Here, I have tried to propagate Bougainvillea plants by 3 different methods. Doing something new and hopefully I would be able to share with you very soon.
I’m going to try this also! My bougainvillea is in the ground and not flowering so I will try to plant some in a few different containers and hope for the best ❤thank you
Wish you all the best and I am sure, your cuttings would be successful. Remembered the Bougainvillea cuttings which I collected from roadside? They are already starting to produce leaves!
Hello, Love your content. I've tried to propagate Bougainville using the methods you've shown in your video (where you put the cuttings in sand), and cover them with a plastic bottle. It's been 15 days since I've placed the cuttings in sand and covered them with a transparent plastic bag. Everything is fine, and all the stems produced so many small leaves. But... The issue is that, when i remove the plastic cover, the leaves start to get loose, droppy and then they start to die. It's April already and i Know this is an issue with humidity being very low at my place. But how long can i or should i put those cuttings covered by a plastic bag. Any suggestions? I don't want them to die. And I can't keep them covered in a plastic bag forever.
Thank you very much and glad to here I could do something! That happens as the leaves get a new environment suddenly and water evaporate much faster. To avoid this, you can make few holes in the plastic bag. This way, they would be adjusted easily. There is one more scenario why this happens - the cuttings have yet to produce roots. Due to the latex in plants, many stems produce leaves before they produce roots. So, you might want to some more days before removing the plastic completely. If you do these 2 things, I am sure your cuttings would definitely successful. Wish you all the best!
@@GardeningUpbeat Thanks for the response. I'm definitely sure that the stems haven't produced the roots yet, it's just 15 days. I'm gonna put some holes in the plastic bags so that they can adjust to the environment conditions. Thank You!
Good morning. I tried to grow the cuttings in sand in the month of February. I put about 10 cuttings but none of them grew. Need your advice on what may have gone wrong.
Good evening! Sorry to hear that..I strongly feel it was because of low temperature. I could be wrong too..but at least 1 could have made it if temp was correct. Please try once again now. I also tried once in December just to test..none made it :-(
