The Boston Crusaders drumline repping show music in the lot at the DCI Eastern Classic in Allentown, PA. Boston scored a 94.50. Definitely one of the most hype lots in a while.
That's how it should be when your chops are right... You should actually get more energy as you play, not less. The sticks be doin all the work and my mans is doing it right.
I don’t think people appreciate how wicked hard it is to do those stuttered rolls Colin writes. To stop a restart the hands in a middle of a low fast roll without changing the pressure in the hands so SO HARD and those guy and girls in the flats are so consistently good at them. It’s unreal. The pinnacle of world class talent
you mean in the opener where the triplet roll breaks up? That is pretty cool. Not too too hard if you just think about placing another rolled note in between the 2 and not stop the moving hand
This has to be the best line in history, yeah? Everything is so hard, so clean, and so cool. I don't think I've ever heard a bass line that's even in the neighborhood of this one.
We were there before the full battery moment, and the snares had a 12" rolls exercise that was immaculate, I'm talking no ticks or over balancing or interpretation inaccuracies, it was the most beautiful thing
This 2022 drumline always looked focused, intense, and ready for the moment! And they played like it too! .4 tenths from winning the DCI Drum Trophy... Looking forward to these guys in 2023 and beyond. ✌️🥁😎🤗
It seems everyone's saying it and I'm going to mirror (most of) it...this, hands down, might be one of the raddest drumlines in history. A beefy book - SO MANY notes! - being cleaning executed. Can't wait to see them at Finals! As a side note - there are things they're doing that are helping their execution. They're playing most of the high velocity passages at very low levels. When I was in HS, we had a competing drumline that did this (Castle Park from Chula Vista), from roll passages to singles, but I always loved it because they're were clean and the book was exciting! That said, I watched a video of the Atlanta show and I think on the move BD was cleaner. More, I think BD has a tougher book in terms of rhythmic and rudimental variance, but I absolutely LOVE what Boston is doing this year and the enthusiasm they're generating. Drumline is THE BEST!! :D
I love this Drumline but I still can’t get over how the tenors seem to be holding them back a bit. Some great exposed moments for the quads for sure, but the snare/bass sections sound more mature and achieve more consistently. If the tenors reach full potential, this Drumline will be one of the best of all time unequivocally.
I mean, they’re superior. No question. And waaaaay better than any Colin Drumline I ever marched in. Of course, he’s writing the best beats of his career these days. That’s for sure.
Been thinking the same thing all season. Snares have that Colin sound quality figured out. Although, I haven't seen them on field. In any case, this book is just bonkers! Love it.
@@DatGuyWithNoName They will get it and it will be tight at finals, without a doubt. Very difficult and demanding book, and the errors sound mental to me. So, a little more seasoning and some hard earned reps, and I think 🤔… you know, they’ll be great.
There's been a lot of great drumlines in our corps history 👏🙌but this line is really 👌the best drumline in the history of the corps known as bac, I thank you for the hard work you all put into this year 👍I send much love and respect to the Boston crusaders 2022 drumlines corps is made of giants and this one is standing tall. Bac forever ♥❤💙
how do the dci lots work? do you just have to be lucky with where you are and hope you catch a band you like or are there set times each band is in a specific area? i’m going to the allentown performance in august and it’s my first time going to a dci performance
Seems to me the Sanford will depend on who is actually judging finals. Some tend to lean toward west coast and some east. Just sayin' based on observation. 🥁
Yeah they probably should up the difficulty on their front ensemble stuff. That’s what’s getting them Behind I think. You can see it in the sheets. Cont 3rd achiev 1st. It’s obviously the front ensemble. Ask yourself, how many front ensemble videos of Boston have you seen lol. The battery is undeniably the best battery in the history of drum corps. And they might be so good they drag the percussion ensemble to the sanford trophy.
looks like a lot of twitter bots here in the comments. drunk crowds will hype anything, and you’re letting their hype make you think it’s clean. like every time the quads play a scape it’s basically a guaranteed rim, and people think this is the best battery ever? bots.
This video really doesn't do the line justice. Honestly the tenors were a little sloppy in this video but there are plenty of videos of them ramming through their quad break without rim ticks
