I had the chance to play on three different pianos out of the 75 pianos that were installed throughout the city of Boston, MA. I may go back for more, here is some footage from China Town!

It was really amazing and nice when the little girl went up to Kyle and said, "Hi!" to him, and Kyle looked away from his piano to say, "Hi!" back to her. He didn't even screw up! Amazing!

I was just in Boston and played on the one in Quincy Marketplace. I played Pachelbel's Canon, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Kyle's version of Hallelujah. Some lady gave me $5

Here in Toronto 2 summers ago we had our own Play me I'm Yours pianos scattered around the city in celebration of the Pan Am games coming up. Each piano was painted to represent the 40 or so different countries participating.

I wish I could do this. I get really nervous playing around other people, even if it's only one or two. I don't know how I could play around a crowd like this.

Play for a church. Offer to do it for free at first because you'll mess up a TON. Even if you don't believe in God AT ALL, it's free practice in front of a group who is going to be there either way, and they will appreciate you playing good music for them instead of having to have canned music. Moreover, if they are Christians, they are SUPPOSED to be forgiving, so if you make mistakes they'll let it slide. I got started playing for my church, and was ULTRA nervous at first, but about the 10th time I played, I was markedly less nervous, and by the time I'd done it 50 times, I would just shrug off a mistake and think to myself, "Eh, half of these people are tone-deaf anyway." : ) My playing has definitely improved from playing with a congregation singing along, especially my timing. It's so much better that people in my family who are themselves musically-inclined have commented on it.

They did the same in Paris last year for summer, and the biggest train stations kept the pianos afterward so that people could play or listen to music while waiting to take their train!! Best idea ever!

The play on Chopin's Fantasy Impromptu made me a bit a cry, with the chill on the nocturne. Yet these pieces are not done to amuse the people around. They are made to touch the heart of the public. I feel a little bit bad after seeing this kind of.. chill.

Coolnessnessdude Boston has an event called "Play me Im Yours" its where people can purchase a ticket and pianos around Boston can be played by people. They are stationed all across Boston, i believe there are 75 different locations for the pianos
