The Celtics got another relatively easy win over the Miami Heat in Game 4 of their opening round series, thanks to 38 points from Derrick White. But the bigger story is losing Kristaps Porzingis to a calf injury in the first half. John Karalis of Boston Sports Journal explains why Game 5 is now a must-win closeout game because of the injury. KP’s tweet sounded optimistic, but only time will tell. Hella proud of White. He stepped up BIG time when Tatum was…man I don’t know what the hell he was doing. He just had this perturbed look from the opening tip-almost like he didn’t want to be there. This what was i was worried about before the playoffs started. Heat culture streak is alive. Hopefully though we can end their playoffs in game 5 so the guys can recover and rest. Wishing KP a get well soon. From what i've heard, its a calf sprain. If its. Grade 1 (our best bet) its 1-2 weeks so he'll be out until ECF. if its grade 2, he'll be out until the finals. Prayers that its grade 1 or just something less serious than a calf sprain.

Orlando is primarily an inside team. this wil allow us to leverage luke or X in KPs absence. it will be tougher against the cavs if they go small and we have X out there guarding strus or wade at the 4. of course that's looking ahead. lets finish game 5 1st and get the win.

Got the must needed win. No more letdowns. Close it out on G5 Boston. 5 takeaways: 1. heat culture strikes again. Before the series when alot of people were wanting miami, i kept mentioning the miami heat streak of injuring key players in almost all of their playoff series the past 3Y and said there was a 90% chance a celtics player would get injured. I kept wishing we didnt get miami and if we did we would get out fully healthy. Their streak of opposing players getting injured playing against them continued tonight. They just play an unsafe brand of basketball. I dont want to face them again next year. 2. In line with #1, i hope KP and JT are ok. Get well soon! need to really wrap this series up early to give those 2 time to rest. I wouldnt be suprised to see KP sit G5. we will need a big luke game. Would love to see some X mins too. 3. Defense was good again tonight. Cs showing they can win games on defense when their 3s werent falling. Props to d.white for 3 blocks! 4. Our best version is when d.white is the MVP. not the Js. Not jrue. Not KP. When d.white is the best player it means the ball is moving and the right reads are being made. It also means we have more threats on the floor and the Js arent being baited to be pure scorers. I am calling it now. When we win the chip, d.white will win finals MVP. 5. those illegal screens by bam today were so obvious. Thats how herro got wide open most of the time. I cant understand why the refs wont call them. We're lucky herro had an off night and that jrue/white were up to the challenge of chasing him. Bonus: i'm going to shout out JT here for just going through one of Bam's illegal screens and knocking him down in the 1Q. it was a JT foul but i dont care. It was the right move. Wouldnt mind more of that from our players vs. Bam. Good game plan Joe. Lets keep it up for game 5 and get the gentleman sweep! Lets go Cs!

After seeing it for the thousandth time, I’ve changed my opinion. That play was dirty by Bam. I agree he’s not a dirty player but that was a dirty play, both can be true. If you watch carefully Bam contests the shot but then proceeds to place his feet underneath or at the very least takes a step into JT’s landing space. I initially thought he’d get a technical but I agree with the classification of that foul - unnecessary and excessive contact. Intentional unfortunately not enough time to determine.

I believe I speak on behalf of Heat, C’s and NBA fans as a whole. This series would be much better and more rewarding to the team who wins, if rosters were fully healthy, at least the starters. There is no real matchup for the best team in the NBA today to play against a Jimmy-less heat team, with Rozier’s injury and 2 rookies as starters. A win in the series, for each side, would’ve been a real satisfaction.

Because the national media hates the celtics. Imagine a historic 64 win team and not a single representative in the top 3 of any regular season reward with just 2 all-stars. Mazzula is a good coach but hes young and stubborn. People have to keep in mind hes a sophomore coach without any head coaching experience. Name a 2nd year coach who has had as much success as Joe. Right. Theres none. As per the record books, Joe has the most wins in his 1st 2Y in the nba. He will learn. He will grow. He will mature. Lets just hope its fast enough.
