This is like a once in a lifetime opportunity. You could literally order the cartridge for each of those boxes, then resell them as complete and probably make all your money back for the whole unit. Just goes to show how important those connections are! Keep at it Rick. PS:cant believe you left us with that cliffhanger.

Oh man. Picking finds like this storage unit is the video game collector's DREAM. I would've LOVED to find even just those empty cases. Preserving them is like preserving a piece of Americana and culture as far as I'm concerned. The retro decades of the 80's/90's were just the best. Gaming qualities were still at their peak, video games were actually GREAT. If I found a storage unit like this on my own dime I would probably be able to die happy and feel complete with my life. Keep living the dream, guys! As a VERY strong supporter of keeping the CHOICE between physical and digital media alive, you have my heartfelt thanks for digging for these finds and putting in all that hard work.

I never thought I would get hooked watching your collection grow and the amazing videos and energy you put out. I love the nostalgia collectibles and your channel makes me feel like I go with you on an adventure every time. Being stuck abroad because of work and not being able to come home, sucks, but watching your videos, keeps my passion for gaming and collecting in this part of the world.

Hey Rick Been watching your channel for a couple of years now and I'm finally getting around to posting my first comment. Your content is some of the most entertaining as well as informative videos that I've come across. As a kid that grew up in the 80's and 90's, so much of what you come across stands out to me and the nostalgic feelings that just flow through when you find old games, toys, and movies that defined who we were as kids of that generation and have not seen or heard about in decades is phenomenal. What you have done and continue to do with this channel is amazing and inspires me to keep going with my own collection so that the nostalgic times of the 80's & 90's never die. Words simply cannot express how much I appreciate all of the content you post. Keep up the incredible work!

Why didn't game exchange ship the inventory to other stores? They have several stores and they lose the inventory to a storage locker? Maybe their business is in trouble?

The Searcy game exchange was somehow not directly affiliated with the other stores (a franchise maybe?). When the stores in my part of NE AR and West TN would have sales, Searcy would not have the same offers. Go an hour SW to Little Rock or Hot Springs, same sale offers. Also it was evident in their prices on the whole being higher.

His store only does board games, Magic the Gathering, D&D etc. He only had interest in keeping the super popular games to bring more people into his store.

There are folks in these comments who have some funny ideas about reselling. If you're handling big ticket items, high end games, you don't have time to flip a Gameboy Advance game that's worth 5 bucks (Free shipping) on eBay that you got for 50 cents bulk priced. You gotta sell the big stuff, ship it, and do marketing. Most of those games are NOT worth even $1 wholesale and I say that as someone who has been into flipping their whole life, and recently invested like 10k into a closed shop. It can sit in a brick and mortar store, sure, or even a flea market, but that in itself entails even more labor. Your time is also your money, and spending too much time on something that doesn't even sell for 10 bucks is just undervaluing your labor. To each their own though. Rick got a good score and is gonna have a ton of labor ahead of him, but those BOXES !!!

I agree, everyone who sells low priced items mind as well sell in bulk for example if you have 100 gameboy games worth roughly 50c to a dollar, you mind as well sell it all instead of spending hours a day pricing each item so if you spend 8 hours pricing them all only to eventually sell them 3 years down the road you already lost money the moment you spend 8 hours

I'm from El Paso and recently I came across a guy on OfferUp that was selling a huge video game lot . I think he had 12 Nintendo entertainment systems with the cables and controllers a couple Sega Genesis some old-school Ataris and a bunch of games too many to count. I asked him how much he wanted for the whole lot . He wanted like $4,000. To be honest I think he was asking a bit too much considering that a lot of the labels were pretty messed up. At least the ones that I saw in the pictures. But I'm sure he had some gems in there . It was a bit too much for me to invest so I decided to pass on the deal.

I bought an abandoned storage unit similar to this right before COVID-19 hit. The building owner sold me the entire unit for less than $1k if I didn't dig thru first. He just wanted the stuff gone. I sold 3 games in my retail store and paid for the entire unit. Literally thousands of games, movies, music items and posters. The guy who had the stuff stored defaulted on the unit 5 years before I bought it. The building owner sold a few pieces and stored the rest.
