EXACTLY my comments when I first tried my new L1. The sound is so good that you can't 'hide' behind it as you would with a normal PA. On the up side you have to 'up' your game. But it certainly shines a spotlight on any shortcomings.

I use two of these and connect them to my laptop and use a mix 12fx 12 channel compact mixer and the sound is fantastic for karaoke track singing venues with an audience of up to 200 people. The sound is clear and bass is superb. No more lugging heavy amps and 15 in speakers . I use Sure beta 58 microphones and is most professional sound for the money. Well investment. I am always getting compliments on the sound from such a compact set up which takes me about 15 minutes to be ready to go.

Thanks for the input! I just HATE the Embarrasator button in the studio. You know, the one the engineer can hit that cuts out all instruments, backing vocals and effects and leaves your voice totally naked in all it's human frailty! Truly humbling.

I own two Compacts and they deliver clarity better than anyone else. Warning: if you have a weak voice, the Bose will faithfully reproduce the flaws in your vocals, with no mid-range bloat to carry you. If you have a great voice, the Bose will reveal all the detail in your singing like you're in the studio. Acoustic guitar and keys sound amazing through this system. Think about how great the video sounded compared to the usual blurry PA junk we're used to hearing.

Nothing too it! Just take years of professional lessons and work on it for 3 decades! Although I confess, I STILL have to practice a lot. Thanks!

I've got to admit it sounded great at the gig in the video (4:02). I thought the EQ sounded quite natural. No "bloat" at all. Tried to use it at a noisier venue and found that it craps out around 80% on the volume knob, but that was my fault for not bringing enough PA. Maybe that's the problem other people have had.

Well done, thanks. I am a bit concerned about the lower midrange in this system. The word "bloat" has been used here, but coud it be that it's a bit lean and lacking body in the Bose, particularly for guitar (or piano for that matter)? I have yet to listen to one, but your opinion would be appreciated. I like playing over large speakers (12 or 15 inches) for the fullness. Membrane surface plus enclosure volume can't be beat, they say.

It's better if you run a mp3 or CD flat sound no response i used and built many speaker like a J B L.Loudspeakers are more for bands you get the full sound.Dave at Underground Sound

Can you describe how many RMS power watts there are on L1 Compact, L1 Model 1 B1, and L1 Model 2 B1? Thanks
@MoreThanGuitar
@MoreThanGuitar 10 лет назад
Bose doesn't rate their gear by watts. I guess you could get schematics and work it out, but Bose gear works so differently from other PA's that I doubt it would be a useful comparison.
@Si1983h
@Si1983h 10 лет назад
400w RMS, in any case though the power of a PA in watts can be a little meaningless, the sensitivity of speaker cabs is as important as anything or in the case of active designs the maximum continuous or peak SPL.

I wonder if it's good enough for music listening at home ?
@MoreThanGuitar
@MoreThanGuitar 9 лет назад
Not stereo. I've run canned music through it. a Bose home system would be better for less money.
@TheUnderground56

+zzzxtreme yes it would be but if you want to spend less but still get a great sound in your studio or music room in your home in my home studio i use for my band the Groove i use a 10 channel Yamaha powered mixer and JRX 12inch J B L's with Horns 1000 watts the mixer is around 300 and the cables are 70 dollars and the monitors around 300 for 2 of them sounds awesome

Is it loud enough for a outdoor school gig for a 4 piece blues rock band?
@jasonbull3987
@jasonbull3987 5 лет назад
Pretty sure he said it sounded thin and scooped when he tried it with his band. So i reckon that's a no. EV and turbo sound have louder more mids and bass versions.
