He could have done it faster if he didn't go back to lane 1 for the 11th shot. Should have gone to land 6 or 7 as those appeared ready with the ball returned. Also, it's a shame they stopped recording after hitting the 300. He should have kept going to see how long he could continue throwing strikes for. Imagine if he threw down a 900 in under 5 minutes.
thephantom1492 - I don't know if you're saying or think it's fake. From what I can see I don't see ANY indications in the video at all that would show it being fake. I honestly think this is real. It feels genuine through and through from the reactions to the focus on the lens to the general ball shadow and pins ALL falling in a unique different way on every throw and strike.
Actually it is not that impressive at all. To bowl a perfect game in sanctioned league play you bowl the same two lanes for all 12 shots. If you have bowled so long you should know that every time you throw a ball down the lane it picks up oil and the pattern changes. In fact when you bowl against different people their release and style can effect the lane differently from person to person because everyone throws the ball down the lawn differently. So when you bowl against one person to another the oil pattern will be completely different. So you bowl against me the lane would be different from when you bowl a friend and you would have to adjust to us differently because our balls take a different trajectory as they travel down the lane. This is what makes it so hard to bowl a perfect game. You have to adjust as you bowl. Have a freshly oiled lane makes this relatively easy because he knows exactly where to stand for every shot and where to aim. It is a great trick for show however a pro like Jason Belmonte can do this easily.
+Josh D, so you're saying that in real games a lot of the game is up to pure chance, rather than skill, therefore in either case there's nothing much to congratulate. In the case of bowling with others, it's just luck, and bowling alone, it's easy to get consistent strikes?
It is all skill my friend. There has been tests done. They have machines that test the bowling balls. They release the ball the same way every time. This is how they know what the ball is going to do down the lane when they are doing research and development. However like I said there have been tests done and they put a man against the machine and after so many shots a human can beat a machine because the machine can't compensate for the changes in the oil pattern as it is bowled so no it is not chance it is all skill. If you can consistently release the ball the same way every time and pay attention to the pattern you can bowl a perfect game. There where 2 perfect games bowled back to back weeks in my league. It is very easy to get consistent strikes from a skilled bowler on a lane that is freshly oiled. If you notice he is throwing a ball down a different lane every time beside the last two.
For 15 years that's where the record stayed. But unbeknownst to everyone, summoningsalt was secretly working on new time-saving strategies with a closed group of redditors. He realized that if you ran from lane 10 to lane 8, he would save 5 seconds from the world record. In 2032 after countless attempts and perseverance, he streamed it live on TwitchTV...{some purplish video}
I said that as well, it made no sense to run back to lane 1, or run at all. He could have done this whole thing on 2-4 lanes with more balls on the rack.
The two cycle Jaquio lane change still hasn't been successfully accomplished, probably would save an additional .8 on the run. It's been done in a casual game but not officially recorded.
That’s not bad. I just bowled my best game today. Previously was 257 with a house ball. And today I shot a 290. I picked up a 2 pin split. I think 5-10 pin. And then struck out the rest of the game. The next game I played I threw a strike in the first and second frame so I bowled a from my 2nd frame of one game to the 1st frame of the next 😭 not a legit 300 but 13 consecutive strikes… I was stoked to have accomplished that!!! Someone next to me was done bowling and was getting ready to leave but he stopped to watch me. And once I finished my 290 game he asked if I was a professional bowler😂 I said no but I want to be. And he said I have the potential to and score like I already am one. 🙏🏼🤞❤️
Each of those lanes were freshly oiled and lanes 1 and 2 while off camera were probably being prepped (oiled) as the bowler made his way down lanes. Freshly oiled lanes are far more consistent and easier for a good bowler to strike. They would be mostly consistent with the flat oil atop. The balls I suppose could have some differences, but round is round and unless there was a crack and the weight was the same (especially if manufactured by the same company) I doubt the balls contributed too much difference.
@krionic No he works at that bowling alley, and actually shot this after a womans league had finished. He had tried it a time before and got the first 7. I use to bowl with him in Junior league, he is very talented and holds something like a 225 average. He had 8 of his own bowling balls and 2 alley balls that he had to use.
I averaged 223 in YABA. He was off by 10 boards on some shots and still hit the pocket. The lanes were oiled for a wide open pocket. Try it on a PBA oil pattern. My home bowling alley did the same thing. My team was top 10 in the nation. We had easy lanes to bowl on with wide open pockets. In JSBA I only averaged 203. Ask Tommy Jones about me.
I am 40 and the highest game I bowled was 282. The fact you have 10 different balls, 10 different lanes, 10 slightly different oil patterns, literally every odd is against you. Well done sir 👏👏👏
My best friend has multiple 300's with both left and right hands. He's right handed, but often bowls lefty. He has a few bowling related video's on his RU-vid channel ExitThirteen.
This guy does the impossible, 2,000,000 views in 2.5 years. Kim Kardashian releases a "heavily similar version" of SPANX and it gets 100,000,000 hits. Physically, mentally and just pure luck wise, this was beyond an incredible feat. The idea of jumping lanes is even more impressive since most bowlers are very keen on foot placement and arrow location. The ability to reset himself, with a new lane each time, makes this even more impressive. Kudos chap. Kudos.
I'm so sick of haters/trolls when watching entertaining real videos like this. It wasn't a competition. It wasn't for money. It wasn't rigged. I admit he clearly had advantages but he had a goal and accomplished it. It's way easier to sit in your underwear and critique someone else's accomplishments instead of completing a feat many say was "easy". The video doesn't state "Bowler Ben Ketola bowls impossible perfect game." I realize this will start a whole other chain of "hater" esponses but I had to say this. Instead of responding tho, go make your own video and try being happy for someone else who was simply having fun.
I think some of the “haters” are just poking fun at the video. I make off the cuff remarks sometimes, and live to regret it. The joke falls flat and I have egg on my face.
This is so impossible on so many levels but he did it!!!! Also he THOUGHT HE HAD A CHANCE enough so to set all of this up which is just as impressive to me! Lol! Awesome!
strike 1: -1 strike 2: +2 strike 3: +0 strike 4: +5 strike 5: +1 strike 6: -1 strike 7: -1 strike 8: -2 strike 9: +0 strike 10: +1 strike 11: +5 go to lane 8 to optimize transition to 11th strike instead of back to 1. lineups could be optimised too, ~10s total in all the lineups combined
The video seems not to be edited, however a small trick could be done for this. If you connect all the pins with one string; that leads to a strike for sure. So, all the lanes are sat up before recording. Also when he finished the last lane he went to the first one ( paid time to set lane 1&2 ) That’s what I thought 💭
Assuming no shenanigans were involved (like CGI pins, narrow-bottom pins, mechanical assistance, etc), that was absolutely impressive! And that has to be some sort of world record; call the Guiness Book people!
One thing I don't understand: Once he hits the strike on lane 10, why does he go back to lane 1? He would be quicker on like l 8 and the pins are already set up there.
Would have been faster if he didn't run down the other end to play the last throw. Is that not something you think about before attempting this? Or is there some weird rule I'm not aware of?
When he struck the 10th, why did he go back to lane one so far away? Lanes 7 and 8 were already reset. He could have used them for his two bonus roles.
the point isn't 12 strikes in a row. The point is 12 strikes in the shortest amount of time. Yes, freshly oiled lanes across the house make this task doable and not comparable to a single lane PBA event.
ThunderStruckCoach I've been Bowling for a while, and except for the 3rd or 4th strike, they were all placed pretty well perfectly in the pocket. Even that one was still very much strike worthy. I usually think people are faking these sorts of things, but this one I believe.
I never bowled two handed but I was bowling with my thumb out in the mid 90s. I could hold my own in scratch tournaments but the pros were 10-20 pins better.
He could have probably done it faster if there were 2 more lanes because he wouldn't have to waste valuable seconds running back to the other side of the bowling alley to shoot the last 2 strikes.
An article on SB Nation said it was done before back in 2015. www.sbnation.com/lookit/2017/4/22/15394082/video-bowling-ben-ketola-perfect-game-fast-minute-26-seconds
He never could have done it without the "c'mon" guy saying "c'mon" before every shot towards the end. More impressive he pulled it off with that distraction, actually.
He doesn't put his fingers into the ball, this phenomenon started about 20 years ago, and is the rage today because you don't actually have to learn proper technique for throwing a hook. That's why his left hand is in such a weird position during delivery. PBA allows this technique, but there's something weird about having both a thumb hole and a balance hole, you cannot have both.
Just wonderful, I have been researching "how to curve a bowling ball with two fingers" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you ever come across - Piylivern Remarkable Predominance - (search on google ) ? It is a great one off guide for discovering how to up your bowling game quickly minus the hard work. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my partner got excellent results with it.
Bowling has become so ridiculously easy that a 300 game is a common feat nowadays! With the USBC allowing such a concentration of oil in the center of the lane all skill has been removed from the sport. Just stand left and throw it right and strike every time! Try it - you'll get your 300 soon enough! By the way I was a bowler for 43 years and was very passionate about the sport. Easy conditions convinced me to retire from the game. The clincher for me was when USBC changed their awards program and mandated that a 300 ring would be a once-in-a-lifetime achievement. Nice job of killing bowling USBC! You should be ashamed of yourself!
@@mikejones8426 I'm so great I got the opportunity to get my sanctioned (multiple 300) ring and my 800 ring prior to the change! Because I would been just a little bit upset with the change!
oooh, so your supposed to hit the PINS?! I was throwing them in the gutter thinking I was doing so well. Back to the drawing board I guess. Very impressive Ben. Congratulations on the worlds record.
Extremely impressive, never seen anything like it. But I bet he can cut off a bunch of seconds if he runs a little bit faster between the lanes and sets up the balls more convenient, and also instead of running back to the first lane he could go for the first available.
Back in the 70s as a kid, my friends and I were not the first to imagine trying something like this, nor were we the first to give up on the idea because we'd each need 3 balls drilled to our respective biases (allowing enough time for pin resets in three lanes each, we figured). Never occurred to any of us that you could impart that kind of hook bowling two-handed with lane balls. Bravo Ben.
Better check that oil pattern. Seems pretty walled up to me. Missed left and right a few times and still hit pretty flush. Either way still very impressive.
@@jstar2452 The lanes are oiled (aka -- "walled up") to produce nice flush pocket hits. This is a really nice house pattern that is put together to get the results we saw here. You still have to throw a good ball, and there's an element of luck. You can still leave a ringing 10 with a flush pocket hit, but the lanes were (probably) doctored up a bit to aid in the event.
@@Tony1035610 Agreed. There are 10 frames in a game. But a strike in frame 10 enables you to have up to two more throws. Hence a maximum of 12 strikes.
This is in the book of Revelations. Revelations 7:17 When someone gets 12 strikes in a row on different lanes, Jesus is coming back to earth. Its in the bible.
Absolutely insane feat here but you could have done it faster by not running all the way back to the first lane. You could've thrown another shot on the 9th and 10th lane and saved all that time running down to the other side.
