Wow! What an awesome video. I was getting ready to take it to someone to see if they could repair it! I used to very single charging cable I could find. Finally I found the right one. You are awesome. Many thanks!
Great video! Just had a similar experience with a Bose Soundlink Mini my girlfriend had around but hadn't used in years. Similar to you, I plugged in a AC cable but didn't have any lights showing up like yours did. However, I was using the power supply from my Logitech Steering wheel, which was 24volts, to no luck! After you said you had picked up your lower voltage router PSU, I ran and grabbed a spare I had under my bed and hey presto! Instant lights and seems to be working! Moral of the story, make sure you have the correct voltage power supply, more powerful ones will not work at all (from my experience).
Hello. I have a box of this same model and am without getting league for years there, because the red light blinks and does not carry. Can you help me? Thank you. Thanks from Brazil.
@@wilsonsimonalflutedesouza3430 You can try updating the firmware. Connecting it up to your pc via the USB connection and look for the firmware update from the Bose website. It should talk you through the steps. Hopefully that might work for you. Good luck!
Thank you so much for this video. Thought that it was the end of my mini sound system. Would not charge. Pressed the Reset button and now back in working condition.
Hi Steve. Having stumbled across your channel recently, I viewed and enjoyed the one the algorithm offered. I subscribed immediately as this is just the kind of quirky nonsense that appeals to me. I thought I’d go back and see where it all started. We’ll, you have come on, haven’t you! I love the humour and self-depreciation. I can now waste hours of my spare time smiling and chuckling. (I wish I had your level of skill by the way).
I have seen so many Videos from you in the last days. A NICE channel so far. Show the world that that you never give up and improve new skills. I really like your way of doing your Stuff.
Great! I'm the world's worst at using 'instructions' so frequently find such issues difficult to remedy. I've learned that Bose Sound Link mini can require resetting since finding mine wouldn't charge (re-charge). Also, I now use the charger power in plug directly into the speaker - not the base and it seems to work fine now. Regards! MickFromHooe.
Your knickers. Bahahaha. Just found you few days ago. Ex pat (Essex boy) nova Scotia strong. Really enjoying the vids and your evolution. Dry, very dry. Love it. Thanks for doing what you do.
Thank you for the video. As you can see you don't need to replace the battery to repair the bose soundlink mini!!! Just plug in to the side directly a charger with 12V 1Amp and IT WILL start to charge!!!! If not take the battery out and reinsert it and try again!!! IT WORKS!!! Congrats! I just save you $30 replacement battery and time. Your welcome.
Thanks heaps Steve. My unit is also charging after a 10-second reset. One is led to ask the obvious question: why does the unit need to be reset? Is this a function Bose designed-in to protect the charger &/or battery from damage in an overheating scenario, when charging via mains power??
It works! Glad i found this video. Changed new battery and I have used different adaptor @ 1 amp. Bose charger doesn’t work even with new battery but the speaker works fine. Thanks
Thanks for the video. I have a soundlink mini 2 with red light flashing which has old usb input on side. Tried updating but still the same. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
@@StezStixFix thanks for the quick reply. The problem is mini 2 battery is soldered and I am sure I am not qualified for it. Bose is asking for $60 to fix it (conversion from my country currency) which is insane.
red light blinking means bad battery. there is not much you can do. Chinese generic batteries will not work because the internal battery chip. Only bose original battery will work so im affraid you have to go to bose and paid the 60 for fix.
Hi I’ve got the Bose soundlink 2 when I go onto Bose updater it doesn’t go to advanced or anything. Just states version 1.1.4 then under that it says. Prevent premature entry into battery shipping mode. But won’t let me do anything Can you please help
I’ve basically binged all your videos to date, and I enjoy the hell out of them, my wife as well. Would love to see you do more television sets, lcd, plasma. Keep up with the great content as well
I had to replace the battery on mine because it would not hold a charge anymore. The new battery would not work since. I just reset it and it is charging and I was able to sync it to my phone. Thank you
I am having one that I fixed after many attempts. It couldn't power on the amplifier, so no sound. Believe that other similar symptoms are related to it. The ribbon connector on I/O board was oxydated. This is the small board you attached the power supply, sound input etc. Just carefully remove the back mesh and the green board is well exposed. The white ribbon connector is taped with gray sponge. R
I had the same problem with my speaker! When I turn it on though the battery symbol disappears but it still works. Is this okay? Thank you so much for your video, great help with step by step!
Normally you find the item is already up to date, and the only way around this is to cut the wires linking the battery to to the electronic board inside and re solder them in on the replacement battery if you can find a decent one , if not it’ll end up like any other battery powered item .In the bin!
my BOSE SOUNDLINK MINI doesnt charge ..I didnt use for past few weeks ..only RED BLINKING when i attached the charging plug///what will I do.its 7-8 years already this blutooth speaker
Sorry to hear that Hero. If you've tried resetting and a new battery, then I think it will likely be the firmware that is at fault. Unfortunately, unless you have a version 2, then you can't reflash the firmware and it will have to go in for repair or back to Bose 😫
I am in new Delhi. My mini Bose it's charing but after connecting for a second it's stops leaving bt, speaker and u lights remain on. Share mob no of ur authorise repair shop
Hola el mío si carga pero ya intenté con lo del silencio pero no me funcionó, el mío lo que tiene es que enciende todos los botones encienden pero no me agarra :( podrías ayudarme ?
I bought another one that had the flashing red light (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cjmTtJxJcLM.html) and I fixed it by replacing the battery. Is your SoundLink Mini a version 1 or 2?
@@StezStixFix mine is sounlink mini version 1 , what is available in my place is only replacement battery not original battery from bose. Im a bit doubtful to buy coz its a bit expensive and not sure if it will solve the red blinking problem.
@@camillusrenz6298 Yes, it won't always solve the problem. Maybe you could buy one to try, and return the battery if it doesn't solve it? Failing that, it might be a costly repair!
I have fixed one that flashes red (in another video) by replacing the battery. Maybe you could try that? Failing that, it does seem to be a firmware problem!
Just some constructive criticism, your intro is terribly slow and you are so slow in getting to the fix. Get to the point on a fix it video, people aren’t here for stories and entertainment
@Sinful Gaming everything that is done on RU-vid is definitely not for entertainment and disclaimers are for legal purposes. I don’t know why you’re getting offended on behalf of the video creator. If they don’t want the feedback they can delete my comment. I’m not saying I don’t appreciate the time and work they put in but who knows, maybe one day they want to make videos for a profit and a little constructive criticism might help. Have a nice day
