Always thought Chris was the coolest guy in the band and this proves it. Nearly 20 years later and he’s rocking the long grey beard with an Exodus shirt and a skirt.
this is what i like in Bowling for Soup they're talking to the crowd they connect to people not just play. its like they're stand up comedian at the same time punks !
I like to have a few beers and listen to my favourite bands live shows, but every single week this is the video I come back to. The band are on form, the sound is great, and Brad Pitt.
I have seen BFS a handful of times since 2006. Most recently in Seattle in 2020. My favorite was a show in St. Louis in 2010 before Jaret got fat and Erik dipped. Truly an amazing show. I wouldnt hang it up if i were them but like itll prolly never be the same as the early 00's 10's.
Back when I was working as a music hack back in the mid-00s I had the great fortune to interview Jared on a number of occasions. I was some dick working for Teletext, but I was afforded as much time with him as I wanted. One year at Download/Donington, he had a go at the then editor of Kerrang! for asking me to hurry up as it was "his slot". We deliberately dragged the interview out, we drank two bottles of red wine - from the bottle neck - and he went on stage struggling to walk straight. Played a bloody blinder straight off the bat. A year or so later, I sat down with him at the Leeds Festival. He remembered me from Download, and we proceeded to get pole-axed again, shortly before going on stage. Again. A bloody lovely bloke.
Yep he is the best! One time he gave me way too much of his time when I randomly saw him at the bar at a New Found Glory show in California. Then another time he pulled me onstage to play his Texas guitar. Awesome dude!
Thats amazing! I had a chance to go to their show in 2011, but I was 15 and my family didn't let me go to the city in 600 km away Still I hope one day I will sign "come back to Taxes" with the crowd and the band)
i skipped blink 182 and green day to see these guys at when we were young. I don't regret a damn thing, especially after seeing them bring out dan povenheimer to sing the phineas and ferb intro
ur wrong in so many different reguards, jaret is morbidly obese and only cares about himself, chris is old and isn’t even chris anymore, rob sucks at playing base and erik was and is way better and that’s another thing jaret got so out of control that erik left the band and now fucking ROB is in the band ,i love bowling for soup but jesus they have changed
Was there would of love to see more deep cuts and some more songs but they were so good that it was still like a 10 performance cuz of how great it sounded .
Since McCartney, Bob Dylan, Way before Led Zeppelin There were Beach Boys, and Hollies And music still on old LPs Her two kids in high school They tell her that she's far out Cause she's still preoccupied with 19, 19, 1965
I really like this band and ofc 1985 I think jaret is a great singer it makes me sad to see that he got this big I hope he can get it off not for aesthetic reasons I just want him around as long as possible To get that big there must be something mental going on and that makes me really sad and I understand I hope he gets better
@@Christpuncher138 I really don’t want to come off as disrespectful. Like I said I really like jaret a lot and think he’s really talented and seems like a great guy, I follow him on ig. I know it’s common to put on weight with age but how he looks now in comparison to the old music videos is jarring. I just hope he’s ok mentally, I’ve put on weight myself. Used to be a very slim 175 and would run all the time, got super depressed and demotivated during Covid and now am around 210-215. It sucks having family tell you how round your face is or that it’s surprising to see me with a belly. I seriously get it. Not trying to shame or overly speculate.
I don't think he ever gave a reason for leaving but he has released his own album, Erik Chandler Band "The Truth" ru-vid.com/group/OLAK5uy_lEJZb8ZGnxaekn7wJZhhG2B73WeFCLqss
He just seems like such a good guy and usually, more often than not, being that size in your 50s just isn't sustainable. I'm not shaming Jared. I'd just like him to be around as long a possible because he's such a great dude and Contributes so much to the music scene. Also he probably had family that needs him. I hope he's able to get healthier soon.
Living in Dallas I’ve seen BFS about 20x and I swear 80% of the time less than Jake was on the bill - they must be pretty close. Jaret may have gotten fat but it looks like Chris lost weight/quit smoking.
I saw them and kinda thought you know they used to play like 20-25 songs. They only played 11 when I saw them in 2022. So I’ve come to two theories. There like well fuck it well do the minimum to get paid because they’ve checked out. Or 2 they are in such bad shape physically they can’t handle playing a full show which is sad.
@@ZapperRS when I saw them they were on stage for 1hr and a half and talked for 45 minutes and even had a comedy portion of the show where they told jokes wtf. I paid for music not a comedy show. In 2013 they played 31 songs in Glasgow and they sounded awesome. Not only did they play 11 songs they stopped in between every song to talk and didn’t sound as good as they did a decade earlier
This was a co-headlining tour with Less Than Jake so each band played a shorter set than a normal sole headliner. Aquabats played a really long set too, much longer than the usual set length for the 3rd band on a bill
@poppunkhistorian the point is if your gonna play 11 songs play your 45 minute set and get off the stage. Don’t drag along for another 45 minutes talking and stopping in between every song. Less than jake played more songs and even though was co-headlining still was on stage for less time. The aquabats were not present at the concert I was at because of covid so they got 2 other bands to fill in. However I heard all the talk about bfs kind of being a let down on the tour. Hopefully they get healthy and get their shit together. I’d still love to see them again I’m still a fan I just hope for a better outcome next time.
