I studied for two months in Bournemouth. That town is really special for me because I had a great time there and I could visit many interesting places closed to bournemouth like the jurassic coast, poole and christchurch. In addition people living there use to be really helpful and friendly if I have the chance I think I'll try to go there to live. Thank you for the video ^^
I'm glad to read you enjoyed my video of Bournemouth and really appreciate your comments. And very true, sometimes it takes an outsider to see what the place looks. :)
Maybe. B'mth & Poole has been fun over the years. I recall snogging a girl in a graveyard where she decided to jump on gravestone, and I had to move quick before it smashed. Then some chaps I joined up with who had buried an axe in a churchyard. There were fun days out with Saudi students who drank like fish. And there was the various nights out getting either pissed or stoned or grappling with a girl. I cannot say living here has been boring. Much better than most towns in the UK.
In Bmth, CCTV+police+doormen = if you look drunk then you are not allowed in any pubs or clubs. There is not a single nightclub in Poole now. There used to be 5 in the 80's.
+David Hardy My dream is to go to Brisbane one day! I'm studying tourism management at Bournemouth University and I think Australia will be a great place to expand your knowledge and experience!
+David Hardy Two more years, but next year is a 12 month placement year, so could be done abroad, or I could stay in the UK. I am keeping my options open, I have a friend and Brisbane, we don't often communicate cause he's having maintenance issues atm, but it would be good if I had more connections! Bournemouth uni is known worldwide for being one of the most international universities in the world, and tourism is a great industry to specialise in, considering the fact how fast growing it is.
Good question! I've just Googled this and found Durdle Door as classified in Dorset, as Bournemouth is also part of. Looks like your in an interesting place too!
I'm very pleased to read you enjoyed my video of Bournemouth, this was my first (but not last) visit to this seaside town. Your comments are appreciated. Thanks. :)
No public consumption of alcohol is allowed in the town centre. The police will confiscate alcohol in the street, night or day. If you look drunk, you will not gain access to clubs and bars. The doormen and police work together. From the pier, head west towards the Chines, away from families around the pier, and you should be able to get away with a few cans. But CCTV runs along the entire length of the promenade. Bournemouth is one of the most heavily CCTV'ed places in the world.
How unusual to see the war memorial commemorating the 3000 men from Bournemouth ( inc. my Grandfather) who died in the Great War....at this time of 100 years since The Somme where the worst casualties were taken ( July-Nov 1916 ).
Dude, there are fucking loads of places to get hammered in Bournemouth. Literally loads. You have all the pubs/bars/venues/restaurants on Holdenhurst road and old Christchurch road, loads on the way into the town centre including 'dusk til dawn' (2nd best venue in bomo with regards to music quality) and a shit ton of places like wetherspoons and walkabout etc in the town centre. And 60 millions postcards! That place is goddamn beautiful. Bournemouth has loads of shit do do.
I'm considering fucking off to Uruguay one day:) Some of the beaches are also non-smoking. In the 80's and 90's there were plenty of clubs to get hammered in Bournemouth and Poole. But the council now want to display a family image so have clamped down on alcohol abuse. However, there are still two casinos and four lap dance bars.
lol oops sorry got your message too late else i'd had saved you my last box of beer, damn i had to go for some job interviews in basingstoke, dreadful place happy new year too hope you manage to sleep it off at work
Bournemouth is a place of extremes these days too posh in places and then full of drugs in other places, in my opinion it was a better and more friendlier town in the old days when it was part of Hampshire
+paul Hobbs - extremes are not isolated just to Bournemouth, the divide and drugs are now common in many places in the UK - a sign of the times, for better or worse. Thanks for leaving your comment :)
