Its pointless to justify the event especially when there’s money involved to run the show. If the real intention was to promote safety, tourism and advocating physical endurance, why was there a time frame set and podium finish recognitions? The dynamics and rider behavior changes when these are in place. Good example is the Philippine loop, your own pace, you own your time.
BIMC wants to promote safety riding but also organizes riders to have little to no sleep before the ride and less time to eat and rest during the ride by imposing a 24hr requirement or the sake of challenge. It's ironic.
Most ng accidents na napanood ko sa fb, gabi nangyari and they should learn from that.
That in a sense masasabi nagtagumpay na yung LGU sa kanilang goal to promote motorcycle tourism lalo't moneyed yung mga kasali
let's be real, it's all about their ego. do it in a controlled environment like any other sports, not in public road. endurance pala gusto nila e di dun sila sa racetrack kahit isang linggo sila magpa ikot ikot dun
tama sir wala nmn tourism na napropromote cover up lng nila yun na para sa tourism gsto lng nga mga nka big bike owners na yan mag waswasan sa daan simple as that plastikan pa eh kalokohan nmn yung event
and that's the reason na dapat maban na yang BIMC, kahit sabihin pa nilang may rules or what so ever hindi niyan mapipigilan ang mga premium kamote. Best solution is to ban or stop that event.
These guys went through my town in Zambales in no time. No surprise since Subic Bay is just 40-30 minutes away from me at doon ang take off venue nila. I live 1 km away from the main highway and I can hear their engines roaring as they pass through. Ang daming reports from Zambales of these riders crashing, a few confirmed deaths sa mga nadamay sa crash, may isang comatose from our barangay, at may isang spectator na binugbog ng dalawang rider ng Ironman while a police officer watches helplessly (nangyari yan sa barangay ng parents ko, there's a video of it online). It's disheartening. And hearing comments and opinions from other people na parang wala lang sa kanila yung loss of life ng mga nadamay lang sa pointless na race na yan (yes, it's a race against time). Truly, disheartening.
Yeah, they turning our public roads as the rich kids playground! One of these days, I would love the organizers will be called to senate hearing on this matter and grilled in public! Let see about that.
Meron mga motor like Honda Big bikes, always steady on yung hazard lights, mag blink lang when you use them. - sana mabanggit rin ni Sir Zach
7:06 this is what my group did last christmas break, we did the 2023 bimc route, on our own pace on our own leisure on our own stop overs. we enjoyed it, all of us arrived safely.
I worked in Saudi Arabia, we used to travel 1200km every few months. From Dammam to Jeddah. It takes 20-24 hrs depends on how many stops you had. Our minimum speed is 120-140kph. Now I'm telling you roads in Philippines Vs roads in Saudi Arabia is way way way different.
Limit participants or do it by batch. Wag yung sobrang dami. Endurance challenge nmn so kahit di sabay sabay ang alis.
In my opinion sir zac maybe they should employ a lead car and those who would pass the lead car during the run should be DQd automatically. Using a lead car with employment of the technology they are currently using, in my opinion would prevent those issues with BIMC
Yung mga bumabyahe ng 3 araw or more.
Tourism opportunities in terms of what?! Are people flocking to these events like in Isle of Man, Dakar rallies in SA, Le Mans in France. Safety in terms of what, zooming with their blinkers top speed in public highways with little or no organizers?! Boss IronMan Endurance is a joke of an event
Very well said sir!
I think BIMC should have a Lead motorcyle in front. Parang Follow the leader lang. If lalagpasan mo yung Lead na motor from the Organizer ng event.
for me new rules should be included 1) GATEKEEP version : like from starting point to checkpoint 1 approx. should be taken for 2.5 hours but arrived after 1.75 hours(rider rode too fast), there should be a cooldown period and consume 2 hours at least from starting point to check point 1 (so rider needs to stop for 15 mins , mandatory before getting back to complete the challenge) in that way ma pipilitan silang "nako next check point maaga nanaman ako ng 30 mins" mag control ng ride pacing. like sa current route ng BIMC Subic Bay International Airport to Pangasinan Provincial Capitol Grounds, Lingayen, Pangasinan IS ALMOST 3 HOURS, kung mabilis k tapos 1 hour 30 mins mo lng kinuha yan pahinga ka 30-45 mins bago take off sa check point 2 or mandatory at least two hours mo kunin yun, kung maaga ka di k pede mag proceed until two hours sa 1st check point , then as the endurance near its end mas shorter wait time ang iset ng mga organizers or yung mga accident prone area, dun mag lalagay ang BIMC ng need to consume "x" amount of ride time.. do you agree mga paps?
I completely agree with your sentiment, and your suggestion resonates with my own thoughts. It seems prudent for the organizers to calculate only the time between each checkpoint, with each checkpoint responsible for timing the takeoff to the subsequent one. By compiling the time from checkpoint to checkpoint, the organizers can determine if a participant has completed the event. This approach would afford participants the opportunity to enjoy some time at each city or checkpoint for souvenirs or a short break, if desired. If ready to proceed, participants can simply inform the checkpoint staff and have their starting time marked again for the next leg of the journey.
Obvious namang nag overspeeding Wala ng pahinga ng 30 to 45 minutes. Safety nga pinopromote ng event.
Suggestion ko lang, with our technology and stuff. Magcreate sila ng app na gagamitin ng lahat ng sasali,sa app mismo is live track and recorded ang speed...kita agad if overspeeding na sila.yun palang enough proof of not following traffic rules and pde na revoke ang license. Just my 2 cents
im a riders also kuya ang nakikita ko po pagkakamali nila is the 24hrous endurance challenge my challenge...un po pagkakamali dyn to my view po..matic na magtutulin ka dynm..pero kung ginawa nila is with out 24hours challenge ...thats will cost trouble... mahirap po lalu pag gabi and past 12am at ang iniingatan kpo dy is the 3am oclock ,,you should be alert kadalasan pong naaaksidente sa mga oras na yan lalo pag lasing at mg mumutor napakadelikado po ....dahil dyn lagi ng aabang si karet ...the skull face ....my samahan po kmi dati noon ng riders po kya medyo my karanasan po tyo dyn .. kya be safe po and safty first prio..sa samahan at disiplina...
Imposibleng walang mag overspeed jan. 1400km in 24hrs. Min 60kph dapat all throughout eh imposibleng walang traffic light na need huminto and may time din na need mag menor. Kaya babawiin talaga nila yan pag straight line hahataw talaga 100+ kph BIMC only promotes reckless riding. Walang kwentang event yan.
Kung for tourism ang objective, mas maganda sana kung naglagay sila ng checkpoint sa bawat tourism spot ng mga bayan na dinaanan nila and post it on thier socmed by the time they get there and the organizer will verify it as soon as the rider reach the finish line, then to avoid overspeeding dapat may exact time sila na alotted for every checkpoint. No more no less.
it's not right to say na "okay lang naman dahil madaming nakarating sa finish line nang matiwasay". 'pano naman yong mga innocent victims ng accidents? sa tingin nyo ba okay lang sa bikitima at sa pamilya nila? may namatay pa based from what I saw/read online, yan pa lang red flag na yan Endurance Challenge using Public Roads. (I'm not just referring to BIMC but all endurance challenge being held on public roads). The fact na mayroong nadamay, these events should be stopped.
At the end of the day.... Still public road padin yan.
1. How is it not a race if there's a time limit? 2. What about for the safety of other motorist? Most of their aux lights are not even legal. Pointing directly at the eyes of incoming motorist(s).
Endurance pero may time? Ano yan time trial. Lol! Natural talaga maguunahan mga kalahok kasi may time limit.
Had a chance to share the road with these BIMC contestants.
In my own personal opinion Bro much better if the BIMC organizers make the time limit longer than 24hrs so that all the participants riders eh hindi matatime pressure. And your idea of enforcing a very strict rules and coordinations with the local government that will enforce that rules that's absolutely right Bro
I think this is something na need e double check ng organizers to enforce full partnership with the government. In the other part of my mind they might be things na already ginawan ng way ng Organizer kaso nahihirapan sila coz maybe they cannot function well due to some of the government officials na probably nang hihingi ng budget or padulas. Well they're just my thoughts. Hopefully on the next Boss Ironman Challange if meron pa mas magiging mas and hopefully the things happened this year and the previous year would be a lesson learned para sa lahat not just the organizer but everyone including the bystanders na if they know na ang Boss Ironman Challenge will be on their route or place mas magiging maingat sila sa pag mamaneho or mas magiging cautious sila sa paligid.
basta may pang registration go eh,. dapat may pre-qualification, low speed and high speed drills in a racetrack or controlled environment,. pag di pumasa, di na pwede sumali,.
let's be real, it's all about their ego. do it in a controlled environment like any other sports, not in public roads. endurance pala gusto nila e di dun sila sa racetrack kahit isang linggo sila magpa ikot ikot dun
rules ng BIMC is sobrang kulang hanggang rules lang hindi rin naman sinusunod ng mga participants dapat mas mahigpit na rules plus local government and LTO and more visibility ng inforcer sa daan para na gaguide yung mga motorista sa nangyayaring event. every year mqy ganito nangyayari na sana na mamaximize na nila dahil every year event yan eh.. dami pa kulang talaga.
Dapat may mga stop sila point 1 to point 2 to point 3 dun palang DQ na nila ung nag oover speeding. Kada stop/point may minimum time wag na nilang paabutin sa finish line.
I'm all in sa mga incognito snipers para sa overspeeding, para pagdating sa checkpoint, may free na ticket. Masaya yan. resing resing kasi nangyayari.
Simply call them call/declare them as finisher. Para Hindi sila mangenganyo magkarerahan. Makipag colab din dapat sila sa gov agency tulad Ng LTO para on the spot pwede matiketan Ng traffic violation Yung mga kasali na overspeeding at reckless.
Salamat sir zach for voicing out my thoughts. Dapat talaga aware ang local government na madada anan nila for cooperation or mag appoint sila ng mga staff to monitor the rider speed through out the program.ride safe always po.
Provide GPS to all participants and a monitoring system na nagdedetect at alarm pag may nagoover speeding then automatic disqualify and out pagdating sa next check point pag scan sa participant card/number nila at di na cla pwede magpatuloy at tapusin ang challenge.
well said sir zack khit sino nman tlga walang gustong mka disgrasya o madisgrasya even the organizers yun nlng tlga eh nahaluan nasamahan nalng tlga ng mga kamote riders ang BIMC sana lang sa susunod mabawasan sila para mabawasan narin ang disgrasya involving this event.
BIC is good. It would be best if all participants will obey all traffic rules and regulations. Proper coordination with the lgu is a must. Shout out Zach, well said.
The problem with working with LGU is that ano the whole time naka standby mga enforcers and kelangang mag adjust ang local folks coz anytime dadaan mga participants? It's unthinkable na because of some egoistic enthusiasts eh life norms and flows will be disturbed.
