Thank you, Boss. This pedal is incredible. I have a QC. The amp models on the GX100 actually sound better. People will eventually recognize the genius of this device.
Hey lads just found your channel so freakin’ glad i did! Great review and in fact you’ve changed my mind for me I was going for the gt1000 but after seeing how simple and stress free the GX100 looks I’m going to give it a bash so thanks..and yes I have kids 8 of them so ease of use is paramount! Sláinte lads!🤘😎👍🇮🇪💀🤘
I had a gx-100 for a few days and returned it. It was so difficult to use. Not intuitive at all. I even watched RU-vid videos to help and I just couldn’t get my head around it. Now with an me-80 and very happy. (In manual mode)
I bought both to compare. The GT1000 wins by a mile. If you can differentiate tones and sounds you’ll for sure be able to tell… for a beginner the gx is fine but for anyone who’s been playing for a long time, save the extra cash and get the big boy
It’s February 2024 as I leave my comment. I’ve done a price check for the GX-100 against the GT-1000 Core. How is it that they are available for the same price, despite the fact that there’s so much more you can do in realtime with the GX-100 than with Core?
The idea of only 1 block "type" on the 1000 is a bit misleading. Other than reverb, which I hate and do not use anyway, there are many different modulation, delay, and dynamic blocks available. A little tweaking and you can make any modulation block very close to any mod effect you want. You can tweak a delay effect into a vibe, slicer, another chorus etc. You can make a boost, eq, distortion- etc, all mimick each other fairly easily. You are only limited by your knowledge of how effect types work
Most of the pros don't use these only the bedroom guys. So why are they making them harder & harder to use. And not making them wireless. Every one is using wireless guitar microphone wireless pa cos people are sick to death of leads. But putting the effects board on the ground with power leads and leads coming out .it sort of defeats the purpose. Come on guys it's year 2022 pick it up maker's
I am thinking the next Boss GT 1000 pedal board will push the envelope further with nice updates like a touch screen. I can wait. You would think with the heavy competition out there the revised GT 1000 will be out within the next 2 to 3 years. It will then be a permanent guitar processor for me
Have the unit for a year now. The only thing this unit which I find lacking is good distortion or high gain Od it is missing that omphhh push. But clean and slight OD it seems super close to an analog pedal
I kinda just hope boss will let me choose whatever effect i want in gt1000 and sy1000 Sy1000 especially since i need more distortion/overdrive block I use external reverb anyway
‘A little easier to use’. GT Core is like your using a device made by a person who love his Nokia 3300. GX100 is like your using an IPhone by comparison. I have both and would never go back to Gt core
Not bad at all.!👌 Love the "DAMAGED" shirt.🤘 i still remember that gig, that friday night at The Great Britain back in the day..😂😂😂 Brutal night and show👍🤘
Hi, my name is Ron. Thanks for this video!! I think that the various video’s and comments on the GX-100, in particular the tone tests GX-100 vs GT-1000 show that this is a high level product. But personally I wonder which tone-/ sound differences I might expect between the GX-100 and the GT-1 (because I have one) or the GT-100 (both having many basics in common). This is my situation: I’m using a Boss GT-1, connected to the clean channel of a Roland Blues Cube Stage amp and I play on an Ibanez 2395 (45 years old semi-hollow with super 70’s humbuckers) and a Fender American Pro Strat HSS. I play various styles and use original as well as altered (in Boss Tone Studio) patches. Problem is that a number of those patches with a certain degree of distortion sound rather harsh, impure, unnatural in my ears. Would the GX-100 solve this problem? Or could I have a problem in the configuration of my set-up? If the tone/ sound of the GX-100 is much better, then I’ll certainly buy one.
I had that amp and when I use the GT 10 back in the day, it sounds horrible, it's better to use a pedal board connected to a pair of speakers or monitors
you can stack the same effects on the gx-100 but you cant really do that with all the effects on the gt-1000. on the gtk you can only have 2 distortions or 1 reverb or 1 mod delay. you would think this would not be a limit on the gtk.
actually with the gt1000 you can have from 5 to 6 distortion as you can use the 2 dedicated blocks for it but also use some of the Fx block ( 3 in stereo, 4 in mono ) and you still have a chorus block and all the delays and the reverb too + compressors and noise supressors and studio mix effects
How to go direct to mixer live with no balanced out? Or go to my studiomonitors who is balanced? Love the look of it and it seems good. Will a di-box help me to go balanced ?
I have a question for those with the knowledge. Would the amp models on a gt1000 going into the active input of a katana sound better than the actual amp sounds from the katana itself? I have experimented with both and to me the gt1000 sounds slightly better, somehow.
Is the GX 100 a good option over a pedal board when doing live gigs? I need maybe a half a dozen preset effects to be able to be used like a conventional pedalboard mainly for classic rock cover tunes. Thanks .JG
Definitely. Especially if you haven’t already built a pedalboard and sunk a few grand in it. Plus the GX100 can dial in tones around many different amps and switch between them with one button.
Very happy with my GT-1000 and SY-1000; replaced my GT-100 and GT-1 + SY-300 respectively. The iOS app for the GT-1000 works fine, as does Tone Studio, and I took the time to learn how to create patches and tweak on the unit. A color touchscreen is certainly an improvement, and the GT-1000 should have started with one. I think it will be another 2-3 years before we see the next generation GT
The only downside of GT-1000 is the 2 fixed FX channels, which I find quite bad considering that they share the same DSP in principal. I think I need something like GX-1000; flexibility of GX-100 and vanilla effects of GT-1000 like humanizer, sitar and double loop out.
