Thank you!!!!! Anchor Man . . . nice touch. Any recommendations on getting a killer blues harmonica tone ("When the Levee Breaks"). I'd like to just use my regular vocal setup and the VE-22 to achieve this, instead of lugging a bullet mic and mic amp around.

Oh wow! Great question. I’d look into getting the EQ and Comp dialed in….then I’d look into the distortions onboard to add a splash of color to your sound. Pay close attention to the peaks and valleys of the distortion sound so they don’t get to sharp.

Curious, My voice is fair at best, I was considering stacking a few pedals to really be able to tweak the ton and pitch. Was considering the VE-22 with the TC Helicon Mic Mechanic (reverb, echo, pitch correction) and Possibly the TC Helicon Harmony (harmony, reverb, Tone) - is all this overkill? Also want the ability on choruses to have those harmonies backing vocals kick in.... Thoughts on the best setup? really want to adjust my voice to smooth it out and be able to add harmonies during certain sections of songs.....

Great question: I would find a pedal that combines as much of all of those desired features and effects as possible. You may want to look at the BOSS VE-500. It is a monster of a pedal with all of what you mentioned onboard. Plus the ability to add outside expression and switches to it really gives you a massive amount of control and options onboard.

Glad to help! EQ has always been a moving target to me. It’s finding what works with your voice….the type of mic and even the venue at times. I do t think it would be fair to say there’s one EQ to rule them all. Effects are used differently well..some songs will call for a phaser or delay or slicer….others won’t. I’d say experiment and see what sounds good to you!

Thanks for the explanation. I have a question... So the "Enhance" parameter is equivalent (or more or less) to the "Presence" parameter in guitar amplifiers?

Great question! I think you it's important to look at what your needs are onstage. The VE-22 is a great unit to grab, plug in and go. The VE-500 has features onboard (Vocodor, Mutli FX, MIDI, etc) that the VE-22 doesn't have. So its really figuring out what works best for the individual. Not everybody needs a million different options...then there's oddjobs like me that want all the options. Between both of them I don't think you can go wrong!
