I just purchased the same Bowtech myself after many years of Mathews. I test shot the same Hoyt, Mathews, PSE. All very good bows would be happy with any of them, but my opinion is shoot what feels good in your hands and performs the best for your shooting style. it came down to the Hoyt and Bowtech for me and was tough decision but the Bowtech for me was just a better feeling. Far as noise and jump they talk about there could be many variables that contribute; arrow size vs bow weight being shot, shooting technique, etc. I have a weight stabilizer on mine and do not notice the jump they mentioned. Through the chronograph my Bowtech is 269 and 270fps set at 58#, 30" draw length with 340 spline-31" arrow-9.3gpi with 2" 3 fletch vanes able to shoot baseball size group with 5 arrows at 50 yards, so i think the bow is pretty accurate. Happy Hunting!

Interesting, because is extremely noticeable that has he released the arrow from the hoyt, it jumped in his hand?

I shot both and ended up with the BowTech. I took 5 shots with each and I was sold

Looked to me like the drawlength on the hoyt was longer than the bowtech....for speed wise...it also sounded to me just based on the video like the bowtech was quieter than the hoyt.

I went with the Powermax and actually got my first plains deer on opening day first shot with about a 6 yard run out after from 40 yards. Best birthday ever

Hey, just a few (important) points. The Convergence, like other Bowtechs, has a comfort and a performance setting. You didn't mention what setting you had it on. My guess would be performance. It's a different bow on comfort. Also, as far as sound and vibrations. The Powermax has some serious limb dampeners. It also seems to come equip with a better stabilizer. Lastly, the Powermax is almost 200$ more. Which allows Hoyt to add a better stabilizer and limb dampeners. So, it's not an apples to apples comparison and should be mentionned. Thanks for comparison/review.

Garret can you please respond to this from 4 months ago, was it on comfort or performance? or were you not aware there is a adjustment?

@@albertangulo1420 I just got the bowtech and the shop set it all up and I been shooting it the last few days and it is really really jumpy. I actually have been at full draw and had it fly forward. Grant it I was fatigued from shooting a lot but the thing Just wants to go. They must have put it on performace setting when they tuned it. Unfortunately idk how to tell which setting its on

Donna Lee look up Lucky Stops get the one that looks like the larger clover not the smaller one and back peg it on position 2. The entire bow will change completely.

@@albertangulo1420 I'm gonna get on the bowtech site today so I can see which setting its on. so that's a thing with these convergences? Are they really jumpy? Just wondering if its just me or if other people notice the same things with these bows? I like the bow but when u get to full draw theres nothing there but u can feel it just wants to go and sometimes it will jolt on ya. Its hard for me to explain

@@albertangulo1420 I shot it today and it felt fine. I think I was just really fatigued and wasnt use to the bow the first day i was shooting it and it seemed really jumpy but now that I'm use to it isn't an issue anymore

Also picked convergence because of price, like everybody knows the add-ons kill you. I never use whisker biscuit/ruins fletching over time. I’ll dress the bow up on critical things. To keep price down. Most of these top end bows go 1500 and over, all dressed up.

Would take the Bear Paradox for this priceclass☝️

I bought my boy a powermax in 2016 and he never quite took to hunting. So its been my backup bow to my 70lb triax. And i have to say its a dam good back up bow. Hits hard, accurate just a great bow for what i paid for it.

Man...comes down to perspective, I guess. I recently scored a new '16 Pro Defiant the shop wanted to get off the rack, which is getting set up today. When I was looking for a bow I looked at the Powermax, and Bowtec 31X (??) You did a video on it...oh well I ended up falling into the PD instead. It would be a tough call if both are as close as they seem watching your review. Good job, as usual 😎

Absolutely love Hoyt all I have ever used from the old katera to the carbon spider sold my spider had a lot go on with money and was going to go with the RX this season but wasn’t affordable shot a cheaper Hoyt and then the convergence and pound for pound and price went with the convergence balance and weight ratio was spot on I didn’t feel it as jumpy a little tough on the beginning of draw at 70lbs but that was all thought it was smooth and fast I am also running full metal jackets 340 spine with 80 grain tips wich of course slows the arrow down a bit due to arrow weight but was still around 305 FPS

I noticed it was freakin loud too. The stabilizer in the box is garbage to compared with the old octane one that was common.

I liked the convergence over 2 other brands. Only because of the smooth draw cycle, a bad shoulder over the years made that decision for me. Only my opinion. Was very smooth.

I would save save up an extra $100 and get the Hoyt Nitrux. I love that bow.

The nitrux around here would be about 200-250 more. But I agree it’s a good bow for the money

Can you possibly review the Hoyt hyperforce, I think it got overlooked by the rx-1 and is selling for cheap now

I'm a dealer and what I've noticed with those bowtechs is that if it's not perfectly tuned it'll leap out of your hand and it's loud as hell. I got the same impression shooting the SR6 straight out of the box and it was a completely different bow after it was tuned.
@garrettweaver6605

Possible I didn’t draw board it personally, I trust my buddy that works at the shop to do it before I get there. I’ll check it next time I’m in

The Bowtech has a cheap looking stabilizer and no limb dampeners which might add to the noise.
@IMKINDOFABIGDEAL13

I bought the convergence and it didn't come with a stabilizer so I think that might just be something they threw on that was laying around. I ended up going with a 9 inch trophy ridge static stabilizer. It's great for the price. Has 2 removable weights and has a real cool look
@donnalee1233

@@IMKINDOFABIGDEAL13 no I just got the convergence and it comes with that red stabilizer. Is your convergence really jumpy? Mine just wants to go when I'm at full draw

I'd like to see those budget bows that the average working paycheck to paycheck joe can afford ested and compared. Like quest and pse. Everyone tests these 1000$ bows but no one tests the 300$-400$ ones.
