Saving Matt was... not his best idea. With that unwinding clock + darksteel forge + infinite mana + planar bridge I would have let him die. He was WAY too scary by then.

I think this is one of my favorite games that has occurred just because of the shenanigans that occurred not only on board but personality wise. From the deal to the simulation of the infinite mana amazing game I enjoyed it tones, thank you for making such beautiful content it is greatly appreciated.

Yeah the problem with that thought was that by then Mike had constant mists and enough lands to basically make it a punt, even if crater had come out.

If Matt had infinite colorless the turn he tutored Dross Scorpion, he could've won that turn by sacrificing spine, untapping planar bridge, activating bridge, tutoring any red-producing artifact, and then continued to cast and throw the spine untapping that red source until the table was dead? That being said, it's super cool that Matt was able to win with actual Comet Storm! :D

He still could have won that turn, tapping gilded lotus to use Bosh's ability saccing himself, then recasting with the infinite mana, while also saccing spine to blow every permanent on the board

@@igorgrecia3915 no, he can't get infinite Mana before he finds some thing like a Pentavus, which allows him to make and sacrifice an artifact creature for 2 Mana to untap lotus. Bosh himslef can't do that, even with the Daretti emblem(it only brings back artifacts at end step), plus putting Bosh back to command zone doesn't trigger dross scorpion

Windgrace is a card that you want to use about mid game. Bringing it out early was his downfall. It is good for card draw but if you have other cards in your deck like Seers Sundial and for mana ramp Crucible of Worlds. About turn 5 to 6 is when you want to play Windgrace because his only threat is his -11 ability which takes a few turns to get to. Also, having cards like Dragon Arch will allow you to get BIG creatures onto the field quickly without having to use all your mana

I know he used Planar Bridge to get Top so it didn't really matter, but he could have just used the infinite mana from Rings + Monolith to pay for the Rings Trigger on Top's tap ability so Top draw's a card, goes to top of library, then draws itself. Requires less moving parts.

I am sorry I am confused. How was Tyler able to cast azusa turn 1 if he named elves for cavern of souls? Wouldn’t he have had to name humans to cast Azusa since if he named elves the cavern wouldn’t be able to tap for green? Can someone clarify this

People walking by. The tripod was on carpet so it was shifting. The shop is PACKED on Thursdays now. We regularly see 30-40 people, so there's a great deal of foot traffic.

Lotus Cobra is hands down the most broken card in Windgrace. Results in more turn 2/3 nastiness than I'd like to admit. The dream is resolving turn 3 Windgrace, downticking and then resolving Jokulhaups. I'm determined but doubtful lol

They did, but I think they caught it when it came back to the field. From the audio, Matt didn't blow anything up when it returned.

But he didn't need Pentavus. Could've ended earlier since he has infinite colorless, Sac'ing Spine to Bosh then untap Gilded Lotus with Dross Scorpion trigger then having infinite red mana then infinitely sac'ing Spine to Bosh which then results to infinite destroy and damage.

If I were Mike (and I'm not), I woulda let Matt die, even without knowing about the Verdict. Dude had Darksteel Forge and Planar Bridge out, and Constant Mists at least lets you hold out against the torrent of dudes from Tyler's boardstate, but won't protect you against the artifact player comboing out.

When you sac your mindstone but it’s the 8th mana you can produce with artifacts and you have a planar bridge with unwinding clock out 🤦🏻‍♂️ should have used 3 activations to find Forge, lattice, disk and win like 2 turns faster than he did

Technically, it does a little because Cavern of Souls can't create colored mana for anything but creatures of the chosen type. However, this could be easily remedied by playing a Forest first or, as you said, naming Human instead.

Matt should have won the turn he got Dross Scorpion out. He can add to his infinite colorless mana infinite red mana by sacrificing bosh to itself and using scorpion to untap gilded lotus. Then recast bosh and do that until everyone is dead

Azusa is one scary HUMAN MONK... I suppose I could mention the fact that Cavern of Souls naming "elves" means Tyler couldn't use it to play Azusa on turn 1, but that only means everything he did would have been done one turn later, which hardly changes the outcome of the game. It doesn't change the how disgustingly explosive Azusa can be.
