Bosnian Prime Minister Haris Silajdzic has reacted with guarded optimism to Tuesday's Bosnia peace accord in New York.
He said he had given his team in New York the green light to continue with the negotiations and emphasised the importance of the peace accord's recognition of Bosnia Herzegovina as a single state.
SOUNDBITE:
Yes, we've been working on that for the last 24 hours and we have given our delegation in New York the green light to accept what we believe to be a good step forwards. I think it does give our future Bosnian state necessary superstructure and the minimum of institutions, and the minimum of attributes of a state. We have our constitution, parliament, president, cabinet and that means the continuation of what we have now and that is a continuation of a legal existence of our state.
Question: It appears that this is an agreement to agree, an agreement to further negotiations. What is the next step?
Answer: I understand that Mr. Holbrooke and his colleagues will come here once again to the region and I understand that the next step is to form some kind of a conference, a probable proximity talks and continue with this.
