Those are called bones haha! I actually first learned what they were back in April. Myself and the other bones player were shipped our own pairs before the season and got virtual lessons with an expert. They were deceptively difficult to get a hold of but we seem to have figured it out
The brand for these marimbas is Adams, and they are designed to have 4.6 octaves, so no modification here. Many other groups use Yamaha keyboards which are typically 4.5 marimbas (only to the low F). Fun fact our outside marimbas actually have 5 octave marimbas and they played licks going all the way down to the low C.
