Been using for years as well as some of these other guys and I swear by it. It makes you sound great when you aren't and when your playing is on point, you're a foot tap away from shutting down the effects so you can hear yourself. It also makes the cheapest amp sound great without having to kill your neighbors, though it's more fun that way.
I'm looking to buy the ME-20B and there's no videos that explain it like how you did with this one. Best review of this pedal I've seen yet, very well done.
This was a great little pedal, the only problem they didn't have seperate delay and reverb, if you had delay on you couldn't have reverb, other than that it was almost a perfect pedal board.
i bring back again this pedal . after many years and its sounds so warm and realistic especially the wah wah .... is better than multieffect processors of nowdays in my opinion
I bought one of these on sale and must admit I'm impressed. It has everything I need including inbuilt tuner. A lot of the time it's late at night when I get the chance to play so having the aux in is awesome, I can plug in the ipod and the headphones and jam away to Metallica without disturbing anyone.
Yes, it is. Remember that it is a collection of pedals with memory patches. The signal route is already defined, so you can't compare with the GT workstations, which are far more configurable. If you want quick sounds, ME70 is nice. If you want really fine tuning of sound, you may want to try the GTs.
I have one i use on an old vintage 200 watt peavey bandit amp for my guitar and it plays the blackest of metal with my own personal twist of chorus wave sounds and whatever else i want. I dont understand why ppl bash this. Its fucken perfect black metal on an old peavey and even other styles of metal on a roland cube. Fuck yeah
@NickTheNimrod No you can get the FS-6 to switch banks with or if you are in memory mode you can hold down one of the pedals for 2 seconds and then you can go down banks with pedal 1 up with pedal 2 then select the bank with pedal 3.
Been using one of these for years. It's great but I do have one big complaint. You can't mix delay and reverb at the same time. Due to that I have to use this unit in conjunction with a rack mount processor. However, the distortion tones are great.
@DavinaFaerie you can always try using a line-6 amp, they have distortions, phasers, chorus, delay, reverbs and all that good stuff, and they aren't hard to find at all
I saw a me-20 in live action some months ago, in the right hands it is really great. I bought a me-70, but for my playing level, I think the me-20 would be more than enough... but they were similarly priced where I bought.
as a beginer i loved the pedal... and used it for like 2 yrs... one day i decide to play without and i couldnt belive how great my guitar sounded without it... it sucks so much tone!!! but its great for begginers
He says that to change sound banks you have to use the buttons... sorry but he couldn't actually be more wrong! You can use the footswitches as shortcuts. To turn them into scrolling switches, hold pedal 3 for a few seconds, and the lights on all 3 start flashing. When flashing, pedal 1 acts as the "down" button, and pedal 2 acts as "up", with pedal 3 being select. Once the sound bank is selected, one light will remain flashing, until you select which patch you wish to use :)
I use it every day since 2009, it depends on your ears and sound taste to get the sound you want, I usually don't use the factory default presets, I make my own presets according to my needs Pro easy to use easy to find sounds easy to create presets compact metal body portable great for bedroom or stage guitarists Cons no Amp simulators yet
actually yes. some simply pedals for individual work.. chorus, reverb, distortion.. pedal board. that's what i use with my band.. these multi units like a said are good for beginners and garage rock..
i'm just curious but which one is better- the digitech RP90 or the BOSS ME-20? I have an ME 20 and it is great but everyone says the RP90 is great too. PLS REPLY
i have a question. I am getting the peavy valve king with a ibanez tube screamer and really love the distortion. But i have this channel on my line 6 spider 3 amp with reverb and delay on it. is there any way i can use this pedal to just add reverb and delay at the same time to my valveking distortion?
I already have a Line 6 IV (4) spider 15 watt amp, and I was thinking about getting one of these, would it be worth getting? Will it help me sound better in playing stuff like Trivium etc?
He said that you had to switch banks manually... I have one and that's wrong, you can also switch banks by keeping the first pedal pressed. Then, all the pedals start flashing and then the first two pedals go up and down the banks and the third 'confirms' the one you want... that's it... :D
They only give him a set time to demo this stuff, alot of times after watching his demos of gear that I never seen before and was interested , I eather bought the shit and figured it out myself or had to ask around and research because like the POD, somethings are not as easy as the demo's show and the POD took me almost a year to get all the shit figured out between the software and the POD itself, but I do not regret getting it because it is amazing, just takes to freaking long to figure out.
can you demo it from a blues player point of view. The distortion is good if you're doing metal but what about blues rock ala Allman Brothers. They don't use the over saturation that you have here. Thanks
I have this one. Not a bad processor overall but compared to my individual Boss pedals, the ME-20's sound quality isn't really good. It's a cheaper modal and it's good for someone who wants to practise and have a lot of effects, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're going to record or play live.
I've got one of these and I agree that the distortions aren't very good, but that may be something to do how I'm setting it up and the amp I'm using (Peavey Envoy). However, I am really pleased with the modulation and delays. I play mostly rhythm guitar in my band and I'm starting to get a nice big swirling sound (like Doves, The Verve etc.). I still need to spend a good few hours in a practice room with it in order to get the sounds I want.
all pedals are great! they cost a lot of money so you should expect a lot to. this one works great, but the ME-25 just has some more options. but it also costs a bit more. just see if it is worth it.
@LP30STM What do u think Slash and all the other great players ( Joe s. Stevie V.) They use Floorprocessors all the time even this one ;D They se like 7 different pedals next to each other
Notice that after each demonstration bit, the user dramically turns down the volume knob on his guitar as if he wants to move on to the next sound effect setting? The reason for this is that these types of amp modellers, the sounds are artificial or digital.. there is on natural decay of the sound like you would have with a real amp. if you let it ring out, once the signal from the guitar weakens, the modeler will kill the sound abruptly. It has no feel. sort of like a cheap keybord piano
i have it, it does suck live... theres a split second delay from switching between effects and the distortions arent too great...especially if your stuck in the solid state amp world like me ... but its good for recording fun
I asked a friend of mine your question because he owns one of these and the boss wesite din't say nothing and he said the wah is basically ready on your command, another words when you want so I guess that is a yes.
This pedal is perfect for beginners when you have no idea whatsoever how an effect works and for jamming at home plugging on a small amp. By other hand on live sucks big time since the pre EQ and volume can really mess the original sound of your guitar and your performance.
Hey i have this but i dont realy like the distortion that much and im thinking of buy just a distotion pedal and or a boost but still wana use the other effects on it good or bad idea any one know??? help!!!
