound touch 10 speakers and while the sound is excellent and build is solid, the problem I have is with the app, so I am really hesitant to purchase more Bose equipment.
@@HelpCloud any interruption of internet, or even just not turning the system on for a couple of days leaves me having to spend way too much time having to restart, reset, re-add , uninstall and reinstall the app.
It is possible. This may guide you in the direction you need. www.bose.com/en_us/support/articles/HC2524/productCodes/bose_soundbar_500_system_pkg/article.html
I really hope someone can answer this - can I connect the soundbar 500 to a tv WIRED and ALSO connect it via bluetooth to my phone for example. So When I'm not using the tv I can connect it to my phone with it still being plugged in to the tv
That should work just fine. "Press and hold the Bluetooth source button on the remote for several seconds. Ensure your mobile device is in pairing mode and select the Bose Soundbar 500 from the list. You also can pair your mobile device to the soundbar using the Bose Music app."
Alot of people like to bash on BOSE i think their speakers have a great sound signature and sound really good for their size . BOSE its been practical and Make a very good quality product with lots of sound TECHNOLOGY. I love them think they are fun to listen too. Its just enjoyable with everything you hear threw them. Is there bigger better sound speakers outhere.....well yeah if you like a car size imaxx speaker in your living room🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Recently I bought Bose sound bar 500 and modular. Do you have any idea to connect sound bar to module without wifi instead using aux cable please help me
It is a major drawback, but unfortunately Bose has been/is pretty quiet on this topic. It for sure should be on their road-map for future development but they really haven't clued us into when that might realistically happen.
I bought my 700 system, center soundbar, subwoofer and a pair of surround speakers all 700 series a few months back. I walk into best buy now they have a 900 series soundbar looks like the workout room is getting a bose soundbar. Kinda pricey for the soundbar with a 4yr warranty it comes out to $1,136 at best buy. Dammit only if I waited a few months
I'm having trouble getting the app to detect my devices, any advice? The manual they sent has real bad instructions, I'm wondering if maybe my ethernet cable that isn't working I'm not sure
Sound bar is good but not perfect 1.Red lndicator on the bar is always on so you pretty much dont know if the power is on or off 2.you can only ajust audio settings like bass, trable itc. over the phone or tablet not over tv 3.doesnt indicate volume level on the tv
