I was forced many years ago to give up the piano by my dad, he said he "didn't want a fag piano player son!" so to make him happy I gave it up. he eventually died and I moved on with my life. Now, nearly 20 years later, I'm re-learning, seems as if from scratch. This is one of the pieces that has inspired me to want to play again!!! Thank you for creating such an amazing piece of music. I wish I has the music to learn.

That father of yours must have really been something, Neil. I am very grateful that my parents didn't think that way. I took piano lessons for 6 years, starting at the age of 9. That was in 1959. I still play, usually 2 or 3 hours, 5 or 6 days a week. Nikes,Michigan.

This simple yet delicate interpretation of the heart aching song has made me listen into it more than 10 times in a few days. I've learnt to know you more in dozens of your clips but this remains by far the most unique. Though I'm not sure if there's error at the 2:57, this is the most inspired piano sound experience in weeks. Thank you for great work and I'm still waiting for the stunning interpretation to follow.

Wonderful interpretation, 1:40 there is a small passage, that reminded me of Bill Conti's instrumental version of "For Your Eyes Only" (the James Bond movie soundtrack). There is another in your interpretation at 3:50, almost the same notes.

Another beautiful piece? Keep it up and people are gonna think you have talent or something, sheesh! :) Just teasing, of course. Not only am I a fan of your playing, but also of your musical influences. Both impeccable. Btw, have you seen the movie 'Love Actually'? Released in 2003. This song was featured prominently in it, during a scene between Emma Thompson and Alan Rickman. I won't give away the plot if you haven't seen the movie (and I recommend you do), but yes, it was quite a sad scene and the song framed it very well. At any rate, thank you for sharing this beautiful performance. :)
