Bose QC Ultra Review! Did They Finally Catch Up To Sony? 

I sold my XM5's for the Bose based on the reviews on RU-vid. The Bose sounds great but, but, but on S23 Ultra they are not as good as the XM5 with LDAC. XM5 sound is impressive expecially with the right EQ settings. I'm a Hip Hop & R&B person so that may play a factor. Samsung doesn't allow aptx so that's a bummer for me. Because of this the Sony's just sound better to me. I did sell my WFXM5 earbuds for the Bose Ultra earbuds though. The Bose buds bass just out thumps the Sony's. And the fit is so much better. With these I don't even care about the LDAC codec. It doesn't matter in this instance, the Bose are better. Also I'm using Apple Music all Loseless or Dolby audio downloaded songs on the S23 Ultra and iPhone 15 pro. Great Review.

I notice a lot more noise floor on the Bose QC Ultra, meaning a background hiss or white noise, when you have ANC on and don’t have any audio playing. The Sony XM5s are dead silent with ANC on and no audio playing. So if you want peace and quiet by blocking out outside noise, and no audio playing, the Sonys are dead quiet. The hiss on the Bose is very noticeable with no audio playing, but it does disappear into the background once you play audio. I think this is good to know as I haven’t heard anyone mentioning it in their reviews. I probably would not have bought the QC Ultras if I had known this.

Got the Bose Ultras a couple days ago. So far I’m very impressed, especially with the immersion.

Couldn’t agree more with you. Best headphones I’ve ever owned by a mile. Good choice with Virginia Beach, that song shines on these headphones. I use a +3 bass, -1 mid, +1 treble EQ.

I actually tried the Bose ultra and the xm5. Ended up returning the Sonys because the Bose just have better noise cancelling, the transparency mode is as good as AirPods and I actually think the immersion mode is pretty great. They change the way you experience the music and podcasts. It works best for certain genres but I love having that option and it’s always on for me. Plus they actually fit my large ears better than the Sony

Totally agree buddy....just got some and they sound incredible,like say something like led zeppelin,u can hear every little detail of each instrument and hearing stuff in my music i never heard before...And DnB well that's almost emotional how good the bass sounds....cost me 400 notes but i wud say there well worth it...yup outstanding,I give em a extra boost with the IFI go blu dac in wired mode with balanced sound cause they have the 2.5mm jack so yeah use that dac with tidal app and they really do shine through that...but being careful in 4.4mm balanced sound connection on the ifi dac ...they go well louder than the built in one...but gotta be careful not to blow em...400 bills ouch!! But yups WOW!!!! BOOMIN!!!

Hey there! Great job, thanks for your videos! Could you tell me please which one of them more suits for audiobooks and podcasts, I mean where are voices more natural and pleasant? Actually I already got Bose qs ultra and find them quite good for listening audiobooks but still I can change them if Sennheisers make the job with voices better than Bose. Or maybe there is better headphones for my purpose?Thanks in advance.

Haha Sony was never even close.. Sony has barely catch up with better microphones for conference calls but now bose just skyrocketed.

While I totally thank you for this review, I felt the sound was slightly better than the Bose qc45 but not better than the Bose 700s. The NC on these were the best I have I heard in any headphones. But the combo of sound and NC the XM5's were much better. Thanks

My gf got me both for my birthday 2 weeks ago and i gotta say that the Bose QC Ultra only does a bit more than the XM5s in terms of bass for its price. Plus its mic is kinda trash compared to the Sony. Only time I use it is when i watch anime but for everyday use i def prefer the Sony. The Bose gotta offer more when you're charging 400, otherwise the only real reason to buy these is if you're a die hard Bose fans and you're just making the purchase for the brand name
