I have both hole systems I love bose products they are excellent but always make me fell that they are overprice the problem whit the Bose 900 is that lose sound from one day to the next one and there's some videos on yutube talking about this I think is a problen whit th HDMI ARC mine keeps doing the same once in a while, whit the Sonos if you have the Arc the Sub Gen3 and 2 of the Era300 is another level they raise the bar to high for Bose is that simple, expensive too but totally worth it
You can change the surround speaker volume on the Bose… in the app. Audio settings… accessories… surround… dial it up. Same as the bass mod. And you can edit the centre cancel also etc. It’s much better. Sonos has nothing on Bose for audio quality. The fact they are MIT led and owned is impressive that it’s about audio quality more than anything. Pair it with the new portable PA system and it will blow you away. But that is over kill. We have Bose SH 300s in each bedroom and bathroom, Bose SH 500 in the kitchen and a SH portable for the balcony. Our neighbours HATE US.
I have owned the soundbar 900 since two weeks after its release and I have never had a problem hearing dialogue. I've always had Dialogue Mode engaged since day one. The dialogue is as crystal clear as it gets so as far as I am concerned this new AI Dialogue feature is just a useless gimmick. Instead of Bose innovating a useful feature they came out with this nonsense. I have the omnijewels but I would love it if Bose would release some excellent upward firing rear speakers like all other manufacturers. I have been a fan of Bose forever but all other manufacturers are light years past Bose with their features and tech. If Bose doesn't get with the program the next time I upgrade it will definitely be in another direction.
I honestly thought the A.I dialogue was a gimmick but I tried playing scenes with a lot of whispering or in heavy action scenes and it does seem to do a good job which pleasantly surprised me, I personally rarely turn on dialogue mode on any soundbar as it tends to give a priority to the high frequencies and bass usually sounds much more tame but with the A.I it automatically adjusts itself. The Ultra sounds great and get surprisingly loud but the surrounds as you mentioned are definite weak points, they can’t compare to the era 300s from Sonos or even the surrounds on Samsung’s flagship since both have Atmos, the up firing drivers on the Ultra are also not as good as the Sonos Arc, I agree that Bose needs to put more focus on advancing their technology.
Calibrate the speakers, put a towel on top of the speakers to drive the speakers to pick up sounds while calibrating them. It works great after you that.
Amen. They need to get with the innovation or it’s bye bye Bose. Being in that industry for such a long time and letting new comers beat them at their own game.
I had the 300, 700 then 900 like 18 months later and now 16 months later the ultra. And I can tell you the AI audio makes it even better. It’s amazing. And it engages the surround speakers even more now. Amazing. Jurassic park… as a test 🤯
Bose has definitely fell off as the previous poster said how did they let Sonos a fairly new company beat them at there own game. Bose needs to innovate they are WASTING TIME concentrating on making there components smaller instead of better sounding. It seem to be the only thing that has changed in the last ten years BOSE you were #1 because of sound NOT size please get back to making phenomenal sound we do not need smaller and smaller equipment.
Hey, you said it has DTS:X support but I can't find that information anywhere. Can you confirm that this new Bose smart ultra soundbar supports not only Dolby Atmos but DTS:X as well? Thanks
You would be forced to use a Bose sub with this sound bar, the Ambeo max from Sennheiser while much more expensive, can be connected to any sub with a wired connection.
@gsotelo1053 I seen that I've had the bose 700 and 700 sub before. I upgraded to svs prime wireless pro and goldenar forcefield 40 for a 2.1 for t.v and Bluetooth. But I was looking for when I get a house. I also like the dragon but at that pricepoint I feel like a 5.1 would beat it in overall detail. Sennheiser I see mixed reviews about connection difficulty. Also I tried the s660 headphones with a dragonfly red amp from sennheiser. There soundsignature is a bit unique to me. Idk if it's my favorite.
@@Capybarainahumansuit I would honestly recommend Sonos, your product isn’t replaced and abandoned every year, you can scale it to 7.2.4 for under $2,500, you can build a multi room system, Sonos gives you a generous discount once a replacement product comes out just for having the previous gen with no trade in required, and aesthetically it’s less obtrusive then seperate speakers with a receiver.
Yes the full featured remote of the 700 is much better but with more and more soundbars now relying on apps and control from your tv or streamer remote I think we are going to see more companies do the same thing, Sonos eliminated the remote all together
You don’t need a remote. It’s all via smart phone anyway. The remote is in a draw. You won’t need it if you have a good tv. Invest in the LG G365. That remote manages everything. And the picture and audio together. ❤
The Bose sounds great for gaming, it gets really loud with good bass and clarity, for gaming in Dolby Atmos however I would go with Sonos, the Sonos Arc has better side and overhead effects, that’s especially important now that PS5 will be supporting Dolby Atmos in games in the coming weeks, the Arc on its own also sounds fantastic but it really shines with Dolby Atmos games I’ve been testing as part of the PS5 beta, if you are planning on adding surrounds then absolutely go with Sonos and get the Era 300s, it’s no contest.
I honestly thought it was a gimmick at first but the more content I played the more I realized I didn’t have to adjust volume manually, I usually have always watched movies with the remote in my hand but I put the remote down with this soundbar more often since I could hear everything clearly, it actually does what it says it does
To my taste I left the setting at default for my testing, I think soundstage is about as good as you can get from a soundbar at this price, the Arc sounds a bit wider in my room but the Bose seemed to have a slightly more defined soundstage.
@gsotelo1053 Okay, cause I have bose Soundbar 900, and to me, they seem the same. The only difference i see is probably the AI dialogue, so I'm not sure if it's worth it for me to get it.
@@primeSkippy As far as I can tell, the main difference between the two is the A.I, if you don’t have a hard time hearing dialogue from your 900 I would not upgrade as like you said everything else is pretty much the same, I do however like the bar automatically adjusting to make voices sound clear no matter what, if I were you I wouldn’t spend $900 to upgrade and move the 900 to a different room, I would try to sell it and just pay $200-$250 difference for the new one.
