/ instinctiveadventures Join me as I become the youngest bowhunter ever to harvest a whitetail on the ground while self filming. This is an amazing journey. Warning, some graphic content may not be suitable for all viewers.
I remember the first time I watched this, about a year ago or so, I was impressed with your ground hunt and film work. This video still remains as one of my favorite bowhunting videos. Keep up the good work!
Lol I did, but that timing wasn't made up when I went to get him I jumped up those deer. I was so flustered at that point I forgot to film the full squirrel recovery and by the time I realized it he was already cleaned and ready for the pot
Awesome hunt dude and a great shot! Congratulations! Beautiful little buck... I, like many, love large antlers, but I shoot the buck the day (and a hunter's ethic) gives me. Good job!
I've been compound bowhunting successfully for years, but I want to get into traditional. What bow would you recommend? I mainly hunt on stands and would want one too long . I usually shoot 60# 27 inch draw thanks and great videos brother !
Tino Lopez I hunt a ton from stands now so I get where you’re coming from. I would definitely recommend that if you have a shop that sells trad bows or if you can make it to one of the larger trad shoots where a lot of bows are available to be tested on your own that would be the best. Traditional bows always shoot differently for everyone. That being said I can say with certainty that your gonna love the price difference compound vs stickbow. My most expensive now is a 480 dollar Martin. Everything else is sub 200. The bow I used in this video is a 199 samick take down. I own two samick bows and that’s where I would start if your just getting started. I would also look into a takedown. Simply because my first piece of advice would be to start with a really low poundage set of limbs like 30 or 40# that way you can master form and then instead of buying a whole new bow you can just grab a set of limbs. A great starter bow is the samick sage. I’m sure you’ve probably seen that name a fair bit in your research. It’s a perfect starter bow.
This film is rather old my editing style has changed dramatically. I’m actually working on retelling this story to fit into my style now. I’d welcome you to check in on my newer work.
@@InstinctiveAdventures thank you for the reply! I went back and forced myself, through the "volume" of music, an watched the film in its entirety. My original comment was based entirely on the sound volume. I now, compliment you on the filming. I apologize for my original "knee jerk" reaction. And....outstanding shot, on the squirrel!!!
Paul Kaminski I appreciate the second look. That first song is abrasive to say the least. 19 year old me thought it was great and 29 year old me hates it. I think this story was such a fundamental part of my life that this particular film doesn’t do it justice. I’m definitely going to re edit this story in the near future. If you enjoyed even a small part of this one I recommend you check out “163 miles”, and “the cycle” and “10 years a Bowhunter” the later two films were featured on the traditional Bowhunter magazine website!!
@@InstinctiveAdventures if this is any indication of what I now feel about your work (and hunting abilities an ethics) "Subscribed"! Keep up the good work!
Nice work glad to see the video. I would like to invite you to a all traditional 3 D shoot I think you would totally enjoy. Let me know if you would be interested. You would really like the shoot with other recurve shooters there.
Chris, these 3 D Shoots are indoors there are usually around 20 - 25 recurve shooters there. 4 animals per station there are 7 stations. We shoot at 17yds, 20 yrds, and 23 yards. We do score the targets but only for fun. You compete against yourself only. Three dates left - March 16th, March 30, and April 13th. shoot starts at 6:30 PM. I will take you if your interested and would have you home by 10:00 PM. Let me know if your interested in any of those dates. Also, they feed you at a break.
