I bought an 05, rust free, low mileage LJ with a hardtop and nearly perfect paint for $23,500 in 2023. I’ve already put $5k in it on restorations, suspension, tires, lighting, etc… Fun vehicles are like vacations, you’re paying for an experience and you’ll never see that money back.
I thought that bought, in this context, had to do with paying a shop to do mods rather than doing your own fab work. I bought my 95 YJ stock and it has evolved over time. A lot of the work has been done by Jeep shops, but I've done enough to feel I've done some of the building. And I agree that buying a well modified Jeep is often a great deal.
When I bought my 03 TJ it was bone stock , so everything that has been done to it is by me. Yeas you can invest a lot of money into one of these . I probably have 10k in mine or more without the purchase price . So I guess I would fall into the category of built not bought. Great video again Derek. Take care and catch you on your next video. Oh and thank you for your kind words on IG. I appreciate it. I will have more pics coming as the conversion takes place.
