I keep passing on it and each year it goes up in price. At 99 I'm in, anything more I'm out, esp with no age statement. ECBP LBP OFSiBBS JDSiBBS etc... Hit the spot and not overpriced to start with & going up and up in price every year
I need to start reading more. Thanks for teaching us a bit , One interview I remember in particular was when you were sitting with a gentleman who was bringing a line of bourbon. You shared with him an old one and I was amazed. But more interesting was the fact that you were able to bring him back to childhood memories and things that thankful. My goodness. That was my favorite episode of any broadcast you have ever done. It was total class. The truest in the best sense of the word SIR
It's a great bottle, picked one up about a month ago & this is my third release in the last three yrs.. That said it's just not good enough to continue buying at this horrible price. IMO should be around $100 no more.
Went to WR last summer and did the tour. It was great! As we made our way into the mash room, a big smell of bananas was noticed by everyone. Our tour guide commented that it is a characteristic note of Woodford Reserve
It still makes no sense to me why it is so expensive it is literally just a barrel proof Woodford Reserve if anything it should be $15 more than the small batch
My understanding is that they take a batch from a limited upper section of the rick to get the best juice so the price is just an extension of the smaller number of barrels they can make of it per year. Having tasted it I definitely do not think the normal WR at BP would taste anything like this stuff. It's expensive, maybe a bit too expensive but it's better than Bookers to me. I've had $200 bottles this stuff beats. I grabbed mine at msrp and it was completely worth it.
@@MrStreetninja007 yeah as he says OF1920 is a much better proposition, this is a specialty product like Bookers. EC and Larceny BP are basically the best value for money you can get. This stuff has a nice banana note and stands enough apart to justify it as a luxury buy but that's about it, I won't hunt it.
@@markcalhoun8219 yeah I've had plenty of opportunities in the past two years to get plenty of them I just always pass because it's way too high of an MSRP for what it is
Picked up this one and last years at Costco for $108. Both are phenomenal. Agree that last years edged this years and was a bit more complex but very happy to have both on the shelf.
I appreciate all of your knowledge. You have helped my spirit journey. I have actually been digging Irish whiskey lately, but still a bourbon dude at heart. Keep up the good work!!!
@@FredMinnickstinks to hear you got the injured ribs. Happy to hear you’ll be rolling again. I’ve injured ribs in the past and it stunk. May you have a speedy recovery
I think they are spoiled from 15-20 years ago and the low prices compared to the quality of product kind of like Scotch 30-40 years ago. It's a good thing those times didn't last or we wouldn't have the selection or innovation in Whiskey we do today.
