Is iMBA UIUC program AACSB accredited? I know you would say yes! But it bothers me that they’re calling it implicitly “ from an AACSB accredited program/school” rather than saying iMBA is AACSB accredited program. 2. Why iMBA UIUC doesn’t have rank for its program like other universities, and rather they use internal metrics and numbers to educate people about their program? Which do you see more stronger BU online MBA or iMBA UIUC?
@ptpt5662
@ptpt5662 2 года назад
@@bananyrepublic5563 Problem with UIUC is that it is a three year program and if you may repeat a course if not meeting their standard then it may take more than three years for many.

I was deciding between a Johns Hopkins Masters and a BU MBA and went with the OMBA program. You just can't beat that $24k price in terms of value. Yes, the JH name probably would look a little more prestigious on my resume, but it wasn't worth an extra +$30k in my opinion

I was an assistant/associate Dean at both schools (Johns Hopkins Carey and The OMBA program at Boston University). I don’t believe anyone else can say they had both of these experiences as an administrator but I did and consider myself fortunate. You can’t go wrong with either choice yet they are both very different. The integrated curriculum at OMBA is fantastic. Plus, you can’t beat this price and quality mix. The Hopkins reputation and network of its total alumni base (not just Carey) is stellar. Imagine the knowledge and resource base you can tap into. To me, it depends how much time remains in your career and what industry or vertical you desire most. I would send family and friends to either with a high endorsement but they are configured differently and that difference can make all the difference to the student experience; but outcomes can be similar for those who network and use all available resources. Good luck!

Good review. I got into both programs (UIUC and BU). I suspect that the cohort at BU is stronger from what I've seen, and the reputation is stronger, however I went with UIUC because of the specializations available. In my case, a slightly better uni reputation is not worth the tradeoff of the specializations available. UIUC also has much much more freedom in course selection, BU has zero customization.

I am literally afraid of MOD2, So was it hard for you? what kind of quizzes or assignments were there? Also, I could not find any information on how are you gaining grades, Do you have exams after courses or just projects? Sorry for asking being so concrete :)

@RichardWalls

Hi Robert - depends on your goals, but given the price point, can help open doors for a fraction of the cost of other programs. Would never want a lack of an MBA be the reason I don't get selected for an opportunity.

Your first mistake was getting a business degree😂😂😂. The most non competitive degree in the world of industry, ahhh I can hear the HR rep dropping that new pile of resumes in the trash. Better to go with engineering management, you’ll get the best of both worlds, the quantitative/STEM side along with the economic/bean counting aspect and will more than trump an MBA at the bachelors level. These admin degrees just aren’t cutting it anymore and employers want more bang for their investment to justify the salary that you’re most likely going to try and negotiate. The last three hires and my previous job were engineering managers filling slots normally held by MBA’s, they were more productive, innovative and had more drive than previous leadership which is probably why the company skipped over the business majors.

I've been pretty pleased with my career results and know many others that have as well. 🙂 Also can't go wrong with most STEM degrees - great career outcomes going that route.
