i keep coming back to this clip..the more i listen and watch Ronnie play this piece, the more and more i'm appreciating it! ..he's quite amazing!..as always!!
I have no talent in anything at all, and this person makes me jealous. I'm also FLOORED with POWERFUL FUCKING ADMIRATION AND MAD PROPS. I agree with @dmfcnl in that a record, followed by a world tour, is heavily needed. The last person I've seen play so amazingly well was Elliott Smith, and before that Chet Atkins. Mentioning Ronnie in the same breath as those legends is the highest compliment I can offer.
This comment section is the least insightful thing I’ve ever read. A lot of people are missing the wonder point that beautiful music can come from anywhere, and that you don’t need a $5,000 dollar guitar to make the better place with your music.
@TedEdFred21 I was thinking something similar, wtf FENDER! LES PAUL! guitar lessons! 10 years studying music to play "nice" but this boy is just PURE MUSIC, it goes right to your heart, it put a smile in your face and make you feel happy!
FxFACx x's are omitted strings. Tune UP to the pitches. Leaving off the 2 omitted strings makes the action on the guitar the same or easier. Leaving on the strings the tuning is FAFACF which will tend to raise the action (increase the bow in the neck) of the guitar
@puganufur besides the fact that Ronnie is a male from Botswana, this is heavenly, not devilish ;-) I do NOT think he should record an album, he should be on stage around the world. Well, let's make an album to promote it then, you're right! Amazing fellow! Proving you do not need expensive equipment to entertain....
Why are people saying that this is a man ? This is a lady -- I am 100 % sure. The description is in error. Besides, in Africa, men do NOT wear headscarfs ! (In case you are wondering, I am African).
In Botswana they seem to remove the second and third strings from the top if you look carefully in all guitars here! Maybe that's the secret to this great tune!
As near as I can tell the bass note is F,no fifth string (that I can see) the fourth string is tuned to f, the third to A, The second to C, and the high string to F I think, but I may off a bit. It's all and open F tuning. That's why it sounds so bright.
@Sranang100 thats heart breaking yes... but I still want to believe that Ronnie and all his brilliant fellows can get there themselves if they want: world fame! wouldnt surprise me. xx
Why do you automatically assume he is saying that in an insulting matter? He is merely pointing out the fact that such great talent is limited by monetary status.
@communistjesus cant you find him a record company? IF HE wants? I sent a link to a local organisation who organises big Mundial Festival every year in Holland - maybe you can also send it somewhere? love xx
I love his playing. The gender mistake is in the eyes of ethnocentric Westerners. I don't know what constitutes masculinity in his culture. He's a brilliant artist and I wish he was still around. Ironically, most American male "Teen Idols" have had feminine features since the '70's.
Not really-- Botswana tuning is FxFACx is you keep 5th and 6th strings they are A and F so it looks like FAFACF-bu topen F would be more like F-A♯-D♯-G♯-C-F OR alternatively F-B♭-E♭-A♭-C-F. Still MAD PROPS to you for catching that this is in F! IT\t's just a weird modal F- not a standard F tuning
