It is possible that the white chalky bits are from the fat from the skin. Even after it is finished, leather will still release natural oils stored and it will look exactly as you described. Very common on Hermes leather goods!

I just ordered the new cassette interciatto in this color . I originally went for the Jodie but they didn’t have it . But then she showed me the new cassette and how it can be worn 2 ways and I was sold . Looking at yours has me second guessing this what was I went in for .
@@cass9078 Try styling the Cassette with a couple different looks and see how you feel about it :) it's very cute, and is diff than the Jodie (functionality and style). i hope you still love it!!
