Review of the BowTech Amplify. In this video, I talk about my experience shooting the BowTech Amplify. I also share the speed the BowTech Amplify shot for me when set at 70 pounds and 30-inch draw using a 350-grain arrow and also a 450-grain arrow. If you would like to shoot a BowTech Amplify, contact your local bow shop to see if they carry it.

Just got into Archery and this is my first bow. Absolutely no regrets. Just gotta figure out how to tune it to squeeze every last ounce of accuracy out of it.

Thank you for reviewing that Amplify! I have a Diamond Edge SB-1 and this looks like the next level. Thinking to set it up with a nice drop away rest and a good sight and it will be ready for deer in the fall.

Great review! I almost bought the amplify. It’s a super shooter, feels great and fast! Went with a leftover Realm X though as I like a bit longer a2a. Solid bow though. Thanks again!

Just a bit of info on Db...whenever there is a 3 Db change that means the noise either doubles (3 Db increase) or is cut in half (3 Db lower). So if you have one that is 70 Db it’s half as loud as one that is 73. It’s called the 3Db Dow point. I’m a submarine sonar technician, so sound is kinda my gig...

Nice review. I could go out and buy a flagship bow but the guilt factor would be huge. Leaning towards this or the carbon zion. I would love to get a bowtech solution. Can't justify it though. I currently have the diamond sb 1 and I'm a fantastic shot with it. Can't imagine how I would do with a better bow.

If you are shooting good, stick with it. If you are thinking of adding another bow, any of the ones you have mentioned will work. I do like the Amplify. Either way, enjoy whatever you end up doing. God bless.

@@seansoutdoors alrighty. Good advice. I guess the way they market the volume of the shot has me overthinking. I suppose a deer will jump regardless.

Hi Sean, I appreciate your videos - thank you! I'm 65 and have a Hoyt Spyder 34 (40-50), set at 40 lbs and just use it for target practice. I had shoulder surgery a year ago and now I'm starting from scratch - can pull 12 lbs now, but working up. I'm not sure I'll ever get to my 40 lbs again, but someone recommended the Elite Ember and Bowtech Amplify for their quality and broad range draw weights. Do you have an opinion on which one would be the better bow or do you have other options for me? Also, a suggestion regarding your draw weight scale process - why not just turn off the scale, then turn it back on when it times out? This would save you from starting over then cranking up to the draw length when the scale timed out.
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 3 года назад
I really like the Elite Ember a lot and would recommend that one as my preference for your situation. As for the scale, every time you power it on it calibrates it's current setting to zero, so, if it was at 53.9 pounds when it shuts itself off, and I power it back on, it will begin with zero pounds even though it is holding 53.9. To continue from there would throw everything off as it doesn't go to negative digits and the draw weight drops as you get near the end of the draw cycle. Thanks for the suggestion though. God bless you
@pietromoopy2010
@pietromoopy2010 3 года назад
You also have to account for the scales error which would be in the manual. Also these things drift over time so it will never be perfectly calibrated. But in my experience its usually good for ballpark figures.
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 3 года назад
I think a two pound varience would be understandable but not more than that.

Hi Sean. I'm looking at bows for my 12 year old son. He's a bigger kid at around a 25" draw and 40lb draw. He's been dying for a new bow. We really like the looks and specs of the Elite Ember, but no one around us has one to try. Also liked this bow, Amplify, I'm just worried the cam may be too aggressive for him. We were trying to find something to last the next 6-8 years for him if he wants. What are your thoughts on a bow in this category, $600 or less, to grow with him? Thank you for all the great content. I like the way you break everything down and make it available to us.
@seansoutdoors
@seansoutdoors 3 года назад
The Ember is great but only goes to 60 pounds so he would possibly outgrow that if he is already at 40. The Amplify could be turned down pretty far and at low weight I don't think it would feel too bad for him. If I was in your shoes I'd probably lean toward the Amplify. The draw force curve drops off more gradual than some bows that are more agressive.

@@tybell203 I have bought an amplify myself. They have cams mods that you can flip. One is for comfort which is a smooth draw. And then a performance or speed side. To be honest the speed side only gains maybe 4+ fps. Rock it with the comfort side and preach shot placement.

Hey Sean, i am looking into buying the Amplify. I have been recovering from shoulder, arm, and wrist injuries and think being able to adjust the draw weight will be key for my rehabilitation (if possible). I am curious about thay draw weight chart and whether or not the mod on the cam was set to comfort or performance for that chart? I hunt iowa bow season and would like to try and start using a bow again if my body will allow it. Im not sure if it will but i feel like this would be the best bow i could buy for this rehabilitating type purpose.

It was on the comfort setting.. God, please bless Drew and his recovery. Please help him be able to shoot a bow comfortably and without causing any more damage to his shoulder. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

@@seansoutdoors Thank you. I went to fin and feather store today and drew a bear legit. Drew up to 47 lbs with good form and very little discomfort. Stopped at 47 though because i could tell that was where i should stop. That was a lot better than i was expecting. Ill order the Amplify today. Might even be ready by this season if i keep practicing. Took a nice big buck last season with my crossbow.

The limb pockets look like they are carbon reinforced composite. This material could have better mechanical and chemical properties then aluminum. They are many cars now days made with the same material for the roof or even axial drive shafts. IF they are made correctly and in Bowtech case I have no doubt in my mind they will last for a really long time . I do have carbon fiber diving fins that are 14 years old and they have no issues .
