Cine film footage taken by my Dad Rod Bean in 1969 showing a drive through Bournemouth and Poole (inc Poole Park Train) + a lit bit of Tucktonia filmed in 1972
Bournemouth is my home town. I remember the 1970 my mother would take me to Bournemouth shopping and we would have lunch in Fortes with the big turtle display. you will know what i mean if you ever went there. .Oh happy days.
Lovely to see Bournemouth as it was in the early 70s. I recognize some of those roads. Funny how things change and yet stay the same. Clever use of photography on sunshine days to make it look like Bournemouth is sunny all the time - or maybe it was back then...?
I think the wavy slide at the end of the film is Tucktonia fun park which had rides an amusement arcade and a miniature model of famous places in the UK. there to entertain the visitors at Christchurch where there was a Pontins holiday camp where the Captains club at Christchurch Harbour now stands.Tucktonia fun park was demolished in the mid 1980's as i remember.
