Hope you show a video if you got to meet them at the convention. I would pay to get there autographs because in my opinion best live action daredevil and kingpin.
I had that Guns of Navarone playset when i was young. For years ive been trying to remember what it was called and who made it. Brings back lots of great memories. Thank you!
Another awesome episode!!! Thanks fellas! Really looking forward to seeing the Froggy Flips episode (if you show that footage)! Was super cool seeing you on his channel! :D
Hey Ryan, just started watching. Your videos are great! One suggestion is to turn up the volume on the videos. They are pretty low! Except when you do the retro commercials, those are pretty loud haha!
@@toyfederation I do! I usually have to turn up your videos extra though. And then when you do the vintage commercials, those are normal volume and are much louder in comparison. Just a heads-up, you're free to do your videos as you please.
I was completely unaware of the Iwa Jima playset until I started watching this channel. I LOVE playsets. That one especially looked like it had a great box. MASK Bolder Hill is still my all time favorite playset :)
LEGO sets still with minifigures very nice! Even better when there's unique minifigures to that set, Leia and Han from that set go for themselves about 40 dollars each
What do you mean by there was never a ham storm trooper. Except for the front loops Govea away one. What about that one. Is just a face change ? New to the Chanel love your store hopefully one day I’ll go and buy bunch of stuff
I was wondering what that guy was doing standing around, too bad Vincent D’onofrio didn’t come out and talk about what he was there looking for. If he’s looking for anything your the guy to see.
Good Lord you know I'm starting to realize there's nothing more challenging than seeing aging men now selling their lifelong Collectibles the in the back of their car you know essentially for what gas money makes me just totally wanted never collect any kind of merchandise cuz it's just not worth anything
Lookin for Vintage Lincoln Monster Phantom of Opera all original clothes min paint wear loose or MOC. I also got a hudge vintage GI Joe Collection Minty all weapons, Vehicles and comics will be selling this yr! All GI JoE!🫡
When evaluating a collector's market, saying something is "worthless, in my opinion," has zero validity. Value is determined by the market, not whether you personally like it or not. I have no interest in vintage Disney stuff, but i wouldn't call it "worthless" just because i don't want it. Clearly, many people do.
@@trekkiejunk Slightly contradicting yourself, he is a part of the market, his opinion has validity wether you can accept it or not. And clearly he isn't alone. For me the NES system was also the best thing in the video and the figures really didn't excite me.
@trekkiejunk The 90s Star Wars stuff really doesn't have a lot of value at the moment. Maybe if you have one of the more sought after paint or packaging variants, there are a couple pricey ones. But that line has yet to experience a "boom," so to speak. It could happen someday, but a lot of people bought them up back in the day speculating they'd be worth a lot like the real vintage Star Wars stuff. If the world lasts long enough, I think it'll eventually appreciate.
*Again never ever ever EVER make the first offer* _The guy just did himself in_ *Sales people will ask "how much you want for it" first, that's how they make profit, not a bad thing.*
Do you know what……..in my 45 years, I’ve been a soldier, worked as a prison & police officer………I would absolutely love to work in this guys shop & live out my last days in peace & geeky quietness…….I would be happy 👍
I’m not even joking!……the crap I’ve seen & done………if I ever came to America to live from England…….I’d wanna work in a shop like that with a chilled peaceful atmosphere……..great vids 👍
This episode is fantastic. I am always happy to see someone find a nostalgic toy piece from their childhood. I am delighted to see that Ryan found a piece (or two) from his childhood that brought pure joy to his face. I can still remember saving up the money I made from babysitting the neighbor kids when I was 13, so I could order an NES. I lived in in Izmir, Turkey at this time, and even after an order was placed it could take 30-45 days for an order to arrive. I remember receiving and opening the NES and feeling so "grown up", yet extremely giddy with childish wonder. Seeing another in this video brought those memories flooding back.
Just discovered your channel, absolutely love it! Subbed! Would love to go to your store someday. You seem like a super nice guy who obviously know your stuff. You kinda remind me of Steve Buscemi. Mean that in a good way!
Seein as im from the South myself , i like this guy! :D he,s just thinin out the hauls , & tryin to make a decent buck. Not a bad haul over all & the man didnt even have to rent a booth!
20:20 I was wondering why that guy in the background was acting a little shady, pacing back and forth and eyeing the camera. Turns out he's a bodyguard
I'd Be All Over That NES Collection Even Tho i Got More Then Enough in My Collection 😅.. I'd Definitely Stay Away From Those Newer Starwars Figs, Never Got Into Starwars Lego, Only Classic Lego Space Police, Explorer, MTron 😊...Large TOMY Zoids Are The Valuable Grails..Tinys... Nah Pass 😜
The Vintage Toy World needs more like him . I wish my local buy, sell, trade Toy store had a owner like Ryan that's fair . I took a un-opened mint RTOJ Ewok Village , A Ewok Battle Wagon opened with the box and all the parts , a un-opened LEGO Star Wars Ultimate Collector Series X-Wing Fighter . I wanted 1200.00 for all 3 so i could by my daughter her first car . The guy pulled a Pawn Stars Rick move on me talking about storage , listing , shipping , etc. he offered 925. 00 . . .his final offer 1000.00 even he even stuck hid hand out to shake with a smile on his face , I told him no thanks he was lowballing me and i left . Here's the odd part he had a Ewok village in his display window no box and it was missing parts for 300.00
@NATIVESUNSETS65 Yeah... I was talking about the guy Ryan was buying from that kept saying hpw "honest" he was. In that scenario he would be the Seller and Ryan the Buyer.
lol great point and yeah he strikes me as a liar. He scammed an elderly guy from his son's toys, a lot of nice stuff, especially Star Wars. Look for the title "He Didn't Know he had Rare Vintage Toys in His Attic!" tell me if $1500 is not robbery... "but I'm honest" 18:14 he offers $20 for that box with 2 tonka vehicles alone worth $70 easily. He's a douchebag. Unlike Craigslist Hunter on RU-vid who is actually honest and reasonable.
Man, you ate such a class act to deal with. Really know how to explain to people what they have versus what you know you can get out of them. The "modern" collection market must be so hard to deal with, especially when it's someone you obviously know. Think just because it's a well know i.p. and unopened it's worth $$$$$. When reality it's probably not even work the plastic box it's in. Keep up the awesome stuff
I like this guy!! But why in the hell is he willing to part with his prized possessions for so cheap? He sounds like he's pretty knowledgeable and not just some dude that found stuff in granny's attic. I guess we all have our reasons.
I respect your business and especially how you care about the figures when putting them together If I was into figure buying your business is definitely one of the places I'd come to to know I was getting genuine authentic matched stuff, I'm more into the gaming game collecting side
Unreal scores! 😮 Love seeing these kinds of treasures. As a 40+ year old kid...I really appreciate this kind of content. Keep up the great work guys! 😊
@@toyfederationmy dad recently piled up my old toys and I was lucky enough to find my Gen 1 Grimloc ❤ I remember the night I went to KB Toys in Waterville Maine at the Elm Plaza and saw him sitting there...I had to have it! The store clerk was a guy in his early 20's and he was like the coolest guy in the world cause he worked at KB Toys haha Funny how finding something like an old toy, a game, album or movie can spark a rush of memories and an urge to SPLURGE on something 😄 🎉 I need to look into this toy convention you are talking about...I do comic cons and STUFF with my Gwar approved character. Be cool to come see some toys!!!
You should have the retro game store fill a cabinet at your shop and you do the same at his to cross promote each other. I'm sure the venn diagram has quite the overlap in retro toys and games.
@@toyfederation Just the amount of times he said it. It could be just his habit when talking about his stuff, but it just felt excessive. But I also understand this is an edited video of an interaction and you probably have a relationship with this guy and know he's trustworthy.
Why does it have to end? So good, so much fun to watch. You guys do a great job. Love the Star Wars blaster info too. I only knew about the black blaster going with Stormtrooper Luke.
My biggest takeaway from your videos lately (besides that if you go to Retro-Toy Con that you are going to have a lot of fun) is how important it is to balance being genuine + patient + courteous with someone trying to sell to you, while also conveying a direct approach to your interest level + price points. Your content is a lot more levels than a Pawn Stars or American Pickers. Thanks for giving us a peek behind the curtains of your business.
He did have a lot of patience. That gentleman was just tossing stuff out there to see what would stick, “I know you didn’t mention having any of these in your store, but I have a forty five year old house wife, she works, cooks, doesn’t like to clean, I don’t take her out much and I haven’t checked out how much she is worth on EBay, would ya give me a hundred for her”? “Honestly we aren’t into human trafficking, we are a toy store”. “Okay, would ya give me ten bucks for her”?
Great video , was looking forward to ur next drop . Can't wait to come visit ur shop in the winter time . Hoping u have a few things I'm looking for to add to my collection
