I just got myself a pair today. First of all, they are the most comfortable. I don’t like anything in my ear or covering my entire ear. The sound is surprisingly good for open earbuds. I’m not experiencing any of the other problems anyone else is. I don’t hear static. There’s no dinging between songs. I’m not using this for phone calls though. I’m using it strictly to listen to music. My husband’s a professional musician. He tested them out and said they were super comfortable and they sound surprisingly good. I don’t know why everyone is so negative about these. You can’t compare these to any other type of Earbud except for an open type. There are not that many on the market. The only negative things are the cost and that the battery can’t be replaced. I was ready to return these after seeing all these videos. But I think it’s an individual experience for each person.

Are you able to get ahold of the Huawei Freeclips and compare those to the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds? That would be more of an Apples to Apples type comparison. Some of us travel overseas and can get them. I've seen other reviews but you seem to be more thorough and I'm really curious about your opinion. Thanks!

Won these for free. The privacy is better than I expected, they don’t bleed that much. About 60-70% power you don’t have bleeding at all.. My biggest flaw is that I noticed everyone I call say the microphone is horrendous. I always have to use my phone speaker so I’m not annoying them.
@dominice1583

My guess is that they had to charge this much because of all the advertising and celebrity sponsors to sell this completely new design/idea. Maybe they get somewhat good feedback and can invest more of their money into the features of the headphones.

Also when I’m watching videos I’m surprised on the range these headphones have. I can hear the quality differences between everyone’s microphone. Your voice sounds crisp on these headphones. In my experience

I am looking for earbuds that don’t hurt my ears. These hurt me very much. I have tried AirPods and Apple beats. They both hurt the inside of my ears, like the ear drums. Not the fit. So I figured the ANC maybe the issue. I tried Shokz open fit and now Bose ultra open and my ear drums don’t hurt. But the fit hurts the exterior of my ear. The only one I have used that doesn’t hurt me are my old jabra headset with mike that I have used all day on my computer for work. I am looking for something for personal use on my iPhone. Any other recommendations?

I have had these buds for a week now, and I think they're great. They are (too) expensive and they aren't perfect, but I disagree with several of your points. That they don't use a touch sensor is a plus for me (no accidental commands from hoodies, cushions etc.). The buttons are big, but are nicely placed. And they have lots of functions. The sound is good and I didn't experience the bluetooth dropouts or static (using an android phone). I also never needed to have it at 75% or higher volume and I used it on trains, at work, walking, biking etc. I also asked people next to me at work or in the car, if they could hear the music while I had it at 50%. And they said they couldn't.

There are not many selections for open-air headphones, i had airpaod 1 & 2 gen, they are not open air, and i had one broken and one lost. My Sony linkbud just broken. Honestly, it sucks, especially when I wear them longtime, it just breaks my ear, and the sound quality bad. I believe bose is the best and only option for me so far. It is so comfortable. the only issue is, and i want to ask, doesn't anyone feel the volume is too low?

HUAWEI FREECLIPS are awesome open ear buds with great call quality is the reason I opt for them instead of the Bose. They also somewhat have noise cancel where I have to actually stop my music to fully hear someone talking to me. Sound bleed was also at a minimum with the freeclips I work in a very quiet office and had no issue with people hearing my music unless it was at 100 percent volume. Reviews on call quality that I listened to for Bose was terrible and people could hear my conversation and music unless they are real low on the Bose. Don’t want to waste money and have to return 🤷🏽‍♀️

I bought a pair yesterday, phone call quality was terrible & music had occasional pops & drops. Just updated to 1.10.4 & these issues seem to have disappeared. Loving not having something in my ear canal or earpods that fall out every time I tip my head.

I ding sound between media pauses is wild! What were they thinking. All we need is a open earbud with good bass. They should fire the whole R&D team, it's not that not that deep. I hope you try JBL's SoundGear Sense open earbuds, when they come out next month. Some countries have them already and I heard they actually got deep bass unlike anything in its class. They supposed to kill the competition point blank period. I can't wait 🤞

Just a suggest for you future videos how 'bout instead of saying hash but true, hash but here's my opinion of the BOSE Ultra Earbuds and list your personal objections. As you've read comments from others like my self we really like them regardless of the price. Otherwise you're creating click bait, unless that's your motivation. We live in such devise times and as Bill Mauer said can we turn the volume down from something other than 11?

@Fredo.heavyy I honestly preferred them to the aorofit pros. I think it comes down to how the driver unit sits. The V30's sit a bit lower on my ears than the pro's, so I get more of the sound directed into my ears. Look forward to your views on them. 👍

@MacsForever1
@MacsForever1 4 месяца назад
OK I'm going to challenge what you're saying because I really like them and "hears" why. They are super lightweight, compact, sound great AND they are very comfortable to wear. While there are other options for open air ear buds they aren't comfortable and they are vey clunky looking. BTW their discreteness or fashion statement is not why I wear them as others have said. They DO NOT have a serious sound bleed issue with others being able to hear them like you claim. You must be in a quiet library and if that's the case why would you turn up the volume? The popping issue you describe have been fixed with the latest firmware update. This issue wasn't caught before they were released but you've gotta give these guys a break because as these defects are revealed they fix them right away. Was your computer software perfect the day it was released? Definitely not. But you need to at a certain point stop testing and put the product out in the wild. I don't know what you're talking about with the audio sounding muffled in videos. Have you downloaded the BOSE app and adjusted the EQ? I'm listening to your video and you sound great although I disagree with your opinions. :/ As far as the price if I'm able to enjoy them without what I'm about to describe, they're worth it to me. I own the Quiet Comfort II and while they sound awesome they irritate my ears after a short time wearing them. My ears end up itching and then they start weeping. This wetness eventually dries and I get crusty flaking. I know sounds weird but as I've read many others have experienced the same issues with in ear earbuds as allergic reaction to the silicon ear piece. This is especially why I like them. This compliant is not limited to BOSE as I experienced it with my Sennheiser ear buds too. With all earbuds no matter what you think of them, your ears will get sore and they must be removed. These can be worn ALL DAY LONG! In fact because they are so comfortable I sometimes forget I'm wearing them. Is the sound like my Quiet Comfort II's? Not exactly but damn close and awesome for an open ear bud system. You don't get it. Doing a reboot improving the Quiet Comfort II adding the features that you feel are missing will not change my discomfort with them. These are a COMPLETELY different category of headphones. Kudos to BOSE attempting to improve their initial release of their earlier version of open ear headphone.....and they succeeded! This design is a bold step forward and that's what BOSE does as the innovating leader in sound products. I still have my first generation noise cancelling over the ear headphones with the clunky box in the wire made over 20 years ago! Other manufactures at the time were scratching their heads how they came up with this idea. If you don't know what I'm talking about, google it. Others just copy BOSE. Watch, there will be similar products from SONY, SAMSUNG and others with the rubber strap around the ear. Pure genius. They are NOT wasting their time on this category. This category will only get bigger in the future as they refine the category with future releases. Finally about the noise cancelling, if I want the noise cancelling feature I will wear my over the ear noise cancelling headphones, that won't "earitate" my ears. I'm definitely keeping my BOSE Ultra Open Earbuds...and they are not flawed as you claim, just being continually refined with future firmware updates. David
@Fredo.heavyy
@Fredo.heavyy 4 месяца назад
Really poured your heart out, I respect that. You made some great points but the stark reality is, Bose copied other preexisting open ear designed, made them marginally “better” removed some features and decided to add the “BOSE” tax. While the buds w/ firmware update are usable and sound ok. They’re not priced or spec competitively enough for their target audience. If history repeats itself these will be discounted by EOY 2024.

So I started out with Sennheiser Momentum True 3 earbuds. They irritated my ears so I returned them. Thinking that all in ear earbuds are not all the same I went out on a limb and purchased The BOSE Quiet Comfort II's and the same thing they irritated me but because I didn't know about the open ear category at the time I kept them living with the discomfort thinking that this is as good as is gets. Enter this new category of open ear head phones that I discovered. Hmmm these might be good to look into. So now as a experienced consumer I set up some criteria for open ear head phones and I wanted all the boxes that were important to me to be checked or I would take a pass: * They have to comfortable and not hurt my ears. CHECK * They have to be lightweight and not bulky like all the other open air head phones. CHECK * They must sound good realizing they won't sound as good as in ear head phones CHECK * They must be comfortable in bed when I lay on my side. These are the FIRST headphones I can wear to bed and fall asleep to music while wearing them. With all the others it's like wearing a light bulb sticking in your ear when I lay on my side. BIG CHECK * Noise cancellation wasn't important to me because I have both BOSE N700 and Sennheiser Momentum 4 over the ear head phones for noise cancellation when I'm mowing the lawn or on an airplane. CHECK While I would like these to be more affordable they check all the boxes for me and that's why I bought them. You can call it BOSE tax just like they call it Apple tax but when they both make a great products they can demand a higher price. Why would they discount them? It's called capitalism. Only when another equal product competes with them feature for feature will they discount their product. Not all open ear head phones are created equal. How many open ear head phones have a rubber strap that grips your ear and are oh so comfortable. Zero. That's why they can charge $299.00. BTW I don't listen to specs. I listen to music and I thing they sound great. And you might be right that they will probably discontinued end of year 2024 being replaced by BOSE Open Earbuds II. :) David@heavyy

With all due respect, you need to do your homework better before reviewing. Your reference to driver size is wrong for both models from Bose. "Bose says these have a larger 12mm driver compared to the 9.4mm driver found in the QC Ultra Earbuds."

@@Fredo.heavyy I love them, coming from AirPods and beats over the ear. Great for the gym, being able to talk to someone else without having to remove a AirPod is great. With the AirPods I had trouble going 2 hours with them in my ears. Now with these I can wear all day. Today I forgot I had them on and I didn't realize will I was in the shower at the gym! I dont know of any other style head phones that dont hurt my ears. I also love being able to talk to co workers while listen to my pod casts. If you ever come across something better than these ( open ear only) Let me know!!!

You completely missed the point of why anyone would buy these. It's for people that don't wanna stick some shit in their ears, and there aren't that many alternatives. If you're ok with sticking shit in your ears, your choices are literally endless, from some cheap Hama buds for 10 bucks, all the way to Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus Buds, which are like 850 bucks.

@@Fredo.heavyy Samsung Galaxy buds live!!! those are they only earbuds I can wear all day with decent sound and good bass. I got xm5s and Airpods pro 2 and other expensive earbuds but what's the point if I can't wear them that long without feeling irritated. I hate how the in-ear earbuds make you feel so secluded. That's why natural transparency is king. I'm a delivery driver so I can't be constantly switching from my car speakers to my phones, than to my earbuds. Then having to pause or take out my earbuds when making a stop to talk to customers. With the buds live I just use them all day while driving and interacting with customers and my surroundings. The only thing is, I want something new to replace them but haven't found anything better than them, besides the JBL live flex, but just my luck they aint even available in the USA 🤬😤 Lol
