Pacqueta on the left cutting in front of Emerson, Kudus as the central number 10, Bowen on the right, Fulkrug up top, Soler as the 8, Alvarez the 6, Wan Bissaka right back, Areola , Mav and Kilman or Todibo and Kilman centre backs. Paqman can be a second 8 as well as left mid at the same time with Emerson covering. You then never have to say goodbye to Jimmy Summerville as he can come on as sub when Paqueta's game is done.

Agree with Brian's idea - Paqueta doesn't have to be a 100% starter does he? I support Paqueta, but Summerville looks wily, electric and, if given time, may be that left winger we've been looking for. Kudus in the middle excites me, as he's not pushed left, and Bowen on the right, and Kudus can carry that ball - he is a test for any defence and is dangerous whenever he's on the ball. Bringing Paqueta on is also an amazing choice.

hear me out here, back three of killman(L) alvarez(C) todibo(R) left mid is Summerville left cm is paq middle cam is kudus right cm soler and rm is awb fulkrug(L) up top with Bowen(R), here's my explination to why this would wor, the back three work perfect both killman and alv have both had experience playing cb in a back three, the lm and lcm paq and cry work best of the left and are directly behind fulkrug who needs the passes, kudus in the cam and middle so he can pick the ball up and drive, soler in the rcm perfect to control the ball, awb on the rm he's proven his dribbling and passes are perfect to be able to play more advanced, plus having Bowen infront of him means he doesn't need to have his play focused on setting up Bowen like cry and paq do in this system which id say is awbs weakest part of his game, let me know what you think of that because I believe its our best starting lineup

It’s a great lineup against any team. There are options from the bench to replace the first eleven in every position except Killman. A front two of Fullkrug and Bowen is very threatening. And amazingly this will finally suit Ings. Go figure!

When we're up against weaker teams, dominating possession and playing higher up the pitch, I'd play 4-2-3-1 with Fullkrug or Antonio starting in front of Bowen, Paqueta and Kudus, but those three rotating positions. Against the stronger sides we could play 4-3-3 with a front three of Kudus, Bowen (rotating) and Summerville and a midfield three of Soler, Álvarez and Paqueta.

We simply have to get Kudus off the left wing and, if he is not going to play wide right, then he has to play centrally. If that means dropping Paqueta then so be it. He hasn't done much for the last 10 games of last season and the first few of this. We have plenty of alternatives as a No.10 now including Kudus and Soler

Surely the point is, we have so many options now, if we don't know what strategy and what team formation we will play, then our opponents won't either! The problem with David Moyes' teams were their total predictibility and the fact you knew who was going to play every single game.

I would like to see two versions; Bowen Up front, Kudus 10, Summerville (Left), Luis Guilerhme on the right, (Paqueta in the 8 position for lower teams) ... if you want paqueta in the team then Kudus is on the right and Paqueta in the 10. Both work for me. Bowen has to play upfront, i think he is our best striker.

I’m a massive Bowen fan, but the uncomfortable question is: is he a better striker than fulkrug, is he a better rw than kudus (right now), is he a better lw than Summerville, no idea what I would do if I was manager. Not sure you can throw him on the bench but I have to say kudus on the right Summerville on the left with a proper no 9 in the middle sounds exciting

My favoured front 4 would be Soler number 10 (once his settled) kudus on right bowen through the middle and Paqueta on the left with Fullkrug and Summerville as impact subs. Paqueta can't be dropped at all for me until we've seen Soler fully settle in because we lack the creativity without him.

Like to see us at least try Kudus as the 10 with Paqueta the 8 both of which seem natural positions for them however they will both lose possession in the middle of the pitch at times but that’s the price of playing in a less Moyesball style surely - we have to learn to live with that IF we want to see the more expansive risky football that the masses were calling for last season ….

This whole conundrum gets solved by just dropping Soucek or Guido and putting Kudus in the 8. Coming from someone who’s been following him since he was in Denmark, the box to box midfield position alongside Alvarez is his best position. Leave Paqueta at the 10 and Bowen on the right, Summerville on the left. It’s REALLLLY not that difficult and I don’t understand why coaches refuse to do it. I promise you the midfield and attack would be 100x better. It’s so frustrating seeing him played out of position week in and week out.

It's hard with kudus being better on the right but you can't replace bowen unless he goes ST but then you are replacing Füllkrug, I like paqueta even after his not so good performance last game, I do want to see summerville tbh I think maybe the best attack we can have is Bowen on the right Füllkrug as a Striker, Summerville on the left and Kudus in the middle with summerville and bowen just by him, I'm not sure if paqueta would fit in unless he is a defensive midfielder but I think that might be out best attack

Fülkrug is a top striker who’s new to the prem, you have to give him time and start him after the international break. You can’t judge him after a few substitute performances against top sides and a cup game where the whole team didn’t even perform well! Bowen upfront is situational depending on the opposition. But then again if pace is the worry what’s the problem having a big target man that occupies the centre back and then using the pace on the wings to create chances.

Last season we had too many similar players, with some being played out of position to get them on the pitch. Now, despite offloading three of those players we appear to have the same issue, and still haven't addressed the position of striker.

I think kudus is a 10 and should be his position so build the team around him and find out who plays with the best with him. Paqueta on the left or Summerville. Kudus being central can make him flexible switching/covering the RW and LW cos Bowen and Paqman/Summerville can both come in central too.... Having them being fluid and understanding this style could be dangerously good.

Kudus through the middle is the quandary Team J-Lo should coach for. It is a must, as it is our best-attacking threat. Depending on defence numbers, a midfield anchor pairing or 3 is J-Lo's decision based on the opposition threat. Ideal front four: Cry (LW), Bowen (RW), Kudus (10) & Fulkrug (CF).

Lopetegui only played Alvarez and Rodriguez together for City it won't be permanent. Kudus plays his best as a 10 Paqueta as an 8 Bowen on the right as proven last season We have to see a Alvarez Paqueta Kudus midfield at some point

I'd play Paquetta left Kudus central and Bowen right but with all three interchanging throughout the game I think that would get the best out of all three and play fullkrug in front of them. Def no to Bowen as a striker he can play there but it takes to much out of his natural game

Paqueta and Kudus behind them and let them run rampant between them . Alvarez can be be behind them and drop back to help the CBs and AWB on the right and Emerson on the left. The paqueta ‘hate’ has been ridiculous. Against palace he broke up their play and won us possession so many times. And against city he also won many duels and played plenty forwards. His composure and vision from our own goal line is what set up that counter attack against city. His expectation is very high but he hasn’t got the open space and 100 runs infront of him all the time, but he gets the blame.

Personally I would try Kudus up top, he’s faster than Bowen, he’s hold up play is better than Bowen, if defenders are tight to him he’s more skilful then Bowen to get away from them. He’s stronger than Bowen as well.

Why can’t Mo & Paq share/switch between the LW and No.10 position? They are clever enough players to cover is other when one drifts in/out , then we get (not a perfect) solution to having Mo in the middle and Paq on the left, many never like paq on the left but it has to be said that he’s possibly played his best there and it gets the best from Emerson.

Bowen upfront is a no no for me....what if we put bowen upfront and he plays crap but at the same time we put kudus on the right and he's motm every game..we then can't just switch bowen back on the right and put kudus on the left because that would piss of kudus and it makes it difficult to rest bowen if he's playing crap up front because he's now our captain which I think is a bad choice....I don't like the idea of having to fit all our favourite players and big names in the starting Xi ...in the end I think kudus or paqueta will just to be left out for the start Xi to get the balance of the team correct...kudus has to start in my opinion cause he's our most dangerous attacker but only he's correct position...paqueta gets the best out of Emerson when he plays on the left...Emerson is very bog standard without he's best mate paqueta helping him....just my opinion...coyi

Mainly to get him into shooting positions as I think he’s a great striker of the ball, there was an opportunity to shoot against City and he tried to pass but it got cut out. Plus it would allow him to pick the ball up deeper and from the right as well as the left and turn to dribble. I agree - his creativity isn’t the best but what if I told you he has the most assist for us in 2024?

Our biggest problem is putting a lone striker up top all alone We really need to stop that and play 4 3 3. Füllkrug said in his first interview for the club that he can't do it all alone

Re: Steve & Gonzo, we’ve done nothing but support Paq from the beginning. He’s had all the help he needs. And as for Lucas playing ok at the Copa, he wasn’t. I watched all of his full games. He was awful in one of the poorest Brazil sides in decades. The entire Brazil side was awful. As for Fullkrug, I do think we have to start him a couple of games before we decide he’s not the one. His chances have mostly been limited to late game cameos when he’s got to play next to Tommy and the rest of the side is tired. He needs a chance to play with our starters when they’re fresh. To judge him as is makes no sense. The one game he started was with Soucek next to him, and that doesn’t work at any point of the game. It’s Antonio that needs to drop down the pecking order.

Kudus CANNOT be on the left anymore. With the new signings especially at CB I don’t think we need two defensive midfielders. Summerville left, kudus and paq in the middle with the option of Soler subbing in for one or the other, then alvarez or guido as the 1 CDM.

Bowen makes an excellent number 9. He proved that last year. Played central a lot with barely any chqnces created and still scored loads.
