Beautiful! Beautiful spirit of Jamaican people! People need to understand that these were thriving areas at one time. Ships rolling in. People rowing out to them in smaller boats to sell their fruits and vegetables.

Steve McQueen and Dustin Hoffman. In Papillion (French for Butterfly) a small portion of this movie back in the 70's was filmed in Bowden. We used to see a crok sunning himself on the swamp Bank coming from school .

Thanks Bigsuper, I am from Old Pera. Been to Bowden wharf as a child many many times. My parents worked there. That building was the main office of the Banana Board for Bowden. You brought back so many memories for me. From Morant Bay straight to Bowden. I close my eyes and I see everything. That was such a thriving and busy community back in the days 70s. The harbour was so busy with sugar and banana ships and pretty yacths anchored. The owners lived up in the hills. Wish I was walking there with you. Thank you for taking me on your journey. I enjoyed the one to Old Pera, you passed my family house. The roads are in a very bad state. Thanks for highliting the problem. Thanks again and keep up the good work.

We used to see the sugar trucks from duckenfield factory aa bb cc dd ff gg. They were struggling under the weight of the sugar taking it to bowden.

This vlog brought back many memories...the community I lived in for years, the road I walked, people I grew up with, the oyster farm where I had my first job. Bowden is the community in which I grew up from being a boy to becoming a young man. So many memories. Looking out for the Wheelerfield vlog. That one will take me back to where it all started.
