Incredible shootout. Both goalies had their moments too. Bruins shooters toward the end trying to beat Shesterkin without any sort of move was bold 😂 Big time respect for Shesterkin tho
Right? Like, at least make a move or get closer to Shesterkin to make harder for him. Should've just looked at what the rangers did and copy that. I mean, there's only so much that Swayman can do. Practically stood on his head
I remember lsst years when shesterkin was second goalie and mikko koskinen was number 1..... three years in cka petersburg. Oleg znarok always trust koskinen
@@timfz2 They prolly tried to strategize and watched too many replays before the game. I think the bruins went into the shootout thinking that they need the perfect shot to score because shesterkin has such a good stride, he could block most dekes.
Went to this game live. I was really worried that the Rangers were going to lose this due to Igor being pulled and then put back in. But Igor got settled back in after a few shots and hung in. It was an awesome game!
Official quote from Igor after the game: “I knew they needed me and once I heard them chant my name when I came back out from the locker room I knew I had to win for us.”
a goalie, wearing 50lbs of goalie equipment, basically gets hip checked to the head while in down the butterfly position. he falls backwards and is visibly shaken up, and jack edwards is somehow able to with a few words convince thousands of people that the goalie WHO IS ON HIS WAY TO THE CONCUSSION PROTOCOL WITH POSSIBLE HEAD INJURIES WAS IN THE WRONG god i hate human beings
Great battle. I sorta felt that the Rangers deserved this one after what happened with Shesterkin in overtime. That’s a pretty dumb rule, if you ask me. I know they are only looking out for the players’ health, but still 🤦♂️
The Rangers should think about using K'andre Miller like they used Jason Strudwick. He was a defenseman that occasionally played forward. He has the skill and they would be able to carry an extra defenseman.
As a bruins fan I honestly just expect the L every time the bruins go to a shootout. Why the hell did every shot the bruins took look identical?? Every single one was a muffin from 10 feet away. Pasta? Hall? My god, I swear my 14 year old cousin has better hands than every b's player did tonight. marchand seems like the only one these days with any decent hands.
That’s what I thought. I’m a fairly new hockey fan (2020) and pastrnak used to be my favorite. But honestly the more I watch him play the more it seems that he just gives up or if he doesn’t feel like it he doesn’t try. Marchand has slowly become by favorite. Marchand really impressed me with how hard he plays no matter how far behind they are .(Minus his antics)
@@DVLD0GG98 yeah the word I use for Marchand is tenacious. He's probably the most tenacious player in the game right now. For a man of his size to get where he has, that's about the only explanation. Pasta, I just don't know, I don't doubt his effort usually. Plus it was a shootout so for all I know he was trying to make the goalie think he wasn't trying hard, idk. It just seemed odd when I watched it.
@@alexhastings8312 of course you crazy 🤣. Why are you saying this, when Swayman had a great game. That's makes no sense. And BTW, Rask's numbers this year: 2W-2L-0OT, 4.28 GAA, 0.844 SV%. Do you really want him back?
Rangers could have had a chair in net and won the shootout...Bruins just skated down the middle and threw a shot on net without making the goalie move..
