The only two updates on the Bose Ultra is the AI dialogue mode and Bluetooth 5.0 otherwise it is identical to Soundbar 900 which I own. In my opinion the Soundbar 900's sound quality is absolutely stellar and leaves nothing at all to be desired whether watching content or listening to music. Engaging Dialogue mode on the Soundbar 900 decreases the bass response significantly to the degree that it is anemic and the AI Dialogue mode supposedly resolved that issue to some degree allowing more of the bass response to be retained. I have never had a issue hearing dialogue with the Soundbar 900 therefore I there isn't any need to upgrade to the Ultra. Excellent straightforward overview of the Ultra.

Right brother, Upgrading to Ultra if you already have 900 is waste of money because even without A.i Dailogue mode (Ultra) or dialogue mode (900) both have similar hardware produces clear vocals details in layers so not required for upgrade instead I think Bose should provide updates/fixes on bugs to 900 models regarding connection issues app issues .

Hey! first plz tell ,me whether u just own the bar or the sub nd surrounds as well. I own just the bar and after adaptiq calibration the base is going way down...increasing base levels doesn't fix much the base. turning off adaptiq the base comes but sound isn,t that good

I have the soundtouch 300 and it's brilliant in my opinion. I have a couple of questions though. I struggled with getting my firestick to play sound through I'm the soundbar. I have 1 arc port on the back of the TV. However I discovered if I plug my firestick into the hdmi in directly, into the bose soundbar. Then use a hdmi cable from the arc hdmi out from the soundbar to arc on the TV it works lovely. My questions are. 1. Am I missing an easier way to watch and hear sound from the soundbar. I tried with the stick directly into the TV hdmi 4. Then run a hdmi cable from arc to arc hmdi tv to sound bar with no joy 2. Does the ultra sound bar have the hdmi in and hdmi arc sockets so I could copy my setup now which works lovely. 3. My tv doesn't have eArc so would I get the overhead immersive experience. Any help would be brilliant thanks.

Hi i have the 600 for my 85 inch TV and the 500 Bass Module...sounds pretty dam good.....BUT I think i want a bit more so i ordered the BOSE 900 ( was on sale for 575 usd ) so i took the plunge...hope its a noticeable difference ....your thoughts ?......MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL.....cheers from Vulcan Canada

I’ve been going back and forth on these Soundbars for,a year or more. I bought a Sony television (A80 J) almost two years ago and lean toward the A7000 soundbar. But the cost is what has kept me from deciding. The cost of the Sony A7000 is $1000 or more and have seen reviews that claim some have problems with the operation of the bar. Then there are the reviews that claim you will need a bass module to really enjoy the sound and that means another $700. I have had a Bose speaker system we bought nearly 25 years ago and I was impressed with the sound but nothing lasts forever and the cost to repair got to be too much. The Bose 900 was another option I looked at because of Boses’ reputation for excellent sound quality. They were priced at $899 and I considered that option but again the reviews stressed the need for a subwoofer and an additional expense. I’ve always been a Sony guy when it came to televisions and audio equipment. But with the addition of this new sounbar by Bose they have dropped the price of the 900 to $699. Just a tough decision and with my preference for Sony I just can’t seem to decide what to do. The other options in Sony are the A5000 and several others but I’m concerned with losing sound quality to save a few dollars. Needless to say I don’t know if I’ll ever make up my mind. However I do appreciate the reviews that ABT posts on the different equipment available.

I am in same dilemma. Just order Sony A95L 65 inches. Need to pick up a soundbar/subwoofer . Narrow it down to this Bose Smart Ultra soundbar with 700 subwoofer. Sony A7000 or A5000 soundbar with subwoofer. Or sennheiser Ambeo Plus & 1 subwoofer. 🤔

@@richardrybarczyk1143 Now I am leaning Devialet Dione soundbar after watching more RU-vid videos like “ Audio Advice” name it best soundbar in 2023. Cost 2k but no subwoofer needed. Couple hundred more then Bose with 700 module subwoofer.

I think the AI feature is a gimmick and certainly does not warrant a price fifferential of $300 from the 900 series Soundbar.

@dillon9147 The bass on the soundbar by itself is good, and you can definitely use it without a separate sub, but having the Bass Module 500 or 700 paired with it sounds quite a bit better. It also makes the overall audio sound much better as it allows the soundbar to focus on the mids and highs while the subwoofer takes care of the low tones. My family is looking for a sound bar, we have an older tv that has terrible sound (a 14 yo plasma from Panasonic (was a top of the line back then)), anyways, the sound quality is terrible and lately it’s been insane with movies being so loud on action and so quiet on dialog. The price point is higher then I’d like but would this be a good step in or is there something less pricey that would fill the void we have?

@larsnielsen855 We think so. If you do the Smart Ultra Soundbar, a pair of Surround Speakers 700, and the Bass Module 700 you get amazing sound with Dolby Atmos support. The Lifestyle 650 does not offer Atmos support. You may get a slightly wider soundstage with the separate front channel speakers on the Lifestyle system, but we think having Atmos is a bigger benefit. Which one would you say has better surround sound? Bose 900 or Samsung Q990c?

@catrachan Right out of the box we'd give the advantage to the Samsung since it comes with separate rear surround channels and a wireless sub. If you add a Bose bass module and Bose surrounds then it's a closer matchup, but the total cost for the Bose will be higher. @@abtelectronics thanks! Let’s say full Bose system vs the q990c? I have the full Bose but I’ve read so many good things about the Samsung (except the bass which seems like the Bose 700 bass module is better)

@catrachan They're honestly both great sounding systems. It's hard to say what someone else will like better because not everyone has the same priorities with what they're looking for. As a company, we sell more of the Bose 900 Soundbars than the Samsung Q990C, but that doesn't necessarily mean one is better than the other.

The 990c is miles ahead of Bose for movies/gaming (360 sound). Even with the surrounds from Bose, which are the worst in the market right now, the Samsung just does all of it much better. The sub 700 on the Bose is better, but it's just too expensive for me. There is no way anybody could justify the price for the surrounds plus the 700 sub compared to stars currently on the market. The Bose performs a tad bit better in Music, but if that's your priority and you want to get a soundbar, get the Sonos. The reason Bose sells a lot, is only because it's a household name for good audio. Many people don't expect Samsung or Sony to sound as good as the Bose. People relate Bose to hi-fi audio.

Instead of getting the Ultra, just get the surround speakers, it’ll make a huge difference. But I have to admit, for the price I am not sure if it would be better to just get the Samsung Q990C… I got the 900+700 bass module+speakers which I just got, but I have a couple of weeks to return if I want… but until now I’m already over $2500 CAD…
