Truly brilliantly done and with an exquisite taste in music - I wasn’t aware that the SY 1000 was capable of producing such useful and realistic sounds.
I guess it’s like most synths with the right attention to detail you can get close to the original sounds. Most of it is about approaching the playing from perspective of the instrument you’re trying to emulate to convince yourself it sounds like the original. 😊
@@dogmatronic Concerning the adaption of the playing technique I completely agree. The other important aspect is the technology used for achieving truly realistic sounds and for this I went down the rabbit-hole of sampling and modeling using a Roland GR20 in conjunction with Deskews Gig Performer software. You can see the results on my channel if you like.
Oh wow, absolutely wonderful! Thank you so much for this - spectacular sound sculpting & beautiful playing throughout! I love my VG99 but this is way beyond. I also love early Genesis & the Wind & Wuthering clip was an extra special treat on top of all else! (loved so many other covers too, Floyd etc, just wonderful!).
Thanks Roni! That’s because I’ve got too many pseudonyms! 😂 If you look for Nobulusprime on there you’ll find me. A lot of patches are up there. If you can’t find a specific one let me know.
@@dogmatronic I appreciate you getting back. After much research in the VG community I found you. It's easy to find someone who has more downloads of their patches than anyone else! Great work!!! This is a new system for me and I'm excited.
@@MartinCraneRockbeast yes I saw. I did reach to Steve and Adrian at the time Beat was announced to offer up some patches and recommend the SY1000 but I got the usual thanks for getting in touch response. It sounds great the way Steve is using it
These patches are great! Amazing sounds - i knew SY-1000 is powerful, but this is really something! Could you please advise where i could download these - are they available via boss tone studio? The link above is cut off. Thanks!
These are brilliant! As soon as my SY comes in I'll be downloading a lot of these patches. Thank you! Just curious; will you be testing out the GM-800 now that it's out and can do actual sampled instruments? I would love to see a video where you compare the GM sounds to the SY sounds you've created
Thanks! Re the GM800 I’d love to but it’s a matter of affording one at the moment and because I use a Fishman Triple Play I don’t really need one. There are advantages to both the GM800 and the SY1000. The SY is pretty much latency free (apart from OSC synth) and you don’t have to adapt that much of your playing style. The GM800 will do Piano type sounds whereas the SY1000 won’t get close to that. You have dig deep with SY to get stuff out of it whereas the GM is more instant gratification sound wise. Hopefully I’ll get around to getting one soon and I will do a comparison video 👍
@@CharlesHolmes-ly5uf No it doesn’t. I’ve created the Mellotron patches for the SY1000 I’ve recreated flute along with brass and strings. You can download the patches for free from vguitarforums.com. The stock sounds on the SY1000 are ok but the best thing about it is spending time creating stuff 😊
That’s because it’s supposed to be a trumpet using a Harmon mute on it, like the original here m.ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nTwp1sgUJrM.html. The frequencies match almost perfectly. There are similarities to a harmonica in fact I used an adapted version of harmon mute for the harmonica in Midnight Cowboy at the end of the showreel
