Lovely video! We tried this in the Scouts many years ago - it does actually work! The resin idea is brand new for me though so I'm really glad I found this. How does it make the required friction with that slippery resin?. In the Scouts we used shavings from telegraph poles as they used to be covered in creosote! Subscribed.
Hey thre - first of all thanks for your comment and the sub, appreciate it. :) If it wasn't mentioned clearly in the video: You want most of your friction on the drilling end of the spindle and as little friction as possible at the upper end in the bearing block. So the resin is only used for the very cavity of the bearing block, never at the hearth board. By the way, I remember the Solex video - are you riding any other 50cc? :)
@@RathwulvenBushcraft Ah I see - yes that's obvious re the lubricating grease. Moped-wise I've only got the Solex but I'd love to have a Puch Maxi ('Maxi-Touring' is a good channel). Been getting the Solex ready for Spring recently i.e. lookingi at it and thinking about mixing up some 2-stroke fuel!
