The two top openings have two speakers, left & right. The two bottom openings, do not have speakers behind them, instead, they are for letting out the air and bass being produced by one internal suwoofer inside the radio. This sound this radio produces is absolutely amazing. I used to own the original Bose CD-2000 and then the Bose CD-3000 followed by this one. In my opinion this one sounds the best followed by the original CD-2000 followed by the CD-3000. I highly recommend this Bose Acoustic Wave Music System II, if you can afford it.
If you are in the second hand market and always wanted one of these from the moment when you walked into the store get one. You know what Bose offers and doesn't. The RCAs can be used with a Bluetooth adapter. But if your into relaxing listening to classical, jazz and blues sitting in a chair with a drink and cigar. Enjoy your time and sit and enjoy the music. It's not for rap or hip hop. Yes the price should have dropped along time ago but now it's a very good deal if you can find it. In my 40's now sit relax enjoy your time you have left.
I’ve got this particular product and I’ve only used it a few times. It’s excellent for playing the types of music that is featured in this video but when it comes to anything harder or more complex it doesn’t do that great of a job at reproducing decent sound quality. Although BOSE no longer sells the acoustic wave music system 2 it was waaaaay over priced for what it did. Actually for what it doesn’t do. I payed over $1,200 US for this. I also got the carrying case and the 20 pin iPhone docking system. All totaled I paid over $1,500 for everything. 8 days after I got the damn thing Apple went to the lightning connector so it made the $149 docking system I bought obsolete. I have literally only used the wave system probably 5 times. It sounds good with classical music but that’s about it. I like BOSE products. I have several other products by them including 2 of their Lifestyle 650’s in my bedroom and in our living room. But this particular item doesn’t live up to their reputation. Put in more simple words it wasn’t worth the money I paid.
Only notable downside to this beast is that Bose ill-advisedly kept the price on it as high as it was on their original CD-2000 that was released way back in the early-90s (O_O)! That led many customers to look elsewhere for more cost-effective alternatives that had a few more things going for them by comparison. For what that AWMS II was selling at when it first came out 15 years ago, Bose should've at least included the 5-CD multi-changer, storage/travel case, power pack, and bluetooth adapter at NO extra charge. Good thing enough time has passed where you can finally get a decent used/refurbished one for less than half its original price these days (whew)... ;-)
The only thing wrong with Bose is .... Their design team are totally devoid of any sense of style, an ugly piece of plastic and the grey version is even worse.....and to top it all , it's not cheap...
roblex63 Right. I understand where you are coming from. However, the team itself aren't aiming to be flashy. Rather, they are aiming for efficiency in terms of the audio produced and the dB that can be created as well as the product's functionality.
