As I'm waiting in the doctor's office, i just came across your video. This brings back childhood memories because my Grandma use to make this exact same stew after harvesting vegetables from her garden. She was from Edmundston, New Brunswick, so i guess her stew would be " Bouilli du Nouveau Brunswick.

Bonjour Lucy, tu es la bienvenue. Comme je mentiondans le vidéo, je me suis trompée et j'ai ajouté les pommes de terre trop tot... c'est la vie, lol! Ajoute-les dans la dernière demi-heure de cuisson. Passe un très beau weekend ☺
Not quite... It's more fatty because it's usually made from pork belly and it's not smoked. Definitely don't use a pork loin chop. If you want a substitute, use bacon instead. What you want is to get the saltiness in the stew. Now if using bacon, you'll get the smokiness as well which is totally not the traditional dish. Have a fabulous weekend Jen ☺
