Jason heads south to Oklahoma to try bowhunting whitetails DIY during the peak of the rut in early November. With two buck tags in his pocket Jason spends 12 days in the stand waiting for something worth driving this far for...
I understand completely about how fulfilling it is to pick a spot, hang a stand and it be productive....sometimes it has taken years but that is even more satisfying. I am also trying to be more in the present and thankful for what I have....so often we are stuck over thinking the past or worrying about the future....but to be in the present is special.
A complete joy to watch you enjoy the entire experience Jason. The scenery where you hunt and your ability to narrate your story is always top-notch. You never seem to have the focus on filling the tag, more of taking in the entire experience and making lasting memories. Thanks for taking us along.
@@jasonmatzingerofficial I know I'm preaching to the converted here. I take my limit of deer every year which is 8 including an A tag and it's a struggle sometimes to avid spine shooting them due to the duck, (jumping the string). The thing that is tough for me is to aim low enough to to hit them for the duck that may not take place and cause injury that isn't fatal but... In my experience the 20-40 yards are the worst for that. Inside 20, got em and beyond 40 they aren't as jumpy if they aren't keyed up/ don't know I'm there.
Excellent per usual. As a Northeast guy whitetail are very abundant here, yet still when I see a nice buck it takes me a few seconds to gather myself. Personally feel like you and your team are the very best out there for hunting videos. Looking forward to Pt. 2.
Howdy Jason. I always just love your videos! They are unique in the way you tell a story. I also love your use of El Wencho music! I am ready to see what else happens on this adventure. Later on Sir.....
Congratulations again Jason on your first DIY Midwest buck 🦌 on some leased land you had access to. That is a great first and I am happy for you. Even though I have had a bow 🏹 since 06 and have yet to take anything with archery 🏹 equipment I still love to get out there. I know that this is a whitetail deer 🦌 film, but I couldn’t help myself by pay attention to all of the ducks 🦆 on that pond.
Howdy Jason. I assume you are back in Oklahoma for your whitetail buck. I see you got a nice one for your meat on the table but are still waiting for that big one! Thank you Jason. Later on Sir...
Oklahoma hunter here. That was not a management buck. That was a young buck. Our state has a motto, let em go, and watch em grow. Imagine 100 out of state people coming here, shooting young bucks, and calling it management. Nope.
The area I was hunting was loaded with lopsided bucks of all ages like this and they wanted them to be managed because it was such a bad genetic in their herd. Doesn’t matter where you live, a bad genetic is exactly that. Everyone has their opinions on herd management and this was ours. Thank you for watching!
@@jasonmatzingerofficial yeah they're real keyed-up on newly established bait piles. Keep paying for that lease and keep the corn coming, they will calm down.
