Do they reduce bass at high levels? When I compared them to the QC35 a few months back in the store I felt like the 700 started to sound thin after 80% volume. Did you experience that as well? Great review by the way!

I have had both the Sony XM3 and the Bose NC 700. Can you tell me why you felt like the NC 700 sounds better than the XM3? Listening the Sony, I can hear a dynamic sound with punchy deep bass, crisp high pitch, literally just a proper fun sound signature. More colourful, more life in the tone. While the Bose have a more flat, kind of empty sound signature. Why is it better?

For me the Sony has an artificial/amplified sound compared to the Bose. Where i need the EQ to set my sound profile on the Sony, I just turn the Bose on and feel good with the sound that it produces and for headphones that are over the $350 mark you kind of expect a clean sound from the beginning without any EQ Altering. Now granted Bose isn't known for bass, but compared to what i felt was muddy bass on my Sony's, the signature on the Bose was a little more tight sounding. Now in some cases the Sony outshines the Bose when it comes to certain music i will admit that but as an overall package i have to give it to the Bose. There are quite a few other reasons as well why i prefer the Bose; build quality, Ease of use with the App, Definitely Mic quality etc. I mean at the end of the day it's only my opinion. Plenty disagree with me for sure on this but in reality i don't look at hype it's more along the line of how satisfied you are you with what you bought. This much cash is no joke for some people and to me you have a longer lasting product with the Bose than the Sony. Hope this answered you're question and thanks for watching.

Spacey Tropics Thanks very much to get back to me so quickly. Now I understand where you’re coming from and like you said it’s down to the personal preferences. To be honest I miss the Sony’s sound signature. Had to return them a few days ago because it started creaking pretty badly around the hinges/earcups. And this was already a replacement unit, the first one was creaking from day one, straight out of box. Loved the sound, the comfort, even the volume was a lot higher than the Bose but I was so disappointed with the Sony’s build quality and didn’t want another replacement because I thought it was only a matter of time until the third one starts creaking as well. So decided to let the Sony go and thumbs up for the Bose NC 700 instead. But really don’t know...might end up with the Sony XM3 again. 😅 Btw you mentioned the build quality difference between them... how is your Sony WH-1000XM3 functional? Any creaking? Thanks

@@attilab.2818 So as far as the build on my XM3s i hear a creaking noise as well on the upper right side of the headband which i was expecting to happen since every iterartion from the 1st gen to now has had build issues involving such problems, and the ANC goes in and out very badly while taking public transportation and we hit a bump in the road on the bus when i used to live in NYC. Honestly in the beginning i was super excited for them but they sort of disappointed me the more and more i used them. Really i only got a solid 6-8months of usage before i switched to V-Moda then Bose.
@attilab.2818

Spacey Tropics How do you mean the ANC goes in and out when travelling on uneven roads? Is it actually the adaptive mode and randomly switches between settings or just simply playing up because of the actual bump/pothole being hit?
@spaceytropics
@spaceytropics 4 года назад
@@attilab.2818 Well generally when the bus hits the bump the ANC dims down in strength along with the music for a brief second so no big deal right, but place multiple bumps on the road with crappy MTA bus suspension and the ANC just destroys the listening experience by alot so much to the point that i just plain turn it off. Didn't have that issue with the Bose however. I would assume it is the Adaptive Tech in the headphones trying to compensate for not only the loud noise made by the bus's suspension but also for the sudden shift in movement when hitting the multiple bumps. I've seen a few thread online where similar things have happened to a few people where the ANC drops for a sec and comes back after a sudden shift in movement. Not sure why it happens but it does and it's quite the disappointment for me.

Mine just arrived today and I am very excited. Currently charging them so I can use them after a full charge. The only design flaw I see is that I wished they would have put the Bose logo in a different location than the touch pad. I would be worried long term on rubbing the Logo off and having the headphones look tacky
@spaceytropics
@spaceytropics 5 лет назад
You do have a point as I've been noticing to register a proper touch gesture you need to swipe across the entire pad to properly get a song change or volume up/down. To me gestures like those are more satisfying though as it gives you a sense of "everything just works well" kind of feel but the rubbing out of the Bose logo does cause a bit of concern that only time will tell. Still Though, you're gunna enjoy them quite a bit I can assure you.

Did you like these as much as good as the v moda crossfade 2 wireless for sound quality?
@spaceytropics
@spaceytropics 4 года назад
First, thank you for watching, i really appreciate it! The V-Moda's in terms of sound quality right now for me can't really be beat. Bass response all the way up to High's are consistent all the way through for most of the genres i listen too. Honestly can't wait for the next iteration of these. However, that's not to say the Bose isn't good at all. The Bose is meant for a whole different type of listening due to it having Active Noise Cancelling. The feature set and overall amazing working ANC make the Bose the best in it's class so far to me and makes me excited for ANC headphones of the future. Comparing the 2 doesn't work out in the end since they belong to different sides of the headphone playing field. You want superb sound go V-Moda. You want amazing ANC and pretty decent to great sounding headphones depending on the genres you listen too then go for Bose. Hope this helped out a bit!

Please, try Bose700 and Sony M3 with TIDAL with a MASTER music track with IOS/Android. Who is better ? Bose700 or Sony M3 ? Thank you
@spaceytropics
@spaceytropics 5 лет назад
I'm sorry but i Don't have a Tidal account nor do i have a spare android phone to test it with. I also feel even if i test it like that I can't play those tracks with a Binural mic or any mic due to copyright infringement. I'm trying to do the best testing i can for what i have currently. I'm sorry if this response is not what you were looking for. I can tell you from what i have done between the two so far, The Bose is beating the XM3 for me, however it's not extensive testing so i won't ask you to listen to what i'm saying for now. I'll do my best to get some lossless audio downloaded to the computer and test that way. I am sorry about this.

Is it comfortable?, and is it more comfortable then the Qc35 ii ?
@spaceytropics
@spaceytropics 5 лет назад
It is definitely pretty comfortable but I haven't had extended use with it yet since I only recently got it, so take my words lightly until I drop the actual review for it. As for how it compares to the QC35ii, this has a stainless steel headband but it still isn't too heavy; that being said the QC35ii is still lighter than these since it's made of mostly plastic so they might have slightly less pressure on the crown of your head and sides of your face compared to thee NCH 700 which is slightly heavier by a few grams. Hope that helps you out a bit.

Nice review.. I was about to buy QC35II last week and then accidentally found out NC 700 being launched.. When you compare the sound quality for music, I understand there is a difference and XM3 are better with their bass and all. But is it like Bose is not at par at all, I mean i am not buying these expensive Bose headphones for their call quality alone.. Having crisp and clear original music is definitely the prime factor for selecting the headphones. I did test QC and XM3 in store but it was difficult for a layman like me to make out the difference between the two (also I am not an expert here). So if i am going with NC or QC, am i really losing on music quality? My understanding was Bose being a premium brand for audio devices only, should offer equal if not better music than Sony.

Spent $399... It turned out It's unable to connect to Bose Music app!!!!!! Be careful before you pay for it!
@spaceytropics
@spaceytropics 5 лет назад
The Bose Music App has one major flaw and that is no WiFi no connection. For some reason the only way for it to work is for the app to have a wifi connection, it does not work on cellular data which is something I've duly noted to put in my full review. Try Unpairing the headphones from your phone by forgetting the device, uninstall/re-install the app (Make sure you're on wifi) and Try signing in and connecting the headphones through the app itself not through your actual bluetooth settings. That process will be a little longer than connecting direct through the bluetooth settings but it should work. Also if you're hooking it up through SOME outside unprotected wifi networks expect it to not work that way either. It needs to be a trusted wifi source. The BOSE MUSIC APP is horribly flawed and like I said I will be putting this in the full review soon. Thank you for watching and I'm sorry you're having this trouble. Hope what I said helps you out.

sound is better than qc35 ||?

To me after testing both in Best Buy, I'd have to say it does give a better bass signature and overall better sound than the QC35ii. It's not a significant boost but it is better. Hope this helps out.

Weird I did a side-by side comparison at Best Buy as well. The NCH 700 high frequency is either boosted or they cut the lows. The bass response in the QC35ii are definitely more present than the 700
@spaceytropics
@spaceytropics 5 лет назад
I've noticed something similar myself going between 2 different Best Buy's. One place the NCH 700 sounds better while the other is a different story, sounding a bit inferior to the QC35ii. I believe it's the use case and how many people listen to these headphones per day going through Best Buy. I can report however that getting your actual own unit, the sound is way better than the store itself. I also have a theory(though not proven) that whenever Best Buy sells a brand new pair of headphones from an established manufacturer, they plug in the glued on aux cable to a headphone amp on the other side of the showcase. I've noticed this for the WH-1000XM3's as well when I first got those on release day but I could be wrong also. I have a friend that I will borrow his QC35ii just to see and make a comparison on sound with and come back with a full answer in my actual full review of these in about 2/3 weeks. Hope this helps out.
