I’ve been trying to decide between these two out of all the ANC headphones and I finally went for Momentum 4 just like many others and I gotta say, these things are freakin amazing. Listening to rock and metal is pretty good, the seperation the detail is there and with the right EQ you can get a pretty neutral sound(you gotta lower the bass -3db tho) but with EDM these things are absolutely I-N-S-A-N-E. If you’re EDM and bass lover don’t even think about it just get momentum 4, if you’re more into vocals and neutral sound then go with the px7s2. Till I got it I thought Momentum 4 was ugly but it looks really classy and cool but I still like the design of px7s2 better
@@helixgaming9058 Nope. Some music sources are just quiet. So, if headphones have power in reserve, the sound is too quiet overall. That's a common problem for Bluetooth headphones, since manufacturers lower loudness sometimes to show better battery life
@@8000860 I still think you’re going to be satisfied. I’m using spotify and I can’t listen with max sound even in the gym, and it’s ANC is pretty good so I don’t need to crank up the volume to emjoy the music.
had to return momentum 4s even though their sound is very good. Their cheap plastic when touched by hoodie, or pillow when lying down and using laptop etc. RUINS the sound as squeky/creaking plastic sound penetrates through the cups in your ear... Even sony xm4s (they have soft touch plastic) sound better because of this in my use. In addition over ear detection, auto play/pause and touch controls are buggy as HELL. If senheiser didnt skimp on quality on other areas besides the sound they would be the absolute best anc headphones. Combine sony xm4 comfort and usability to senheiser audio quality you have 10/10....
Great review, thoughtful and good comparative analysis. I bought the Momentum 4. High quality, price was excellent, ($300), they sound great, and I love the 60 hour battery life, that's insanely good and long. I can listen for 2-3 weeks before I need to recharge. I agree with the other comments that either one is a good choice, it's a matter of personal preference.
This shows exactly why I had such a hard time deciding between those two. I finally went for the Momentum 4 because of their user experience and their lower price. But I'm still thinking every now and then whether I should have gone for the PX7 S2 instead. As you said, both sound great in their own ways, both equally good, but with a different tuning. And sometimes I'd prefer the PX7 S2 tuning.
I just bought the momentum 4’s. I was highly disappointed. That’s saying a lot because I’m a huge sennheiser fan. I think the momentum 3’s sound far better than the 4’s. I’m going to upgrade to px7 or px8
Just spent a few hours with both. I have owned a pair of HD600s for a decade (or more) and love their sound. And I've never enjoyed the B&W speaker sound - too bright and clinical for me. So, I was really surprised how disappointing the Sennheisers were. The bass is prominent - but not in a good way. The bottom end has bloom and tramples over the mids. It's not a though they lack detail or presence - but it's tiring trying to get past all that 'Beats teenage' tuning. Then the PX7 S2e (catchy name that) went on and 'Wow!'. They impressed me immediately. Bass on Lou Reed's "Walk on the Wild Side" felt solid but not mushy'. I could hear Herbie Flower's twinned bass line clearly and Reed's vocals were warmer than the HD600s - but very well presented. I played a ton of acoustic stuff and they are cohesive and musical. Moving to Janos Starker's excellent recording of Bach's cello suites was equally rewarding. The cello has great timbre and I feel I can hear both the fretting and the woodiness of this gorgeous cello. open.qobuz.com/album/0090266143627 The Momentum 4's went back. I can't afford the PX8 but I'm tempted...
Which all goes to show - these, like several others in this price range are all very good and the differences are largely down to individual preferences and the type of music one listens to. There's no right or wrong choice.
Fantastic! For my ears, the M4's has an increidble bass and cleaner highs. I love Gorillaz, the base in their songs are so 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 which one headphones you'd say is the best for that kind of music genre? Best video ever, you got a new sub, my bro! 🤙🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻
Sorry for this question man, but I watch this video and still unsure The ONLY 2 things that are important for me are comfort 1. (I tend to keep my headphones on for a few hours) and 2, sound quality. ( I listen to mostly reggae music with lots of bass) So please answer this, should I buy the PX7 S2 or the Mom 4? I don't care about phone calling or ANC, and I don't understand some of the jargons like warm sound and tight bass. I currently have a Bose QC35 ii It is very comfortable for listening to podcast, but not too exciting for listening to reggae music
Both headphones sound good with Reggae music there is more bass without eq on the Momentum 4, both are comfortable as I discussed during the video and the build quality feels more premium on the PX7s2. Honestly both headphones are good, I find the PX7s2 to be a bit better at not holding heat when wearing for longer periods of time. If bass quantity and a more fun sound (think a party or night club) are a top priority try the Momentum 4, if more realistic bass that is tighter in character and a bit more balanced overall sound (think a better balanced small recording studio) then try the PX7s2. The character of bass can be tight or lose in its presentation this isn’t jargon but descriptive words used to convey the audible signature. Maybe we will create a video on terminology to help with this some. @Paul Lindo I hope that helps, thanks for watching.
I own both. Momentum 4 sound quite a bit better. Tighter, deeper, punchier bass, way better midrange and treble. Px7 s2 is bright, and it lacks soundstage. It also colors the sound more by really pushing the distance forward, so it can get really fatiguing. Sennheiser sounds more neutral, natural, and clear, with significantly more realistic sounding bass. Px7 s2 sounds a bit congested and less detailed overall.
I'm a sound guy and like bass too. I listen to Metallica, Megadeath big NIN fan as well as Alice in chains then some ol school rap and house which one do u think will be better for those genres?
Update so I listen to the H95s then went to listen to the focal bathy's and px8 at another store and ill be honest the h95 dont sound that loud but loud ebough but the clarity alot better. Im gonna go h95 fir now until the h100 cone out. The salesperson told me that will fix the volume issue and more. I cant imagine how they will sound but the price is gonna be 1300 to 1500 for a pair.
Is there a difference in loudness? I've bought WH-1000xm3 for a gym before, thinking, top Sony headphones couldn't sound bad. Those are loud, but sound is so incredibly dull! I can't imagine how XM3 could cost so much money! The sound is just terrible even for casual gym using. Now I'm choosing between M4 and PX7.
I'm deciding between the Momentum 4 and the PX7 v2 for a birthday present for a friend. He mainly listens to baroque and classical music. I love my PX8 personally, but of the two, which would you recommend just based on sound quality for classical music?
Hmmm probably the Focal Bathys thesourceav.com/products/focal-bathys or the Momentum 4 thesourceav.com/products/sennheiser-momentum-4-wireless but if you want the best ANC and are willing to sacrifice sound quality for it then the Sony thesourceav.com/products/sony-wh-1000xm5
Which one do you think is better for movies? the momentum 4? or the sony xm5? or the px7 s2? also, which one of these three do you think reaches higher volumes(if thats even relevant)? and amazing video btw
I'm lucky to have the px7s and the dali io-6 s,, the px7s sound more warmer, in signature, the Dali's sound more neutral actually, more analytic with a lighter but tighter bass, slightly more detailed, between the sennheiser momentum 4s, bowers px7s, n the Dali's I think the px7s sit in the middle, on build quality I'd give the bowers a struggle to get a 8 due to the flimsy tiny plastic buttons and the Dali's a easy 9, same on comfort, longer listerning maybe favors the warmth fun sound of the px7s
I'm actually choosing between the 3 you've mentionned. I want to know which one is detailed, dynamic with open soundstage and good texture/layering (not bass centric but balanced). And which leaks the less sound to the surrounding? I listen mostly in louder volume 😊. Anc has less importance for me. Sound quality is biggest factor.
Sorry for the late reply, I sold the px7 2s but liked them as nearly as much as the dalis , the warm rich sound was never tiresome on the pxs, sound stage was slightly wider on the dalis, stronger vocals on the pxs and more decreet to wear, both are keepers for different reasons!
Another great comparison. I have a request. Is it possible for you to do a review of Master and Dynamic MW75, please? There are far too few reviews on that headphone
had the chance to LISTEN both , sound i prefer the senns but the build quality is like cheap plastic , so i also tried the focal bathys .... focal got my money
