I've listened to thousands of versions of "Autumn Leaves" from many top musicians on all instruments. I've played it on guitar in a "traditional" jazz standard way, and to my ear it often sounds really boring. I think it's because of the rhythm. I think your "bossa" version is the best way to play it, because the rhythm gives it life and movement. It even sounds like a famous bossa tune. I'm switching to your bossa version permanently, thanks.

Great version. I'm from Brazil and I once heard a Ukranian jazz pianist that I met, saying that bossa nova is no more exclusive to Brasil, said that the entire world assimilated bossa nova as its own and even modifies it. He came to brasil and made a musical tour in rio, and sao paulo, he concluded that samba is very strong in brasil but bossa nova is not as strong here as it should. Well, I agree.

@TheVersatileGuitarist Scott. It's interesting because I have just written a song with similar chord structure but a different melody. It's called Maybe, Just Maybe. Not exactly an uplifting lyric because it's about looking at yourself instead of blaming everyone else...Hehee! The times we are in brother!
