Chasing Bears again in Northern Saskatchewan with our traditional bows. Watch as I get excellent penetration with a 47lb bow on a big ol black bear while hunting from the ground! Face to face!
Thanks man. Yes gone are the days of THINKING you/we need heavy poundage. Straight flying arrow with a sharp broadhead, kills anything you throw it at!
Nice Black Bear. I used to shoot a Long Bow but like a lot of people I swapped to a Compound Bow used it for many years till all my medical problems in 2017 and I had to swap to a Crossbow haven`t taken anything with it yet but trying. Enjoyed it
Yesssssirrrr!!!! Holy shit that arrow is fast!!! I'm buying my first compound bow this next week but the more and more I think about it I think I'd love to try traditional!! It is just such a bigger accomplishment I think. The practice, the dedication. It's just a special lifestyle it seems. Obviously archery is in itself but traditional is also. Awesome video brother!!! As usual!!
Beautiful shot and footage! It's been fun watching your channel over the years. I have appreciated the real world no b.s. traditional bowhunting videos you have shared with the rest of the world and watching how to pass it on through your son has been inspirational. The funny thing is that we have seen the many phases of your son as he has aged through the years but somehow you look the same. Must be from good living! Great job! The footage and videos keep getting better. Thanks for sharing!
@@gunshyarchery Interesting. What if the arrowhead had smacked right into a rib? Do you think this setup would still have done the job? I imagine bear ribs are... robust!
@@FrogmortonHotchkiss No doubt in my mind it would have broken the rib an done it's job. Maybe not a complete pass though but certainly enough to dispatch the animal. It has happened many times, break a rib going in and then you don't get the pass through and sometimes no exit, but a dead animal none the less.
@@gunshyarchery I have a little horsebow that's at least 50, maybe 55 lb at my draw and gets over 200 fps. Quite something to know it could take a bear! Jeez!
I've shot recurves in the past, these long bows have way less residual vibs after the shot. Watch a recurve in slow motion and then a long bow. Night and day Todd.
Great video again, but this one with various camera angles. Especially with the camera on the other side of the bear, showing the past through, impressive to say the least. One thing I would like to ask, is if you can eventually show us how you set up your bait, that would be interesting to watch and learn about. Yours look very clean and seem to work very well. Popcorn in the drum and on the ground….that was new to me. Thanks again for taking the time to film and share.
I can't be more happy for you than what you just did!!! The zip thru and the bear at the end of the rope. Great shot!!!!! The trad addiction, hope I can do more of this as I took 3 deer with the trad bow over the years in Canada Ontario well southern Ontario
