In this episode, I review the first release of the Heaven Hill Grain to Glass series.
Bourbon (6/10): The strange dull earthy note throughout the middle puts a damper on this but it’s smooth and viscous with a brown sugar, apple, and pear taste.
Wheated Bourbon (7/10): Very solid with a great syrupy texture with a wheat graininess and raspberry red fruit. Great warm finish but nothing incredibly different compared to what’s already on the market.
Rye Whiskey (4.5/10): Boring. Nothing special or unique among ryes in general. Does the signature grainy and punchy notes well with a good warmth on the tongue and throat but there’s better out there for cheaper.
