Those are pvc plastic pipes painted to look like bamboo. No bamboo is perfectly round and strait. They should be called The Bougainville Plastic Band. Their costumes appear to be made out of plastic as well.
bradley tsivele I understand the sensitivity of bamboo to changes in humidity and temperature because I've made close to 2k instruments out of the wonderful stuff. Some of them travel internationally with a performer from Australia, as well as one from Germany and another from Hawaii and one from Brazil. And many other people all over the world. They have been to every continent, even Antarctica. Bamboo needs to be harvested at the right time, cured properly and usually wrapped with twine. They also need to be oiled regularly or lacquered/varnished. The right species is equally important. They require acclimation as any fine wooden instrument does... It used to bother me when I would see PVC instruments but I don't care anymore what materials people use, just don't call yourself a bamboo band when you lazily use PVC. It's insulting to those of us who actually use bamboo to make instruments and take the necessary steps to preserve them. Bitch (lol).
just how do u know that..... as if u know how to make one.... im from there and i know what bamboos they use to make it... and the costumes i know how they are made....plus i have a sample of it... you people judge too quickly...
solid dude solitude silent groove -- So this is similar to what the Blue Man Group use in the U.S. They also make some if there’s where they will slide to different lengths to vary the tones.
