BOTY 2017 - The Floorriorz (Japan) - Best Show 

They are really great but they definitely didnt win at 2016. In their battle against body carnival they lost and almost everyone can agree on that. However they definitely won at 2015 and 2017 I simply dont think that they should have won at 2016

You might get that impression. I can see your point. However, if dancing and bboying for you is all about the blow-ups that make you "scream Holy Sh*t" then you haven't really grasped yet what bboying and dancing is really about, I guess.

i was there, and i dont think they should have won the showcase, Mortal Kombat did in my Oppinion the best Showcase. and after that Taichung City Hentai (Taiwan)

Honestly, I don't get how Floorriorzz won... their toprock and downrock were amateurish and lackluster, their timing was off, their powermoves were meh and they had basically no combos. And on a personal note, I really disliked their choice of music. How the fuck did the judges justify picking quite possibly the worst performance?

Rad Tech Been bboying for about 2 years, but this show was just....synchronized. But that was about it. There’s only so much synchronization I can take. I liked it when showcases actually put on a SHOW. A story, like what Extreme Crew did, All Area, Expression, etc

I believe there was a Korean team last year. But if they somehow trying to limit Korea's participation that's not good at all.

Because the situation in Korea is not favorable because of the current situation. Less cultural support for them seems to have resulted in less outside activity.

That's the good thing. At least there are still some judges who know what bboying and Hip Hop is all about. I was talking about the next generations growing up with a dramatically changed view of bboying and hip hop, indicated by a lot of comments here.

@shevegen: I guess, I am not more or less clueless than any other hip hop head out there. I just try to look at the issue from different perspectives. There is nothing wrong with modern powermoves. As long as you do not forget about the roots and traditions of our culture. I did not complain about evolution in the hip hop culture either, if it is the evolution of the hip hop culture and not a creation of something totally new that is then labelled hip hop, because it cannot fit somewhere else or because hip hop sells well. Let me give you another "odd comparison", shevegen. If you cannot speak isiZulu but only English , you cannot sell any Zulu, that you belong to them, because you think, that English is YOUR evolution of the Zulu language. That's what people try nowadays, when they try to sell breakdancing and gymnastics or trap music and trash rap with the hip hop-tag on it. However, shevegen, I totally accept your view because I can see it from your perspective but I think you are absolutely on the garden path with your attitude.
