the BDP became so cocky and thought there were so clever that they even went to bench mark how to run elections from Zimbabwe, like seriously,a rulling party bench making from ZANU PF, what a joke
Batswana are humble and honor humility. That's why Duma lost in 2019. He was so cocky then. When he humbled himself, they accepted him. He forgot the fundamentals
@ExoticalAfrodite He was never cocky. He has always been humble. People take his attitude during the 2019 debate as his character and never speak about the fact that DIS had raided his house the day before the debate. He wasn't arrogant... he was angry.
Imagine!!! Imagine!!!! Zanu PF of all places??? Imagine!!! BDP became extremely arrogant and confident that no matter what they will always win elections!
Namibia and Botswana leadership has been far better then most African leaders, lots hope the new ones are not overpowered by greed and corruption. This is the downfall of the ANC and most other liberation movements.
This is what the people of Zimbabwe are supposed to do instead of running to South Africa. If you vote overwhelmingly for the opposition, ZANU will not be able to rig the polls.
@@jesusislord2003 I didn't say they don't vote. If you read my comment I said they should go vote overwhelmingly for the opposition so that it will be difficult to steal the election. Just like they've just done in Botswana. We did that to the ANC, and we will do it even more in 2026.
@KhayaMkhize-p5l i believe zimbos have voted overwhelmingly more than once but if a leader controls the electoral comission and judiciary and refuses to leave any vote is merely routine but of zero effect. Thats why I said you are assuming its based only on vote and ignoring the power of the government and what they choose to do with that power.
@KhayaMkhize-p5l for example if a teacher is marking a student's work and they have power to be fair or unfair in the marking, the result of that exam will not be based on how well the student studied and wrote the exam only but also on what the one marking does.
South Africa nearly did it on their last elections, Botswana did it now, zim you are next, then Namibia.. now is the best time for southern Africa to be shining in all domestic democratical matters
The ANC hasn't learned its lesson yet. Local elections are in 2026, not enough time to change attitude, they're not even considering it. That's how arrogant they've become. As for Zanu were rejected long ago under Mugabe.
Please Namibians, all out.. zanu PF is interfering in your elections as well, please prove mnagagwa wrong! Namibia belongs to Namibians, Botswana to Batswana, Zimbabwe to Zimbabweans
@@rebeccanamibia1284 All Liberation movements have that misconception. But the will of the people will prevail. Lets pray for Mozambique as we await for change in our region. Never trust a Comrade!!!
Not a surprise at all. Masisi has always made me uncomfortable. He seemed untrustworthy, pompous, and like…he had an alternative agenda. Batswana have spoken. We want change. I’m sure he’s eating that humble pie tonight.
Imagine!! And somehow I feel that mnagagwa betrayed Masisi, how I don't know.. Masisi always knew that he is going to loose elections hence all the trips to Zimbabwe, establishing new relationships, and exchanging ideas on how to rig elections.. ok.. Batswana are different to zimbos in the sense that they will never allow the defence force and/ or police to intimidate them.. so certain manipulation that work in zim won't work here..
Soapie you can't say that is a huge embarrassment because when someone decides to rig elections you cry and when someone let the will of people prevail you call it an embarrassment. It shows that Botswana has a mature democracy and hats off to Masisi.Look at what is happening in Mozambique something different to what has just happened in Botswana.
True.. I am South Africa Motswana.. I must say what I've learnt is that we are peace-loving by nature as much as we have our shortcomings like all the others..
We the neighbours did not see this coming, I never knew things were as such in Botswana, especially with BDP. Let us pray people have voted for the right choice, not for the sake of change into the unknown. It only takes a Chiluba to disntagrate the whole system in one calendar year, then rest is history.
Elections were never rigged in Botswana, let's not try to imply that please. Batswana are very decisive people if you become arrogant or overconfident they will humble you, Mr Boko learned this fundamental thing about Batswana and he was very quiet and relaxed unlike last time in 2019 when he was to cocky and noisy he ended up annoying Batswana unfortunately Masisi forgot about that and he talked too much and he ended up offending voters.
