Local to ya. That is impressive for the money! One tip for ya is to turn the guide 180 so it's not catching on your cut(slag) as your draging along. Keep on keeping on, I really enjoy the channel!🤘
Nice! For the amount of times I’m going to need one, that’s be a nice little unit to have one around for that price! Sure would make life a lot easier and faster and it’d probably pay for itself in the first couple projects it does
I just ordered one exactly like yours. Thank you for doing this review. The first project my plasma cutter will see is a chain and binder rack for my trailer that will haul my new TL12R2
I ordered the same machine but of a different name from Amazon for about $200. I've only tried it on 220 on 1/4 inch stock and it did well. I think it's going to work out great for what I do. A lot easier and cleaner than firing up the torch. I ordered a red one and got a blue one. No biggie.
if your cutting anything like 1/4 and up just turn the power all the way up with too much power/ amps on thin material it will just make a wider cut path
I have both the chinesium cut50 something and a Lincoln tomahawk 625 and I must say the cheap plasma cutter is worth every penny of the 250 something plus 50 of consumables I have in it.
The main reason you got rewelds is the lack of a consistent speed. Every time you stopped it will reweld the two parts back together. It looks like a decent machine for the price. Also, if you maintain a constant speed the cut will be much smoother with less slag.
mosfets , are fragile . An easy and cheap fix if you know how .On top of that , I have never seen a machine with replaced mosfets break down .Torch is a different story .You can repair them yourself but if you drop something on it It is over . There are no parts if it Quits . If it runs great and last for 2 years , It will last forever ," and many do " it is worth it ..
You should try one of those Evolution steel saws. You can cut 1/4 inch steal like you are cutting wood. No hot metal and no slag grinding when you are done.
How big is your compressor I got on yesterday and it keeps popping my breaker in the house but what little I did with it I'm in love with it my is a s7 cut 50
@@BrianDoesStuff873 a contact arc means you have to psychically touch the plasma to your work surface to start the arc, which is ok but on rusty material it may not strike. The pilot arc will blow through the rust and start the act itself
Question for you guys-does anyone purchase the 4 year protection plan for about $45 or is it not worth the hassle for the cost of this type of machine. Thanks - I’m a beginner in this hobby.
I got 2 of the cut 50 one at home n one at work they work really good for 200 bucks a piece...he needs to get rid of the 120v extension cord n get a proper 220/240v it will cut better I always have mine at 220 n 70 psi
So if you are doing stuff like 18 gauge or so like body panels it sounds like it would be great for buzzing rusted panels off haha or some light shop work for 250 bucks that's not bad now we just gotta see how long it lives :) hopefully a good while
Have a Cut 50, bought it 2 years ago. 110/120v it will pull over 20 amps, very picky about how clean the metal was (new metal fine, some rust or paint and it punched holes like Morse code).
I got an Air Max pro 180 has a built-in air compressor got it down here the local welding shop. It works all right does the same 110 / 220 just by changing out the head of the plug.
That's not too bad at all for the price. I'm running a Hypertherm myself and can say it'd cut that quarter inch in probably a quarter the time and a fair bit cleaner. But for a tool of occasional use, that'll get the job done!
On our plasma cutter at home also a smaller one. It seems to want all the psi to cut. In fact I think we delated the regulator off it and it will cut a lot better now
Get away from the coast and the big cities and you'll find lots of guys like Sam. Pretty much the same everywhere. City folks generally lean left, and more rural folks generally lean right. I know places in Illinois where people proudly wave their Confederate flags.... which makes zero sense, but here we are.
